Getting in their faces: St. Louis.

I didn’t put up anything on the Gladney Incident (allegedly, a conservative activist at Russ Carnahan’s town hall / aging event was sent to the emergency room last night because of an attack by SEIU people) last night because it was at the time single-source. We have gotten another report in, though – and more importantly, what looks to be video from the scene:

…which may be from the incident itself. It’s confused and chaotic, but it’s what we have right now.

PS: Don’t expect it to get less confused and chaotic, by the way.  This is real life, not the movies: you have to be very, very lucky to get footage of a spontaneous incident from beginning to end.  Getting more than half of it – which is what happened here, more or less – is merely very lucky.  You can help with that by making sure that everybody has a camera, of course… which is why I keep harping on people to get them.

PPS: On the other hand, there was a reporter on the scene – who apparently got arrested, too.  When he gets out of jail, there may be some clarification of what went down, after all.

I cannot believe I am watching these videos. What strikes me the most is the comparison between the average citizens and the uniformed union “attendees”. They obviously have no idea how this comes across – the angry SEIU t-shirt wearing, belligerent thugs as compared to the wide-eyed, shocked average people. These incidences are going to open a lot of eyes. I’m still on the fence about taking my daughter with me to a MA town hall tomorrow. I want her to see this but I also want her to be safe. I could plainly understand actual law enforcement taking action if a crowd becomes unlawful but for one citizen to go up against another is unacceptable. (And I’m being polite because of the rules.) I am infuriated over this – almost as angry as I am that my rep keeps holding private, unpublicized town halls we only read about in the paper a day later. These people have to go. Nothing but a complete turnover of Congress will suffice. I don’t know what Obama and his admin have on these people but they must all be “WIlliam Jeffersons” to have gone to such extremes as to recruit union thugs to act as security at their events. It truly does not get more un-American that this. As has been said over and over again, they have control of the House and the Senate – why the charade. Vote already and let’s see where the chips fall.

Don’t be afraid. These are either the birth pains of the new republic, or the death throes of the old one.

At least the thugs wore their “uniforms.”

from AFL-CIO President (John Sweeney) which “outlined the blueprint for how the union conglomerate would step up recess activities on health care reform” (link below)

And wow, we just had our first violent incident. How many millions of protesters have turned out since tax day? Maybe this wasn’t instigated by SEIU but that would be a heck of a coincidence.

Intimidation might be a problem out here, but you’re all welcome.

Instead, get yourself a good pocket stun gun. 2.5 million volts will work wonders on a union goon.

  • E Pluribus Unum

Those union thugs – you gotta be kidding me. SEIU shirts, and doing crap like that. Morons.

One woman was arrested for provoking people in line to get into the Carnahan event….that woman was a Carnahan staffer!!! See here for the little details that are available [h’t Dana Loesch.

Post-Dispatch which somehow managed to write their entire account of this incident and the rally itself without once mentioning the involvement of unions in general and the SIEU in particular.

I’m not holding my breath that he’ll give us the ‘straight skinny’.

Russ Carnahan Blames Innocent Victim for Unprovoked Beating by Union Thugs

    http://stlouisteaparty.com/2009/08/07/russ-carnahan-blames-innocent-victim-for-unprovoked-beating-by-union-thugs/

Carnahan issued a statement after the Thursday night?s forum, saying: ?Sadly we?ve seen stories about disrupters around the country, and we have a handful of them here in Missouri. Instead of participating in a civil debate, they have mobilized with special interests in Washington who have lined their pockets by overcharging Americans for a broken health care system.?

I did want to make a few observations.

Here you have huge SEIU members attacking peaceful protesters.
A white SEIU member attacks a black conservative?.where are the calls of racism? Notice when the police show up – The SEIU member cannot believe he is getting arrested. I guess he thought when Obama told them to push back twice as hard he would not get in trouble. I wonder if Obama will say the police acted ?stupidly? in arresting the SEIU member? Notice how the police are getting
nervous? They arrested the SEIU idiot for his own protection.
Obama should be proud – all of his years as a community organizer are paying off.

Folks if you wonder what Obama was talking about when he kept saying: ?I am a community organizer? well that video shows what dear leader was talking about. Keep the video cameras rolling – this will be gold for those candidate TV spots for the 2010 elections.

Americans for Limited Government President Bill Wilson today condemned the brutal beating of activist Kenneth Gladney in South St. Louis County, MO, at a town hall event sponsored by Congressman Russ Caranhan (D-MO) by SEIU members who Wilson said “appears to have been sent out purposely to intimidate the crowd and instigate violence.” Wilson said that a Special Prosecutor would need to be called “to investigate the possibility of White House complicity in this union thuggery.” The White House told representatives and senators ‘punch back twice as hard’ against opposition to Barack Obama’s government-run health care initiative, and “clearly some of their followers took the message to heart,” Wilson said.

and his lawyer. Gladney wasn’t there because he was for/ against Obamacare. He stated he was there because he was unemployed & was trying to make an honest dollar ( selling DTOM merchandise). Apparently SEIU acted studpidly, & thought he was there against O’care. His lawyer will be suing at least 3 attackers & looking into suing SEIU & those connected to them.

  • E Pluribus Unum

It’s likely it required no direct connection, though. If one can be found, that is stupid on them (which of course, *does* describe them).

When the Organizer-in-Chief makes a public call to “Punch back twice as hard”, the thugs running the unions know exactly what to do.

  • izoneguy

They should rot in jail for the rest of Obama’s term…..

  • Moriah

One of them was on the ground and someone was standing over him in the very beginning of the video, in an animated discussion.

    Who was that?

Then it was a white SEIU member involved in the scuffle with Gladney from what I could see.
