If we take back 45 seats, we make Biden wear a Little Lord Fauntleroy suit.

Via @baseballcrank, promises, promises:

Vice President Joe Biden said today that if Democrats were to lose 35 House seats they currently hold in traditionally Republican districts, it would mean doomsday for President Obama’s agenda.

Biden said Republicans are pinning their political strategy on flipping these seats.

“If they take them back, this the end of the road for what Barack and I are trying to do,” the vice president said at a fundraiser for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) today in Greenville, Delaware.

Giffords, Giffords, Giffords: where have we heard that name before? Right: she was one of the Democrats who ran and hid from her constituents during the August town halls.  As I recall, she was so scared of them that she only felt safe on a military base – which was an impressive display of cowardice, even for a Blue-in-Red Democratic Member of Congress.

Yes, definitely, she needs to be one of the Thirty-Five.  I’m thinking that it’s going to be Jesse Kelly for this one: his website is here and you can contribute here.

and he will probably say that Angus Young of AC/DC plagiarized the idea from him… right Joe.

  • blooch

Did Karen and Joe tag team on this tortured metaphorgasm?

“Biden said these House seats are Republicans ‘one shot’ at breaking the Obama administration?s agenda. But if Democrats can hold on to those seats, ‘the dam is going to break,?’he said, and a new era of bipartisanship will begin.”

How? With a roiling ,unstoppable torrent of pent-up moderate Republican fury raging down Conservative Valley and…something else, then a rainbow??

I’m going to stick with visualizing world peace.

  • poygankid

Another spineless wonder this August was Rep. Bobby Bright in AL02. He dodged the tea party buch and the rest of his district while holding a “telephone” town hall with cherry picked questions.

This chump rode in on the BHO coat tails by saying he was a conservative. Many of us know better. As mayor of Montgomery, AL he drove its finances into the ground leaving conservatives to clean up the mess.

Martha Roby is a true conservative currently sitting on the city council in Mpontgomery. She would be an excellent representative for AL02. With some national support, AL02 could be an easy take back for the Republicans.

Jesse Kelly is leading the Republican charge to take back this seat. His support is growing like crazy.

    Moe,

You forgot to post the best picture from the Jessie Kelly campaign site.

Is that a cute kid or what, of course all kids that age are cute.

    Mattheson UT
    Shuler NC

anyone have any candidates in above races they want to share with us please do

  • redtillimdead

She is very conservative, young rising star. I’d love to see Republicans send the first woman to congress from Alabama!

  • JoeG

    Against Schrader in OR.

He’s vulnerable as all get out. He only won because the R candidate turns out to have funded an abortion for his mistress.

So far I haven’t heard any good candidates.

If either State Sen Brian Boquist or Sen Larry George run, they’re the candidates the folks leaning like most do would like to see win.

  • SteveLA

Anyone know if the RNC has a point person for the Mid Term elections? Someone who is doing election race targeting for Republican party.

It would be great if whoever is running the Congressional Republican campaign effort would drop by and talk about how the Republican party plans to go after some of these “gettable” seats….hint hint to the Washington lurkers who can point out that RS is probably the best place to talk to ordinary Republicans on the Net to some of their CongressCritter bosses.

  • mbecker908

at a freaking fundraiser in DELAWARE!!!! Ya just gotta love it.

  • smitch61

Even a win by the GOP can not straighten this crap out.

  • Cheryl

I’m told there is a candidate for CA11, but I don’t know who.

It could be the wait to announce is to not distract from the Harmer campaign in 10.

  • Richard Mullins

I’m sure we can get Francisco Canseco again. He’s a conservative that’s been running since 2004(well in 2004 that was TX-28 and now it’s TX-23). He got primaryed out by Lyle Larson in 2008(Mr Larson is a Moderate) and hope he gets back to running again. I don’t live in the District anymore and neither do my parents(they are now in “Duck and Dodge”‘s district).

Read it too quickly. He’s running for STATE representative. Maybe next time…

  • Third Street

then the Dems are in even more trouble next year that anyone imagined. Should be Garamendi in a walk, though.

  • Cheryl

where he’s riding a horse and I’d swear it was a stunt double. I have no idea if there’s been any polling and G has the name recognition. The mayor of Antioch (a conservative R) got an earful (from TEA partiers)last week when it was rumored he’d endorsed Garamendi. He did in fact do so during the primary, go figure. Apparently the Harmer office and the mayor’s office are to meet.

  • proudgop

Any chance Bonnilla ( spelling off) might run again?

  • MikeKS

Another one is in Kansas-03, where I am, where Dennis Moore did a Giifords and dodged town halls all August. Now he’s even got a liberal newspaper columnist running against him w ho had endorsed him six times. The good news conservatives have ormer Rep. Patricia Lightner r unning against him. (http://www.patricialightner.com). She’s being quite aggressive early to build her name ID.

