Via @AmandaCarpenter here (and a related thought here) and Hot Air: how the Washington Post chooses to symbolize the opposition (currently somewhere around 53%) to the proposed Democratic health care bill.

Senator Demint with a sniper rifle.
This was… vile… of them.

Is that lawsuit bait?
LJ "Beaglescout" Miller Saturday, July 25th at 9:52PM EDT (link)Or could DeMint credibly hint at a lawsuit and force a craven apology out of the WaPo?

Every fascist group does this
Neil Stevens Saturday, July 25th at 9:59PM EDT (link)Pelosi gained power by portraying gays as vicious pedophiles in 2006 with the Foley thing.
Now Obama’s trying to incite violence against Republicans by portraying us as would-be assassins.
Which is why he won’t do a thing about that racist brick in the window.

Don't know why, but
blooch Saturday, July 25th at 10:44PM EDT (link)my first thought was of James Earl Ray’s perch. Then I read the comments at Hot Air and saw a couple of folks who had the same notion. Here’s the pic (#8) if you want to compare:

It could be any old ratty slum, I guess. But I’m quite sure Danziger wasn’t trying to evoke the Texas Schoolbook Depository.

Yep
Skanderbeg Saturday, July 25th at 10:48PM EDT (link)That was my reaction as well - that it was that indeed, which makes it VERY racially charged (and ultra-disgusting).
This is just the latest in a long string of vile and disgusting cartoons from Jeff Danziger. Strange part is that 20 or 30 years ago, he was a cartoonist in Vermont and did lots of hilarious “local color” cartoons that are absolute classics. Then he went down to the Boston Globe and became a psychopath. Go figure.

noufa Sunday, July 26th at 11:40AM EDT (link)Same guy who depicted Secretary Rice as a stereotypically ignorant plantation black woman. He has a history of cranking out stupid, racial, inflammatory cartoons.

Nice, isn't it, that the libs conflate "stopping this President
janis Sunday, July 26th at 10:19AM EDT (link)from bankrupting our country” with “let’s kill the President.” As usual, any attempt to point out the boy-king’s bad ideas is met with howls of outrage and “racist, vile racist!” Wonder what these same folks would have done if, during the Bush years, the Washington Times had had a cartoon depicting Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid as a sniper sighting in on George W.
Just thinking about it briefly, they would have howled in outrage, perhaps, then they would have gone into a huddle to see if it was possible to pull it off, all to the cheers of their rabid supporters.
The Washington Post is a rag and infested with disgusting small minded people...
JadedByPolitics Sunday, July 26th at 8:36AM EDT (link)I hope that Sen DeMint calls out the state run paper for their attempt to marginalize him. It won’t matter but I will email them and call tomorrow when they have actual people working in the customer service…leeches!
