3 Americans killed at Mumbai Jewish center
MUMBAI, India - Commandos who stormed the Mumbai headquarters of an ultra-orthodox Jewish group on Friday found the bodies of five hostages inside — a New York rabbi and his wife as well as three others. The rabbi and two other men were American citizens, while his wife and another woman were Israeli.
The office was one of 10 sites attacked by gunmen on Wednesday and Thursday in a spree that killed more than 150 people in India’s financial capital, including at least 14 foreigners. Local officials earlier provided a higher number but that could not be confirmed.
Early Friday night, Indian commandos emerged from the besieged Jewish center with rifles raised in an apparent sign of victory after the daylong siege that saw a team rappel from helicopters and a series of explosions and fire rock the building and blow gaping holes in the wall.
About the only good news from this is that the young baby of Rabbi Gavriel and Rivka Noach was saved from this barbarous attack. Our prayers and good wishes to the victims and their families/loved ones.
I have nothing else to add that will not result in me looking for someone to punch.

My problem is with blanket statements such as the one above. Nobody has “claimed responsibility” and there are more than enough non-state actors in the region, or who are within commuting distance, who have both the desire and the wherewithal to carry this off.
At this juncture, if someone wants to point a finger (or a paw) at a group, it’s best to note that it’s a guess and then give the reasons why the guess has some credibility. The OP to whom I referred just barely pointed a finger, no specifics and no reasoning and I don’t think that’s acceptable.

Are you aware of the metaphoric semantics behind the word? Also, have you ever heard about Hindu Kush? Is it “tension” if someone breaks into my house and shoots my entire family and I get upset about it? Do you have any idea at all how many millions of Indians have been killed in the past because of these “tensions”? And no, there are NOT two sides to this story, unless your name is Hans Blix or Neville Chamberlain.
This is akin to saying that Hamas is not involved in kidnapping and murdering children on the Gaza border in my eyes. Why is it so that when India is blindly attacked by demons and SOB cowards that we suddenly become soooooo reserved?!?! But I guess we shouldn’t offend our “precious” ally in the war on terror right?

If anyone wants to keep believing that this was just a “random act of violence by some disgruntled “youth”", they can keep thinking so. In the meantime, I prefer to NOT give them ANY benefit of doubt, taking their history into context.

(I think even Obama (EVEN HIM!!!) has no doubts about the perpetrator here). Maybe Condi can go and tell Indian leaders to give away some more “land for peace”? THAT certainly worked well in Israel. India has now given away about half the country, but the peace hasn’t appeared. The Kashmir valley had 70% Hindus some 50 years ago, but today there’s barely any intact hindu communities left.
I understand that we have to be “inclusive” of all “diverse” opinions so we can mimick the libs as much as possible here also. Maybe we should ask WHY they did this. Did they get mad at something?? Should we have tried to “understand” them some more? There are many “detainees” in Guantanamo that we don’t have “specifics” about as well. Should we let them loose?
btw, the “tensions” in this region started in 712 and I consider it a miracle that the country is still standing.

At this point, I am willing to listen more to the Indian intelligence agency, hundreds of millions of indians and every single Indian friend I know than someone that blames the brits for these problems.
