*How* much trouble is ACORN in right now?

Let me put it this way: after seeing the first part of the San Bernardino ACORN video – the one where the ACORN stooge is bragging about her husband’s death, the former running of her own brothel, and the way that she knows Senator Barbara Boxer – GayPatriot called up Boxer’s office*. He’s reporting that the Senator’s staff is pointing out in their responses that their boss voted to defund ACORN.  When Senator Barbara Boxer can see the writing on the wall…

DOOM.

Wonderful, wonderful DOOM.

PS: One of my colleagues has noted privately something to the effect that the problem with all of this is that Andrew Breitbart has raised the expectations of what constitutes a successful website launch to totally unsustainable levels.

Obama’s catch 22, What can he do? Investigate, and ACORN will spill the beans on Obama. Don’t do anything and it mushrooms out of control. Hard times ahead for BHO !

How ACORN even continues to function, under ANY name, is beyond my comprehension. This duo of twenty-something amateurs are amazing.

at least not with the DOJ. With the AG on to the CIA, racisum, advocating the next terrorist release and panty raids, there is really no resources left to launch any type of investigation on the president’s pet organization.
The ony real trouble ACORN is in, is with the voting public, and the lawmakers that fear them.

George Soros. And I have no doubt that he is figuring out how to create the next incarnation of ACORN. Hopefully, we have more James and Hannahs.

    ACORN is a criminal enterprise.

    Here’s how the head organizer for California ACORN is trying to spin the video;

The woman, identified on the video as Tresa Kaelke, appears on posted footage to be interested in cooperating the plan. However, California ACORN head organizer Amy Schur said the video is a gross misrepresentation of what actually happened.

“In this video, there are two actors who come into our office and who were messing with us. And our employee was messing with them,” Schur said.

She said that the complete and unedited video needs to be released to the public.

Schur said that in a moment not shown on the edited video, Kaelke asked the undercover “pimp” if he was joking and then proceeded to play along with the joke.

Furthermore, Schur said that Kaelke will sign an affidavit stating that she was not seriously entertaining the idea of cooperating with an apparent attempt to establish a house of prostitution.

“She (Kaelke) asked if they were joking and asked if they were reporters. They said they weren’t reporters and they aren’t. This is not legitimate news,” Schur said.

These videos show their character. As I’ve said before, if they were willing to help people they thought were child molesters, they have probably helped ACTUAL criminals in a similar manner.

In order to find these examples though, a serious investigation probably needs to be undertaken. Perhaps the IRS will be smart enough to audit all of the clients of the ACORN tax specialist in Baltimore.

I don’t know that we’d actually be lucky enough to rescue some poor girls from bondage, but I think it’s pretty likely that we’d find more than a few people with prior arrests for prostitution and drug distribution claiming to be performance artists, personal trainers, and other assorted service jobs with cash businesses and no inventories.

I read an article sometime in the last few days about ACORN and Cloward-Piven and have previously read something about Obama and Cloward-Piven. Today I was thinking that the real mastermind behind the Cloward-Piven strategy is George Soros. With all the Left wing organizations that he funds, all of which seem to have the same goals of draining the Treasury, sowing discontent, agitating for increased spending and government control, he must be purposely trying to take down the US.
I’m supportive of 1st Amendment rights and the right to petition the government but can what Soros is up to really be classified as a citizen merely trying to influence his government? Or is he up to something more sinister that can only be defined as war? I believe he is an enemy of the American people and our free republic.

The conservative movement has momentum with the whole ACORN thing so I think now is the time to go after Soros and his entire web of sappers.

Sorry but this latest video only shows ACORN guilty of hiring a crazy woman. The woman is obviously either crazy and living in a fantasy world to get attention or she’s a shill. Why would someone in a position such as hers, give that much personal info to perfect strangers?

This latest video does nothing to help the cause to expose ACORN for who they really are. In fact, it’s so bizarre it makes you think it was a set-up. I’m saddened that they felt the need to release this video before finding out the facts as to who Theresa really is. Is that her real name?
Is her history truthful? This is no way to catch a “Big” fish. ACORN is slimy but they are not stupid. Far from it!

I’ll just go ahead and mail them a donation right now…

    On second thought…

  • grinlap

in all the discussion about Acorn is that it’s largely a housing assistance organization. They help poor folks get mortgages to buy houses. Since most of these folks probably can’t afford the houses they bought there was probably a lot of “elasticity” in the information on the mortgage application that was helpfully filled out by Acorn. Sort of like describing a prostitute as a performance artist. With all the failed sub-prime mortgages out there how many can be traced back to Acorn fraud? Someone should be reviewing all mortgage applications that went through an Acorn office. They would have names of Acorn employees and home buyers, both of which might be ripe for prosecution.

  • http://brockwayfamily.spaces.live.com/ Erick Brockway

We were obviously all wrong about that Acorn.
I’d say Amy Schur had plenty of time to make that garbage up, watching the dominoes fall on the east coast.

  • http://www.thediscerningconservative.com discerningconservative

if a new video breaks everyday for the next few months. It amazes me the arrogance of these people trying to explain this away.

  • Freedomlover

During the nineties ACORN was intimidating bankers to make these loans to people who could not afford houses. They would have sit-ins in the lobbies of banks, protest outside and even would march into board meetings and just stand there not saying anything and then walk out. According to Consumer Rights League, 2008, “ACORN’s business model involves choosing a corporate target, attacking it, reaching financial settlement, and then beginning the cycle again with a different target.”

  • JoeG

OK, I can’t keep the joke up any longer. Schadenfreude anyone?

