What men may do, we have done.

The polls are opening; it’s up to the voters now.

It’s been a hell of a year, but in many ways it was nothing more than the prologue to the all-out political war that we can expect in 2010.  Nonetheless: today is the day that we start to take back that which was ours.

+1 for McDonnell

very low turnout in blue fairfax county polling center

I’m a banned Democrat who came here to promote the idea that Republicans are racists for disliking Barack Obama.

McDonnell/Deeds will be a beatdown.

It won’t even be close. Still, everyone to the polls for the Bobster. VA needs to send a message that the Indies are in revolt against Gleischaltung.

I think Doug gets above 45 percent, too, maybe 47-39 when the night is done. The rest go to Scuzzy.

What’s got me is the Jimmy Hoffa Zombie vote that will come out for Corzine tonight. You know that when ACORN and the SEIU are in the mix and the race is close, the Dead Will Walk. I have not the confidence in the Christie Campaign that I do in the other two.

According to Christie

they have legal teams spread out across the state. It’s a good thing that the Dems have already been on record pulling their voter fraud crap, as they will be watched much more closley. I expect to hear tomorrow that the NJ Gov race is to close to call. While they go through the recounts, and investigate all the possible corruption, Corzine still holds the seat. I can see another Coleman/Franken situatuion in the making. And, you can’t get them for massive fraud until they have actually done it.

Christie / Corzine

I’ve got a bad feeling about the Christie/Corzine election.

I think taking over SOS and County Clerks offices around the country to fight fraud would be a worthy lifetime goal for some individuals.

the Republican Governors need to shut down the Democratic front groups. If I were a Republican Governor, I would take whatever stimulus funds I could get, and then use those funds against them. It’s possible here in VA that the state Senate and House will be in Republican control after today. Virginia has the chance to be a model for all states, and others to emulate. I know their campaign team has aced this.

We can hope!

Most everything these groups do is illegal, yet they are untouchable. Their constituencies will NEVER support a Republican and the media will hate any Republican anyway but Republicans remain afraid to challenge and when possible perp walk the Democrat fronts including, yes, I’ll say it, some Black churches. We’ve been called racists enough now that it shouldn’t bother us any more and the Black churches are to Democrat power in the cities as the radical mosques are to the jihadi.

But, mark my words, should we win both these governors’ seats, the first words off the lips of the Republican leadership will be something about after such a long, hard fight, we need to reach out and bring people together. Well, dammit, I don’t want to be together with Democrats and the fools who support Democrats. I don’t want to find common interest with them. I want to throw them into the outer darkness and keep them there forever. I don’t know how anyone could need more proof than we’ve seen in the past nine years that the Democrat party is intrinsically evil and the people who are stupid enough to support them are not fit to exercise the rights of citizenship in a republican democracy.

Couldn’t agree more.
If only because it assumes, incorrectly, that Liberal Democrats and Conservative Republicans =>HAVE<= common interests.
In almost all things, they do not.
And falling for the lie as an opening gambit in the discussion marks a failed game plan.

Achance- I agree

that the Republican leadership will try to open the tent, and to try to be inclusive of even leftist positions, whether we win or lose any of the elections today. After supporting Scozzi, and then she backs out, and, endorses the Democrat, who did they blame? the Conservatives. I really do think the winds are shifting, and, it is happening not because of them, but, in spite of them. I see them losing more and more influence as time goes by. The Scozzi incident has cost them I’d say at least 7 of their 10 political chips.

There is a little known fact about the VA races today. Cuccinelli (Atty. Gen. candidate) is an unapologetic conservative, and at the beginning, the Republican leadership here in VA were afraid to back him, because they thought he was “too conservative” and that he would drag the ticket down. As of today, he has even a wider lead against his D opponent than even McDonnell or Bolling. Talking to our Conservative leaning talk radio host yesterday, at the rally, he said that Cuccinelli is in fact carrying the ticket. After he wins today, I hope that that fact is widely and wildly shown to any who think that conservatism is dead or in the death theros. One of his pet issues is “fair elections.” If he can bring the Democrat’s to justice for voter fraud (he has a strong law enforcement record), and, if he makes strides in ensuring, to the extent possible, that voter fraud can be severly decreased, those Dem front groups will have no purpose, and therefore dry up, as I believe you have said. I know it will be a long haul, but, in light of recent revelations, I think it can work.

And that post calls for a sig update. nt

I had a grade school teacher who likened the conscience

Achance (Diary) Tuesday, November 3rd at 10:46AM EST (link)

to a saw inside your head that had only one very sharp tooth. Each time you did something bad, the saw turned and that tooth bit into you and hurt you. But, after you’d done enough bad things, the saw had turned all the way around and there was nothing left for it to cut. Lots of things are like that; do it enough or have it done to you enough, and it doesn’t hurt any more.

What a difference a year makes

throwback59 Tuesday, November 3rd at 8:47AM EST (link)

Last year I had the feeling that I was about to lose my country forever. I woke up the day after with a text message from a client, mass mailed, stating how proud he was that he finally “had a president.’ I was sick to my stomach.
Today, I believe there is the possibility that this country can reclaim it’s soul. It’s only a small first step, but it’s a start.

After today's elections

izoneguy (Diary) Tuesday, November 3rd at 9:00AM EST (link)

E-mail him back and ask him how “his President” is doing…..

The point cannot be made often enough: Modern liberalism, as embodied in the Obama presidency, is the defender of the status quo. And the status quo is a road to economic ruin. Political forces cannot redistribute the wealth that the economic system does not produce.

is it me or do democrats assume everyone they know agrees with them and would welcome that kind of thing?

bannedtroll Tuesday, November 3rd at 9:35AM EST (link)

or do they just not care about offending people? I’ve gotten those kinds of broadcast messages before. Invariably, they’re always dems ramming their liberal puke into my inbox.

It's not just you.

At the outset of W’s invasion of Iraq some idiot in our company (from England naturally) broadcast an Everyone message for the Not in Our Name front. The company’s business was government contracting work, so we had an explicit policy of not sending political advocacy messages on company email (non-partisan, please do your civic duty and vote messages went out in the company newsletter, but were actually well vetted and written). Not a word for over an hour. I got so mad I finally hit the Reply button and gave what four in the reply (and you all know how timid I am). I of course was immediately called on the carpet and THEN the company sent out an Everybody email reminding people not to engage in that sort of thing.

As for what causes it, I think its an inevitable outgrowth of fascist groupthink.
