Joe Wilson should sponsor House version of Johanns Amendment.

Yesterday, the Senate surprisingly adopted the Johanns Amendment (which denies ACORN HUD/transportation funds), 83-7. Obviously, House Republicans will need to introduce (and presumably pass, in a similarly lopsided manner) their own version, in order to make it clear to the Democratic-controlled reconciliation committee that this is not to be reversed when they think that nobody’s looking. This amendment will need someone to formally offer it – and clearly the choice must be Rep. Joe Wilson (R, SC).

Discuss.

for replacing a Congressman after his head explodes? Because if your suggestion takes hold, I think that would happen to most of the MoveOn caucus.

They’ll be cleaning brain matter off of the woodwork for weeks.

and it would be great for him to stand in the well of the House, get spanked by Pelosi and the Libs, for telling the truth, and then immediately say- Now I would like to introduce the Wilson House version of the Johanns Amendment. One can dream!

Once Wilson gets rebuked, I imagine he’ll get some floor time to respond. That floor speech should get lots of air time, on Fox at least. But, if Wilson crafts some good sound bites, he should get some through to MSM airtime.

Also, won’t some Republicans get a chance to speak in Wilson’s defense? They should insist on that opportunity. If the House leadership doesn’t let them speak up in defense of Joe, the House GOP should argue that Joe is being railroaded.

It’s important that the House GOP doesn’t overplay its hand. Remember when Wacko Pete Stark claimed, on the House floor, that Bush was sending American troops to the Middle East to get blown up for his own amusement?

Well, let’s not forget that Stark apologized on the House floor.

?I want to apologize to my colleagues, many of whom I have offended,? Stark began. He then apologized to ?the president and his family? and ?the troops.?
?I hope that with this apology, I return to being as insignificant as I should be,? he concluded though a voice cracking with emotion.

AFTER Speaker Pelosi officially rebuked him.

Let’s not overplay our hand here. Especially since we have some good cards we can still play.

He needs to make sure that there isn’t some name shifting already going on. If there is, all of their names need to be included.

to totally defund ACORN and “all of it’s affiliates.” It will be presented today, along with a GOP letter to Obama asking him to support this measure. I read it at Big Gov.com. I wish I could see the Queen’s face when this comes to her, and the Idiot’s face when he gets the letter. If it gets voted on, and the numbers opposed to ACORN are as high as they were in the Senate, Nobama can try to veto it all he wants. The article didn’t say who is sponsoring the bill, but, my guess is it has many co-sponsors.
