I’m surprised that this hasn’t seen more play.

After all, we have a Democrat as President: it’s acceptable to pretend to be for freedom and democracy again.

Three things:
1). What do we know about this guy?  Or when it was made?
2). If we had listened to Obama in 2006, this guy would probably be dead right now.
3). Not In Your Name, antiwar movement.
Not then.
Not now.
Not ever.

He praised the Sufi culture while slamming the more tradition Arab Islamic cultures (I assume he meant both the Shia and Sunni sects). If he belongs to the Sufi’s the others may not listed. If he’s a Sunni then there is hope.

Anyway, thanks for finding this clip. It’s good to know that at least some of the people in the Islamic world get it. Freedom is a great thing and should be nurtured and praised.

Aside from the obvious meaning that we may be shunned by family for our belief, I always believed that Christ drew a line in the sands of time between prehistoric tribalism and what we now know as “Western Civilization.” This guy, with help from the West, finally got a glimpse of that line and likes what he sees on this side of it. I hope he isn’t treated to a Taliban haircut for his insight.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, “prehistoric tribalism” is probably the best parallel I can think of for the liberal curse of identity politics. God help us all.
