Breaking: Rep. Robert Wexler resigning from Congress.

Which is… interesting.  After all, FL-19 is a D+16 district.  On the other hand, his district includes parts of Boca Raton, which is another way of saying that there’s a lot of old people in his district.  Certainly his fellow-Democrat Ron Klein is facing a race next district over with Allen West.  But surely we’re not doing that well in the 2010 expectations game, surely?

Moving along, speculation is that Wexler’s up for the ambassadorship to Israel.  If true, this should infuriate progressives: while liberal, Wexler is also very strongly pro-Israel, not to mention involved with AIPAC.  Which might explain why the President would pick him for the slot – after all, the last thing that the USA needs right now is another foreign policy blunder.  That it’d be an affront to the netroots may be merely more lagniappe

It’s a huge problem in Florida … The old folks have figured out Obama has turned on them, and they don’t like it. Condo row is problem a really hot spot right now.

Call Sen Nelson and see what he thinks … 1/2 trillion in medicare cuts, not going to be pretty.

There is NO WAY a leftist like this this guy just up ‘n leaves a CongressCritter’s seat without some heavy guarantees of more power and more money – like a Czar’s office – or maybe, just maybe, somebody finally got something solid on good ol’ Wexy and was about to go public with it all. Hell, maybe O-Teh-Won was messing with his little blackmail book and flipped Wexler’s page open and made that ‘hit-him-with-a-frying-pan grin’.

By the way, the elders down here, especially Teh Eeeeevil Jooooooooooos senior citizens are barely breaking the surface of even remotely realizing that they’ve been completely sold down the river by people they’ve supported for decades, let alone the new kid behind the wheel of the bus, our beloved Dictator In Training Pants.

For the most part, they still think The D’s and Teh Mess-I-Yah are ‘the fo-sho’ nuff schiznit’.

    Sickening.

I just want to say I never tire of your referring to the leader of the once-free world as Dictator in Training Pants.

Made me laugh yesterday and made me laugh today. I’d pay real American (pre-Zimbabwe-style-inflation dollars) to see someone skit out your very apt title for The One. Maybe Mr. Frankin could play the role on SNL cause he looks so natural with a pacifier in his mouth, LOL!

Story about Robert Wexler on the O’reilly Factor last year.

I wonder if this might be an issue with his Florida constituents?

    Flori-duh law…..

Special Election within 60 days of resignation’s effective date.

Governor Charlie “George-Hamilton-Wannabe” Crist can’t appoint a replacement…….. unless he decides to say “‘screw it’ to our State’s Constitution and Charter.

Something is up. Guys like Wexler just don’t up and resign unless they have a good reason.

Actually, his parents probably threw him out, pissed that he wants to cut their medicare. The only residence he maintained in FL was his parents couch – he and his family really live in MD. O’Reilly exposed him, and he’s been flying under the radar ever since.

Old people are probably one of the highest turnout voting demos, and they’re pretty pissed at him and Democrats in general right now. Even the heavy Jewish demo in FL is probably not enough to help him out, but who knows – maybe he’s hiding something or actually up for the ambassadorship to Israel.
