Obama yanking Granholm out of Michigan?

I note with some interest (via a post from The Other McCain) that there are some Democrats still out there that are apparently seriously contemplating supporting the nomination of Governor Jennifer Granholm to the Supreme Court.

DETROIT, May 17 (UPI) — Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm would provide a fresh perspective to the U.S. Supreme Court if she is nominated by President Barack Obama, analysts say.

Yes, I suppose that the Governor would provide a ‘fresh perspective’ to the Supreme Court. To the best of my knowledge, no sitting Justice there has managed to almost double an entire state’s unemployment rate in five short years. Particularly when the national unemployment rate was trending downward for most of that time:

Or is it just a case of testing to destruction The Peter Principle once and for all? If so, I give full credit to the Obama administration for seriously contemplating rescuing the people of Michigan from one of its primary (and no doubt, well-meaning) tormentors… but must it be the Supreme Court? Surely they have not filled all the slots at Fish & Game yet? My father-in-law would vehemently object to that particular suggestion, but sacrifices must sometimes be made.

PS: Interestingly, this line of thought suggests that Rep Conyers hates Michigan, and wishes for it to suffer some more.

    Appointing Governor Jennifer Granholm to the Supreme Court would be Marxist FAIR. I haven’t liked obama and his thugs stealing taxpayers money and giving it to failing institutions so it pads his buddies hands. That is not Fair.
    I’m sick of obama trying to redefine words to make him appear competent when he is the most unfair inconsiderate incompetent Marxist LIAR i HAVE KNOW IN 60 YEARS.
    Appointing Governor Jennifer Granholm to the Supreme Court would be a disaster just like the Michagan economy is.

    I’m told she just got on a plane to DC from Michigan. Could just be an interview, but who knows.

    since nearly every other appointee to the cabinet or whatever has had some kind of scandal or has shown some kind of incompetence or just simply was the wrong fit for the job, Panetta’s standing up to Pelosi (so far) not withstanding. She’s ruined Michigan’s economy, Obama’s in the process of ruining the nation’s, so why not? Maybe he wants to see if she can apply the same ruination to the Constitution.

    Granholm’s nomination would spare Reagan the indiginity of having made the worst nominations (Kennedy and O’Connor).

    Not without Conyers’ support.

    Of more interest to me was Conyers’ attempt to explain his actions to a group of progressives. I too would like to know what Conyers was talking about.

    Mark Brewer, chairman of the Michigan Democratic Party was present when the congressman, who chairs the powerful House Judiciary Committee, made his remarks.

    ?I?m not sure what John Conyers is talking about in terms of a recommendation about a U.S. attorney, so I am not able to comment,? Brewer said. ?It?s all news to me.?

    …but I don’t think that’s what she had in mind when she predicted her constituents would be “blown away.”

    As much as I would like to be rid of Granholm, wherever she would go, she would be replaced by someone just as bad or worse. There is no indication that those who supported her or voted for her have learned anything from this terrible situation. I am afraid that Michigan will need to get much worse before the majority asks themselves, “maybe we need to try something different”.

    Given that the Court is supposed to let foreign opinions trump the US Constitution, what better than to add a Canadian?

    Brought us what we Conservatives knew was her real promises…. To make Michigan be more like the Ontario Canada Province rather that say… the great American Cities of Ontario, OR … or Ontario, OH …. (obviously can’t say Ontario out their Socialist-afornia)…..

    He moved there in February TexasWatchdog: Kwame headed to Lone Star State and last we heard he did have a HIGH PAYING job handed to him. WHAT FIRM IS IT AND WHAT IS THEIR TIES TO THE DEMOCRAT PARTY? is what we’d all like to know. He was whining to a court again recently that his couple hundred thousand Salary doesn’t afford him the chance to payback the restitution he was ordered.

    The a—— should be driving a used Chevette and living in a Studio Apartment in the worst part of whatever town he is in so the CONVICTED FELON can pay up. Who else is, no doubt, funneling him some funds on the side and under the table??
