Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D, PA-11) babbles about maglev trains.

Well, first he was babbling about how nobody expected unemployment to get this high, and how he didn’t vote for the stimulus because it wasn’t big enough, and then he got into the entire maglev thing… anyway, I’ve cut up and laid out the relevant bits.  It needs a soundtrack, but I couldn’t think of anything that would mix nonsensical and doom-laden well enough.

You know what would make me happy? The NRCC coming up with a good challenger to this guy (who, might I add, took money from notorious, now-raided-and-defunct lobbyists PMA Group). That would make me happy.

    But unfortunately you are dealing with an electorate in Scranton/WB that vote Democrat, no matter how big a crook he/she is. Look at the situation Luzerne County (WB is county seat) is in with their corruption. The people in the district know the Kanjorski is a sleaze ball, but vote for a Republican? Wouldn’t be caught dead doing that!

    Top it off, Kanjorksi brought in the Scranton big guns – Bill & Hillary. The idiots in the Scranton area are hopelessly infatuated with the Clintons. I don’t get it, but these people treat them like Massachusetts treats the Kennedys.

    Kanjorski is a crook, plain and simple and people can’t be bothered to kick him out of office. Sad commentary.

    in the last election. He was leading in the polls, at times by double digits, and, kept the lead until a week or two before the election. Then as KAT said above, they brought the big guns in, the Clintons, and Biden. Hillary and Biden both claimed roots to the area, even thought they had left the area when they were both small children. They obviously brought more ACORN troops in to insure a Kanjorski win.

    Lou Barletta was the first small town mayor to go after the illegals that have taken over Hazleton. One of the things he tried to do was fine landlords that rented to illegals. The ACLU came in and took it to court. An activist judge in Scranton ruled against Barletta, and once again the ACLU was successful in their dirty deeds. Most likely, more than a few of those illegal Hispanics voted for Kanjorski.

    I’ve read that Barletta may run against Kanjorski again. This time Obama won’t be on the ticket, and Barletta may have a good shot at it.