  • proudgop

I am glad NRCC is actually putting up a fight against people like Sanchez, DeFazio, Skelton, Berry, Snyder, etc. Its been a lot cycles since these guys have been challenged and they should.

There is no reason any Dem in Republican tilted district should get free ride

  • Richard Mullins

I really don’t know. He would be a good fundraiser for Canseco but as for running, he might be done for.

  • ktsub

Already filed his paperwork for TX-23. Good candidate, able to self-fund. Hopefully no primary this time around.

  • Mark D

Well, technically, it’s not a suit because it lacks a jacket. Regardless, I must get something like that for my 6 month old son!

  • Richard Mullins

I need to put his website in my blogroll. I really hope they don’t get any Lyle Larson’s to run in a Primary.

  • Richard Mullins

so you should be able to see it and click the link. I only have it on of my blogs right now and will place on the rest shortly.

    1) Money. She has over $1 million in the bank
    2) Tucson’s one daily newspaper, the Arizona Daily Star is in the tank for her.
    3) There are at least THREE people running for the GOP nomination. In 2006, when Giffords first won the seat, she ran ads against the stronger GOP candidate in the GOP primary!. The weaker candidate won, and Giffords walked into the seat. With no major primary opponent herself, Giffords will have plenty of cash to play tricks in the GOP primary, and the Star won’t say boo about it.
    4) If Kelly tries to appeal to CD8 voters by emphasizing his OIF service, Giffords will do what she did in 2008—remind everyone that she is the only member of Congress married to an active duty servicemember. (Her husband is an astronaut, but her 2008 ads neglected to mention that). Jesse will need something else to beat her.

  • UpLateAgain

    His eyes are open!

  • UpLateAgain

when Biden stops telling us that he’s worried about losing and starts assuring us the Dems are going to win.

  • E Pluribus Unum

it’ll be party time all over America, I’ll tell ya that. And my number is somewhat larger than 45.

  • Conquistadora

    1) Geography: she actually lives with her astronaut husband near Houston, TX
    2) Tucson’s one daily newspaper is nearly out of business – so who cares what they think!
    3) All the Republican candidates are 1) conservative, 2) young, 3) veterans – any on whom will be better representatives than Gabby
    4) the “I’ am married to an astronaut” doesn’t carry much weight when they actually live in Texas and he is not a combat vet vs Jesse Kelly, et al.

    5) Jesse Kelly actually has strong leadership skills built up by Marine Corp training to stand up for America.

    6) Gabby, although calling herself a “Bluedog” has a >90% correlation of voting with Nancy Pelosi. Is that the definition of “Blue Dog” we want for our district”? So far, she only votes against the Democrat mainstream when she has permission and the outcome is not in jeopardy.

“Biden said Republicans are pinning their political strategy on flipping these seats.”

Hmmn…winning seats…I suppose if he was a coach he could tell when the opposing team’s strategy was to try to score more points.

Glad to see Barack let Joe out of the bunker. Haven’t heard from him much lately.l

  • UpLateAgain

He is Obama’s desperately needed comic relief, and the ONLY thing about this administration that brings a smile to my face.

The amount of anticipatory glee I have while awaiting a Biden expostulation is no doubt directly proportional to the angst Obama feels with the same anticipation.

  • cmw

I’ve mentioned it on here before, but Texas 17 (Chet Edwards) is a seat we are going to pick up this year. Last year no one in the Repub establishment wanted anything to do with this seat, there was basically no support from the top, and a challenger came within a few points (closest House race in Texas). Now that we have their attention, this time there is more money and more national interest in this district, and we will finish the job.

Rob Curnock is the guy – check him out at http://www.robcurnockforcongress.com/ /a> .

  • http://www.hakubi.us/ Neil Stevens

And the NRCC is doing a great job, from my seat.

  • http://www.hakubi.us/ Neil Stevens
  • http://www.hakubi.us/ Neil Stevens
  • http://www.ronspage.com Ron

Mike Sodrel has tried a couple times to unseat Hill. Hill doesn’t deserve his seat witness his tirade at the most recent Town Hall meeting that was captured and put on You Tube.

Flip his seat to the GOP.

  • mosander

If we get a majority of Republicans, does that mean Nancy is not longer speaker of the House?
    Oh, Goody!

  • JoeG

Nancy, get out of my office!

  • mosander

It’s not Republicans that will fix the problem, it is ethical, principled people who do not compromise on those issues of constitutional ethics that will regain this country, regardless of party. Conservative principals are primarily the game of Republicans but some are lining their own pockets at taxpayer expense. Good candidates can will win without huge amounts of money. (Another problem that needs fixing). Each candidate should be given X amount of air time to campaign with, period. No more, no less. Then it is fair and stops interrupting the TV. I am so tired of seeing Obama’s face, I could scream. I’ve almost stopped watching TV because of it!

  • mosander

    Except Pelosi of course!!
