Rep. Carnahan and the Gladney Incident: the secret press conference.

There is a reason why the United States of America is a democratic republic, and not an aristocratic republic. The first generation of a particular family may be politically able; may, in fact, be very able. The second generation of that family may likewise be politically able. Sometimes – sometimes, and mostly if the family name is Adams – even the third generation is politically able. But it is unwise to bet on that.

Rep. Russ Carnahan (D, MO-03) is of the third generation of a political family. His last name is obviously not Adams – and does it ever show.

The video above is from his secret press conference (I am not joking) that nonetheless got crashed by reporters who wanted his reaction to the Gladney Incident (SEIU thugs attacking an unarmed flag vendor). For those who don’t have video, his reaction was to say nothing, flabbily.

I know that this is staggering to comprehend… but Russ Carnahan really is incapable of understanding that it is necessary to instantly and forcefully condemn attacks on unarmed men. The above video should have ended in twenty seconds, with Carnahan saying “Violence has no place in my campaign. SEIU is unwelcome in my district until I believe they understand that. Next question?” Of course, a man who would do that would not be hiding at a secret press conference and blaming the opposition party for his own side’s violence; but it’s fairly clear that nobody taught him better, and one has to start somewhere. The cowardice thing will have to be the next step.

Alternatively, one could just go with Ed Martin. Easier to get somebody who gets it than go with somebody who only got it because of who his ancestors were.

He looked liked he was high on marijuana.

I herd that Obama care will euthanize all sick white people creating an all black America.

    (and lost) student council.

This guy is bad. I really hope Martin’s team is collecting all this footage for next year. Carnahan sucks more than any other Congresscritter has sucked before. He must go.

Daddy (RIP), mom, sissy. All the same.

I thought the same thing. How could someone vote for that guy to be their voice in DC, and authorize them to earn a $174K/yr salary.
    Are you kidding me?

…he, more than likely, was helped largely by the tragic death of his father. Wouldn’t be the first time in political history when the scion of a tragic figure got entrenched in power on the grounds of sympathy over competence.

The blacks & hispanics will be in for a big shock.
I wonder if they will get denied because of being overweight?

Compared to white Americans, African Americans are at increased risk for lung cancer even though they smoke about the same amount.

It’s like being a Kennedy in Massachusetts.

2:18 into the video, Carnahan makes that accusation.

I’ve been following this pretty closely, and I can’t ever recall the House Minority Leader encouraging anyone to disrupt meetings. These people are going to end up getting buried with their own words.

I am pretty sure tht Ed Martin was at Holy Cross the same time that Dan McLaughlin and I were. he was a great guy, and it appear he is doing great things, and needs to be in congress ASAP and get this clown in the white suit out….

that Carnahan knew nothing about any of this, the way he tried to play it? The story has been all over the blogs at least, and surely he has staffers that follow the blogs.

It is interesting that there was a bg deal made of Gates getting arrested, with the media pushing it and even the POTUS involved. Here we have a black man beaten by thugs calling him a N____ and all of a sudden nobody knows anything at all about it. Right.

…in my part of KC. Of course, that’s the north side, where people regularly get told by the Democrats in charge to “shut up and pay your taxes.”

Russ seems like anything *but* a chip off his father. Not nearly as dynamic or interesting. Mel might have been wrong on a lot of issues, but at least he took a stand on stuff like this…

Go ahead. Make My Day. I know you’re voting for it. Here’s a brainstorm for ya, I Vote Too.

In the portrait that the Dems are painting for themselves, and thus one that the Republicans can use in 2010. These kind of stories must be spread far and wide, even digging them increases the likelihood of more people seeing them.

SEIU and their organizational cousins ACORN, are like the Basij in Iran. The Basji, are deployed and operate at the behest of the totalitarian clerical jihadist elite, to repress and beat-down the grass-roots expression of free speech and assembly by the citizens. Correspondingly, SEIU and ACORN are deployed and operate at the behest of the Fauxbama regime to repress any ideas that stand in the way of their jack-booted march towards a leftist utopia.

Granted, I hardly ever agreed with him, but I always got the impression that he was genuinely a good guy.

Now, Jean, Robin and Russ–yeah, they are not all that great. I’ve met Russ several times and wondered to myself if maybe there should be term limits on families serving. The man could fail a test that he has the answer key for.
