An update to Warner Todd Huston’s Colorado outrage.

If you haven’t read it yet, read it here.

Yup. Threatening a kid for having fake gun-shaped items used for rifle drills. Fascinating how these people think, huh?

The principal for Cherokee Trail High School is Brooke Gregory. S/he could very well be not yet fully aware of this situation: give him/her a call at 720-886-1904 and politely inquire.

The Superintendent for the Cherry Creek School System is Marie Chesley, and she would no doubt like this problem to go away. You can reach her at 303-773-1184 – just to make sure, though.

The Congressman for CO-07 is Ed Perlmutter (D). Call him up at 202-225-2645 and ask him if he supports the expulsion of students trying to do rifle drills. If you live in the District, his number there is 303.274.7944.

Mark Udall (D) is the senior Senator for Colorado. Call him at 202-224-5941 (877-768-3255 if you’re from Colorado) and ask him the same question, assuming that you can get through from all the people screaming about how we’re about to pass a trillion dollar debt bill. On the other hand, they’d probably be ecstatic to have something less minefield-like to work on, at this point.

Michael F. Bennet (D) is the junior Senator for Colorado. Call him at 202-224-5852; if/when you get through, be sure to ask whether he would have sanctioned this when he was running the Denver school system.

…And that’s all that I can think of, under the circumstances.

This is so stupid. When I was in high school I was a member of our rifle corps. We performed at half time shows, pep rallies and because I live in Southern Louisiana Mardi Gras parades. Our fake performance rifles just like this young girls were kept at the school. We took our practice rifles home with us. We practiced on campus three times a week. We performed in the auditorium at pep rallies. I know for a fact there is no way to mistake these rifles for real ones. I hope this young woman’s family sues this school district for all it’s worth.

It may turn out that the parents of this fine young lady seek legal representation to battle this outrage.

They may need contributions to fight this fight. I would be happy to donate. So, if you (or anyone) happens to come across (or create) a fund to help them, please let me know.

I realize there are many, many skirmishes that require our donations to try to stem the rapid erosion of our way of life, but I do think this one is worthwhile.

As someone pointed out on the original thread, it is by these little nibbles that our freedoms and values are diluted.

A nibble here, a nibble there, whilst we are otherwise busy working and tending to our families.

Phone calls to these cretins are in progress. But if they need more substantial help, I?m ready to kick in the $$.

In high school my unit had a firing squad in the end zone. Whenever our team scored, we let loose a few volleys with our M1903s. I never once thought until today that I could have been expelled for doing so. Heck, the school encouraged us!

This is insanity. Either way it speaks to the idiots who run these schools. Either their common sense chip is missing or they have an animus against the military. Either way they need the heave-ho.

As I said here, we’re going to have to work to change the law as well. It’s written such that you can’t consider circumstances. That needs to change, and changing that starts with contacting State reps.

Is everyone connected with that school system retarded?

I thought educators were supposed to be (by definition) smarter and more intelligent than their students. Apparently this is no longer true in Obamamerica.

Why hasn’t either of the Denver dailies — Rocky Mountain News or Denver Post — reported on this situation? Nothing on either website, but their owned by the same company and share resources.

CC District used to be a bastion of conservatism. Cripes, I remember kids in CC and other districts having rifles / shotguns displayed on racks in the trucks, parked on campus. Just shows how the NEA has created the air of insecurity.

I remember several schools in the Denver area have rifle drill teams, inner city and suburbs alike. Denver East had one of the best years ago, in the midst of some of the worst gang / gun violence areas. It used to be a source of school pride.

Rather than celebrating this young lady’s drive and determination, CCSD is pushing her out to create space for more drones.

So, what’s next? Banning baseball, track and field (javelin, shot put, discus and relay baton all can be weapons), and chess club (knights carry weapons). Will the only sport offered by schools become passive-agressive debating?
