Specter’s comments were just crass in the extreme. I mean, it would be in very bad taste for a Republican to use a Ted Kennedy death in such a crass manner. Specter owes Kemp’s family and the families and friends of everyone who have lost a loved one due to cancer (myself included) an apology.

Forgive me — because as a Christian, I should not think these thoughts — but when I first read Arlen Specter’s comments I hoped that Specter will very shortly relapse and die a very painful death due to his cancer.
