Democrats moving to distance themselves from Obama’s veterans policy.

There’s been quite the flareup over the disastrous Shineski comments on potential changes in veteran policy, and the Democrats in Congress have wasted no time in distancing themselves from the administration on this one. As just one example, we have Senator James Webb*. When contacted regarding the recent CNN article indicating the possibility of a “controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance,” Webb’s office provided this response from the Senator: “Treatment for service-connected injuries is clearly within the responsibility of the U.S. government through the Department of Veterans Affairs—period.” This statement to RedState is a duplicate of the statement also made to the Huffington Post; the story there also mentions a letter being put together by House Democrats opposing any such change.  Very, very, loudly, and to anyone who will listen.

It’s become increasingly obvious that the administration’s tin ear when it comes to dealing with groups not inclined to be forgiving about it remains in full force.   They haven’t gotten any faster at correcting their mistakes, either: Obama’s profoundly unsuccessful meeting with American Legion President David Rehbein should have been resolved yesterday, not tomorrow. Assuming that it will be: it’s possible that Obama will try an I-won and a flash of the charisma that he does not, in point of fact, actually have.

No, really.  Bill Clinton would have had Rehbein walking out of there all smiles in the first place.  For that matter, so would have George W Bush; but then, Bush had the advantage of being a Republican.

*I’ve also contacted Senator Patty Murray’s office, but they haven’t gotten back to me yet.

However, I do not doubt for a second that there will be continuing efforts on the part of the Nobama Administration to sneak this in as some kind of pilot program.
Not because it “saves” any remarkable amount of money, but just because Democrats cannot stand the idea of not forcing people into something new and different, even if (especially if?) whatever is currently in place ‘works’.

Scott Murphy has made some, well, interesting comments about the military. I wonder if he supports this policy of the Obamessiah just like he supports his economic plan . . .

The thought is disgraceful. It’s amazing that Obama would be willing to stiffarm injured Vets for a piddling amount of money. It tells you the level of commitment and respect from this administration to such military issues: there isn’t any.

I called my congresswoman (Dem on Armed Services Committee) on this one. As soon as I brought up the topic, the spokeswoman was quick to downplay & distance her boss from the proposal.

This proposal is going absolutely nowhere. However, it’s another chunk of Obama’s political capital that has vaporized into thin air.

With his no-plans plan to increase the troop numbers in Afghanistan to something like 17,00 troops, let’s see how many will join the military, and what the retension rates are with his latest slap to the military, Doubt this will ever go anywhere with Webb so opposed to it. It is a great point for the Republicans in upcoming elections though, if they remember to use it.

How cruel Democrats really can be.

No solemn promise will go unbroken under the ACTING president. If his teleprompter says it, it must be so.

The Democrats voted for and with this Marxist Teleprompter every step of the way…….. now it’s time they start paying for it……… with their jobs, careers and bank accounts.

Off with their political and virtual scalps in as many ways as possible…… direct contact to these un-American Democrat Congressional perpetrators members via letters, phone and also media, blog sites, etc.

Contact EVERY local-to-you Veterans organization (American Legion, VFW, Jewish War Veterans, etc.) and ask how you can help them spread the word about this nefarious administration and their plans for our country’s veterans, along with all currently serving and future armed forces members.