The US isn’t going to do a damned thing to ACORN. Yeah, they’ll pass a few disapproving things to get headlines in the MSM, but nothing will change. ACORN has a bazillion subsidiaries, as does SEIU, and the US can move money between appropriations with impunity. This whole thing is like peeing your pants in a dark suit; gives you a warm feeling and nobody notices.

The two brave young people who did the REAL journalism that the “MSM” won’t do, have shown just depraved this organization is.

They paid for this themselves…and are batting 1000 right now. Even if it turns out they only batted .750, we at least know for a FACT that no ACORN office EVER called the police!

Imagine if even your best friend said they were going to open a brothel using 14 year old girls as sex slaves! No DECENT human being…hell no HUMAN BEING would keep quiet.

In ACORN’s case they just wanted a piece of the action!

  • 1stRichard

An insane person in a sane society will seem insane but a sane person in an insane society will seem insane. Yes she is a ?Crazy Woman? but this was acceptable in that society, the society being ACORN. The only remaining question is how much of ACORN is ?Crazy??

Is it so bizarre it makes you think it was a set-up? Being from W/MA I think bizarre is normal for liberals and have come to expect anything. I get the same reaction, it is so bizarre most think it was a ?set-up?. Like when I say the liberals are not only after my guns but now, they want to take away my microwave oven, ban and regulate their sale. That is so bizarre you think it was a set-up, right?

    See for your self?

Has been Word of the Day for a couple of months.

For me, the schadenfreude really started when Sarah Palin owned the White House on the health care debate. All that everybody has been talking about since then is the “death panels”. The President had to defend himself against the “death panel” charge and give her copy on his talking points memo from the Joint Session speech. She owned them.

Then the healthcare debate was owned by average Americans, old people, conservatives, former soldiers & girls with $20 bills.

Then the Van “Truther” Jones firing.

    Then the Acorn tapes.

    Then…

It’s been a constant schadenfreude IV-drip for the last few weeks.

does the left start their hatchet job on Mr. O’Keefe and Ms. Giles? At this point, there’s likely no shortage of people who want to ruin them.

Bravo to them both for having the guts to do this.

  • mbecker908

First of all O’Keefe seems to be well schooled in trench warfare. They’re dribbling out the videos, letting one office after another make utter fools of themselves and then launching another round.

Second, check out the link to biggovernment.com in Redhot. They seem to have really pissed of the wrong guy.

Third, nobody is rushing in to defend them. NOBODY.

  • tankertodd

who’d just want to know the hours and the price.

  • Spartan4Life

    Let’s see….

    1. The Clintons and liberals(Barney Frank) in Congress expand the Community Reinvestment Act

    2. Banks are pressured by Community Organizers(Obama/Acorn) to loan money to people that can’t pay it back at “sub-prime” interest rates

    3. Banks make a fortune dumping the paper for the loans all over the world

    4. Banking system collapses when real estate prices tank

    5. Soros makes a fortune shorting the banks.

That guy should be in jail. Not walking around with the Democrat party in his pocket.

  • JoeG

Had that guy running with Sarah won.

By now we’d have some serious heartburn.

  • The_Gadfly

If he was willing to torpedo what was an effectively already convicted case with the Black Panthers in Philadelphia, he ain’t gonna let nobody in the FBI investigate The Big 0′s main ideological squeeze.

  • The_Gadfly

Baltimore prosecutor hinted at trying them for wiretapping. Paraphrasing O’Keefe he said “Go ahead punk. Make my day.”

ACORN has repeatedly tried the doctored, we knew about this, nobody at our offices actually does what we’ve been accused of, and of course with each initial release the “we need to see the unedited tapes” line.

Dowd has pitched the racist line, along with others, and the MSM has been doing the utter best to ignore the story.

But nothing is gaining any traction because the video makes it so blatantly obvious that ACORN is a criminal conspiracy. The only thing that surprises me is that nobody on the other side is telling them to cut their losses. Because with ACORN every time they try any of these spin lines, the spin loses a bit of credibility. Pretty soon nobody is going to take any of these charges seriously, even if the case is real.

  • The_Gadfly

This woman strikes me as more of a loon than reliable witness.

Doesn’t excuse ACORN for having a loon handing out what amounts to legal advice, but I think if she’s investigated she’ll turn out to be a more prolific liar than Bill Clinton was.

  • The_Gadfly

    http://biggovernment.com/2009/09/16/police-report-san-bernardino-county-investigating-alleged-homicide/

I called it on the loon part. The police have no evidence any of her husbands were murdered.

Of course, in page 2 of the comments things get a bit more complicated again. Commenter AlphaB notes that “The record shows that she has had at least 3 restraining orders filed AGAINST her by Ronald Kaelke under the domestic violence provisions of the court in San Bernardino.” In the subsequent replies he provides links to the courthouse databases, where you would have to run the searches yourself. He does provide what looks like a cut and paste of a court order for the case. I didn’t search to confirm, but I find him credible.

?Frankly, it’s not really something I’ve followed closely,? Obama said in an interview on ABC?s ?This Week,? aired Sunday. ?I didn’t even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money.?

Asked if he?s committed to cutting off funding to ACORN, Obama said ?this is not the biggest issue facing the country.?

?It’s not something I’m paying a lot of attention to,? Obama said.

So glad our President is watch out for our taxpayers money? NOT

    Patterico (if you missed it) wrote on his blog;

Andrew Breitbart, a driving force behind the recent revelations of ACORN?s utter lawlessness, is promising a ?blockbuster? from ?left field? next week. Speculation is rampant: what will it be?

Keep reading and it may just become obvious.

AB is right, everybody is on pins and needles, especially Acorn.
