Outrageously outrageous outrage* of the day: Rush Limbaugh electric car edition.

Rush Limbaugh drives over Al Gore. Twice.

Which is a sign of professionalism, actually. As Hot Air’s own commenters note, most of us would have spent a considerably longer time running over the Cubslayer’s cardboard cutout. This makes more thematic sense: hit it once, back up and hit it again to make clear that this was deliberate, then go back to the race. And then wait for the gallant defenders of the helpless cutout start up… and never mind that 3/4ths of the complainers have watched Death Race 2000, cheering.

Although it occurs to me that they might not. After all, they have a clip now of Rush Limbaugh liking an electric car. Based on past experience, I believe that this earns him an indulgence from the Online Left on anything up to barratry (naval definition).

PS: I’ll take electric car advocates seriously when they start talking about how it’s a matter of vital national energy security to muzzle the anti-nuclear power fanatics.

*Stolen from Allahpundit. I think.

I love Death Race 2000

How many movies can you name, after all, that have Sylvester Stallone in them before he was in Rocky?

I adore you Rush

If Rush didn't already have the best cigars in the world...

…I would buy him one for that bit.

Well played, Rush.

Jay was beside himself

when Rush nailed Ed twice too.

Excellent DR2k driving technique worth bonus points imho.
Rush also tried to tell Jay that electricity generation makes the so called ‘green’ vehicle not so green.

I can't say I approve

I think this is a level of disrespect that should be beneath us.

We should be attacking him and his theories relentlessly, until he is exposed as the self-centered political snob that he is, and then cast him down as a beaten and broken shell of a man for trying to pawn his self-satisfying lies off on us.

But hitting a cardboard cutout of him in an electric car? To me it seems like the sort of shallow political childishness the left made famous (like trying to name a garbage treatment plant after Bush).

…I just can’t take this quite so seriously. It was a joke engineered by Leno’s guys, one that seemed to be taking a gentle shot at Rush and his philosophy. But he good naturedly took full advantage of it, and turned it around into something even funnier.

Rush is just cool!

Rush and Leno both had too much fun with this one. And Rush was SO pumped on Friday’s show talking about this. Wish he’d do TV just a bit more often, but he doesn’t and that’s what makes it special.

I’d run over Algore 10 times…

Government cannot be the solution when government is the problem.

Rush is on TV Rarely and it's special

President Pantywaist is on TV continuously and we’re utterly sick to death of him - already.

I love electric cars

I even worked on a solar car when I was a freshman/sophomore in college.

Electric motors have phenomenal torque and great acceleration. Their main problems are the short range and the time needed to recharge the batteries. The limited 40-or-so- mile range means they won’t replace gas powered cars, but they could augment them: One car for the breadwinner that they drive to work every day, and another car for hauling, long trips and more.

Oh, and I’d have brought a Nerf dart gun for OwlGore…

Would not make it to work in a car with a 40 mile range. I’d have to walk the last 10. Plus, my trip is through the Saint Croix river valley. Sure, I can roll down the one side, but it’ll suck the battery dry going up the other..

They have a long way to go. I’d rather have a efficient diesel. Like a Jetta.
