Via Ace of Spades… as Ann Coulter* says, many good and decent people go to agricultural schools. Many of them even major in communications. But… well, we’ll let Ann speak for herself:
…most people who majored in “communications” at an ag school don’t act like Marshall Scholars or go around mocking graduates of Regent University Law School.
The sort of insecurity that would force you to always say “trebled” instead of “tripled” could only come from a communications major with massive status anxiety, like Keith. Without even looking it up, I am confident that Harvard, Yale and Princeton do not offer degrees in “communications.” I know there is no “communications” major at the Ivy League Cornell.
“Communications” is a major, along with “recreation science,” most commonly associated with linemen at USC. But at least the linemen can throw a football, which Keith cannot because his mother decided he was not physically robust enough to play outdoors as a child.
Alas, Ann then goes on to tell a fib - she says that she’s pointing this out in order to “liberate” Olbermann. The reality is, of course, she’s doing it because she’s quite aware that Olbermann’s an insecure little weasel with serious compensation issues, and because she is quite keen to see whether she can get the serial exaggerator to pop a blood vessel in his eye on national television. Which I have to admit would be entertaining.
Then again, so would sending Keith back to school. I mean, really: communications? That’s the major that people who can’t hack the pressure of an English degree end up picking.

6eorge Jetson Thursday, March 5th at 4:04AM EST (link)The America we at RedState know offers the greater class mobility than any other major nation. Yes, a degree from an American Ivy conveys a certain amount of unearned opportunity to its graduates. But less so than elsewhere.
It should come as no surprise that the true agenda of the wealthy leftists is to keep themselves in the upper class by seeking to control the means to upward mobility. It should also come as no surprise when hypocrites such as Olbermann have two standards or sets of rules: one for themselves and one for the proletariat.
When we conservatives discover Olbermanns that can’t live up to their own self-serving, arbitrary rules, we have a duty to spotlight the hypocrisy. Furthermore, I see nothing wrong with indulging in a little schadenfreude.
Fake Ivy League
Fred Maidment Thursday, March 5th at 6:39AM EST (link)That Olberman would denigrate my two degrees from state schools just confirms something I’ve known about him for a long, long time:
Olberman is an idiot.
(I’d add some accenting descriptors, but it says “Be respectful” below).
This kind of elitism is exactly what is wrong with the Democrat

My brother who is as liberal as I am a conservative (he is a graduate of only Johns Hopkins B.A., and New York University J.D.) will not watch Olberman because he considers him to be a loud mouth jerk.
I a graduate of lowly Marshall University (B.A. and M.A.) can only nod my head and agree.

Uma Richie Thursday, March 5th at 6:56AM EST (link)Ann’s column really struck a chord with me and I feel so cruel because of it.
Fact is, I went to my 3rd choice (small, but good college) because of the scholarship they offered me. Now looking at the state of the economy, I’d rather a bunch parsimonious leaders from the state schools than people who graduated with a designer label, an attitude of superiority, and a comfort with large debts.
And Olberman is a faker who wants to be part of that set. What a loser.

eylerwerve Thursday, March 5th at 1:17PM EST (link)Going to second tier colleges in rural states is, by itself, a cause for derision? Really?
Is it too much trouble to focus on the words coming out of his mouth?
Yes, it is. The words coming from his mouth give one heartburn

Going to second tier colleges isn’t a cause for derision, but bragging that you went someplace you didn’t, while hooting at those who actually did attend similar rural colleges, is certainly cause for pointing and laughing when you get busted for your ridiculous duplicity.

Coulter made up the NON-Ivy League issue
kneejerklefty2 Thursday, March 5th at 9:44PM EST (link)Ann Coulter is the snob here, not Olbermann. She is arguing that HER Cornell University diploma confers Ivy-League-education credentials on to her, while Keith Olbermann’s diploma does not.
There are seven undergraduate colleges at Cornell. She received a BA at the liberal arts college; he received a BS at the agriculture and life sciences college.
There is nothing in the history of the Ivy League that differentiates between the colleges at Cornell. However I’m sure Coulter, ever the elitist, convinced herself that because the ag college receives some state funding, it is not a TRUE Ivy League school, as was hers. This is a complete fabrication.
shut up lefty troll
Doc Holliday Thursday, March 5th at 9:45PM EST (link)she explained it well, Olberman has an Ivy League education in communications? I learned communications in 1st grade.

Good. This bothers you.

Doc Holliday Thursday, March 5th at 9:49PM EST (link)check out Oxford. they have colleges as esteemed as anywhere, but to get into their mba program all you need is a pulse. another example is Princeton. Princeton theological seminary is not Ivy league, but other Princeton colleges are. Either way, Olbermann is a fool, a self agrandizing wannabe. If he loses the MSNBC job, he is done with tv. And since GE is acting like a company in bankruptcy, he might just lose that gig.
Molon Labe!
Hey, Doc ... koff, koff (you should take care of that!)

But you know, liberals aren’t that bright, so I wouldn’t fret if I were you.
Maybe so
Jack_Savage Thursday, March 5th at 10:24PM EST (link)But no one goes to ag school at Cornell, so Olbermann was the one out of the five that applied.
Communications major at an ag school turned loudmouthed a-hole. That is rich beyond words, and your little hissy fit tells me it stings.
No one goes to ag school at Cornell?
kneejerklefty2 Friday, March 6th at 2:12AM EST (link)BusinessWeek ranked Cornell’s Applied Economics and Management major, (part of the ag school) as the fourth best undergraduate business programs in the country. Yeah, who would want THAT crap on their resume?
Oh, and when you study Communications as an undergraduate at Cornell, you receive a Bachelor of SCIENCE degree, not some weenie Bachelor of Arts degree (like Man Coulter). The Communicatons department collaborates in such fields as Genomics, Nanotechnology, National Nanotechnology Infrastructure, etc. What a bunch of idiot losers!

Now I know.
Pfft! Ivy league pikers. Only 7 colleges?
The_Gadfly Thursday, March 5th at 11:02PM EST (link)My alma mater has 11! And yes, we started as an Ag college (we are still a leader in this one), ranked 1st in student run philanthropy last year, and have a consistently great football team with (okay we had one mediocre season about 5 years ago but that was when Joe was thinking about maybe retiring sometime). And our Communications college at least teaches rudimentary logic skills!
That’s right, get into an argument with an Ag College grad and we’ll TEACH you some smack! Now go crawl back under the rock with the rest of your slimy komrades.
We’ve been called racists enough now that it shouldn’t bother us any more.
