Two statements on the death of William Long.

Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska:

“The stories of two very different lives with similar fates crossed through the media’s hands yesterday - both equally important but one lacked the proper attention. The death of 67-year old George Tiller was unacceptable, but equally disgusting was another death that police believe was politically and religiously motivated as well.

William Long died yesterday. The 23-year old Army Recruiter was gunned down by a fanatic; another fellow soldier was wounded in the ambush. The soldiers had just completed their basic training and were talking to potential recruits, just as my son, Track, once did.

Whatever titles we give these murderers, both deserve our attention. Violence like that is no way to solve a political dispute nor a religious one. And the fanatics on all sides do great disservice when they confuse dissention with rage and death.”

Barack Obama, President of the United States of America:

Governor Palin my family and I would like to thank you and your family for your service to our Country. God Bless

You know what?

I can’t even say that I am surprised by Obama’s lack of response. I am just wondering how he can look in the mirror each and every day and feel good about himself.

Ignorance comes in all shapes, sizes and colors.

no reflection

I don’t think there is a reflection when you have no soul

As a result, her statement is a reflection of those values.

Mr Obama is motivated by politics and self-promotion. He appears to have no core values, that most of us could identify with, which is reflected in his failure to recognize the tragedy that has befallen these young soldiers. There is simply no political or personal benefit for Obama to comment on it.

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘press on’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.” Calvin Coolidge.

Army Secretary

jeepnpat1 Tuesday, June 2nd at 10:30PM EDT (link)

Even when Obama was given the opportunity to speak specifically about the nomination of John McHugh for Army Secretary, he could not offer any consolence to the families affected by this tragedy.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/06/02/AR2009060203381.html?hpid=moreheadlines

The fact that the press won’t print it unless Obama says it’s so goes to show how the MSM won’t report any real news and give all the facts. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Isn't CIC supposed to speak up for his forces?

But I’m sure Bill Maher will soon go on record on how brave and courageous this soldier killer is. How it took real guts to ambush two unarmed men in a parking lot, shooting both, killing one.

As for a statement from the White House, I’m sure one is in the works. As soon as it has been focus-grouped, deeply vetted, purged of any patriotic sentimentality, and devoid of appropriate outrage.

That was my thought as well

Right_Again Wednesday, June 3rd at 8:00AM EDT (link)

A member of Obama’s military was shot and killed by a terrorist from his own side of the political divide. Obama sees no need to comment on it.

I know that President Bush would have addressed this soldier’s tragic death and would have been gracious enough to address Tiller’s death as well. It says a lot to me about Obama that he chooses to only address the one.

Being from Arkansas

Jonah Shumate Tuesday, June 2nd at 11:59PM EDT (link)

This is especially troubling to me. Its no more troubling than any attack anywhere else, but there is some sense of “this doesnt happen here” until it does. I live about an hour or so north of Little Rock and its very bothering to me that even here in Arkansas we have people like this, who, want to kill Americans.

But, I am also reminded about the house I currently live in. My house was the childhood home of Sarah Low. Sarah was a flight attendant on the first plane that flew in to the World Trade Center on 9/11. Her name is scratched in the concrete in our basement. Sarah, and her family here, were true patriots just like William Long. And, its angering to me that our President would put more energy, assumeably, in his trip to Saudi Arabia than making a comment about William Longs murder.

Is he afraid coming out against this would hurt his trip over there? Is he afraid it would stoke the fire of America and Islamic Extremeists? Is he afraid of speaking up for American values AND AMERICANS SO MUCH??? It makes me so mad when my fellow Arkansans are relegated to this level and a President who does not even take the time to discuss what happened down here.

My prayers, and I hope yours, are with William Long’s family and all of our troops who defend what we cherish so dear; our freedoms. And, I hope that you are willing to pray for a man who apparently has no place in his schedule to do the same, our President.

Any connection

Those teleprompters can be so contrary. Just don’t seem to work right when you need those special words.

Governor Palin continues to impress me with her ability to say the right thing when it counts, not just to placate Ms. Couric.

I had the privilege to see her in person at Dayton when John McCain introduced her to America. What a great family.

NO SHOCKER.

Rod_Patrick Wednesday, June 3rd at 2:16AM EDT (link)

If Obama makes a statement that denounces the violence in Little Rock, it would be inconsistent with the Liberals’ memes and anecdotes.

Obama’s silence on the death of LR soldier from the gun of a Yemen-schooled Jihadist is really NO SHOCKER.

We can expect the same COLDNESS through out his presidency.

Poor American soldiers!

Palin's response is presidential

davo119 Wednesday, June 3rd at 5:16AM EDT (link)

Obama’s lack of one is from a pandering, self centered political hack.

Never give in! Never! Never! Never!

Wait Moe, obama did respond forcefully:

johnCV Wednesday, June 3rd at 7:55AM EDT (link)

President Obama released a statement on the shooting.

“I am shocked and outraged by the murder of Dr. George Tiller as he attended church services this morning. However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence.”

Ohhh….you mean about the soldiers murdered by the islamist terrorist.

Than you’re right.
