LA-02: Joseph Cao, otherwise known as “Not Bill Jefferson…”

...in his *freezer.*

I would like to reassure our Republican readers that my mentioning of Joseph Cao’s alternate name in the title is in no way intended to diminish his quite impressive accomplishments in the community. You can volunteer to his campaign here, by the way – or, again, contact the LA GOP. No, I’m fully confident that any Republican reading this understands the stakes. The title is simply there to remind our Democratic readers that there will be a clear and stark moral choice going on in Saturday’s election… and that anybody who doesn’t do whatever they can to defeat Bill Jefferson has made the wrong moral choice.

In other words: vote for the Republican.

It’s important.

PS: Again: …in his freezer.

Jefferson will surely play his race card as he has throughout his career while at the same time ripping off his “brothers and sisters” and helping to keep them in poverty, but the truth is Jefferson’s stench is so strong that Obama will not give him the time of day. If Jefferson really thinks otherwise, he is as dumb as he is crooked.

It is really sad that the people who voted for him do not even realize that he has been stealing from them for years, but what else should we expect from the majority of Orleans Parish voters. They re-elected Nagin. Geez.

to play the race card. That and whether there is a “(D)” next to a politician’s name is the top factor in this district.

Like Moe says, the way to influence these races (especially in Orleans Parish) is to have Democrats understand that people like this are disgusting and even a member of the opposite party would be better. Republicans (maybe 30%) will support Cao and race voters (maybe 45%) will support Jefferson. We have to convince the 25% of independent to Democratic voters that it doesn’t matter your ideology, this behavior cannot be tolerated.

And don’t be too harsh on Orleans Parish voters. We did vote a little known guy named Bobby Jindal into Congress. And an actually little known guy (with great potential) named Steve Scalise.

Well… since we’ve heard so much about how Racism had a blow struck against it with “Whites” demonstrating they can (be baited… er… convinced to) vote for a “Black guy,” isn’t it time for “Blacks” to equally demonstrate they are past RACISM by voting for the “Asian” guy!?!?

Course not… that moronic PC notion is a one way street… Just a bout of silliness on my part.

Don’t worry Aquinas, my very conservative brother has resided in Lakeview for the past 13 years. I’m well acquainted with Orleans parish politics and agree with you on getting the message out.

The problem we have down there is Jefferson’s voters see him as an icon. Until the icon goes to jail, as did Edwin Edwards, they’re stupid enough to keep voting him in.

I sure hope enough of the ignorant stay home on election day.
