Pelosi fine with jailing the uninsured.

I fiddled with cutting down this video…

…of Speaker Pelosi admitting that she’s fine with sending people who don’t want to be insured to jail (H/T: Infidels are Cool); but I’m not all that happy with the results.  Which is interesting, because I’m also not happy with the notion of throwing poor people into jail just because Speaker Pelosi wanted to raid taxpayer wallets and pocketbooks for the benefit of the Democratic Party’s various special interest groups.

Again.

See also Hot Air, AoSHQ - and probably everybody else soon enough.

That’s because once they are in jail, they will receive government-run/taxpayer-funded healthcare!

I swear these people have lost all sense of logic.

Recanvassing shows NY-23 race tightens even as Rep. Bill Owens is sworn into House seat

Looks like Doug should have contested, if for nothing else than to deny Queen Pelosi a short term health care vote.

of unintended consequences is going to slap the stupid out of her, then again, maybe not.

and the rest of the cretins in Congress working to overthrow our Constitution. I’d like to see all their sorry a$$es in jail. Not joking.

  • JadedByPolitics

and don’t have insurance do NOT have to pay it…THEY DO! It will sit on their credit until it is paid and being on the Credit side of Administration I can tell you people DO PAY down their medical debt….it just takes them time!

The ONLY people who use the hospital as a FREEBIE would be ILLEGALS because they are using FALSE SS#’s so what say you Nanny? what are you going to do about that DEBT? nothing because ILLEGALS can do whatever in the hell they want to and our government does NOTHING to stop them!

  • lastrick

Wouldn’t it be more likely that middle class people would be tossed in jail — those that could afford to buy insurance but choose not to?

If they are truly poor, wouldn’t they qualify for “free” government health care?

  • http://hillbillypolitics.com Steph C

In addition, wouldn’t that make of people political prisoners with all rights revoked including the right to vote?

Loss of property, loss of income, loss of voting power, loss of…

Is this administration still considered a soft tyranny?

  • DONTREADONME

who the heck are you and what’s your point? I just read your last 7 comments over the last 9 months and I question your motives here. If you’re a moby get to the point and make an overtly leftist statement, if you’re here on good intentions then get to the point and make a contribution that presents an obvious benefit to the cause. Other than that, you’re wasting electrons. Yes, I have noticed you for 9 months and yet I am still amazed at your seemingly innocuous comments.

  • JustLeaveMeAlone

If this nonsense actually becomes law, we should all drop our health insurance on principle. They can’t put us all in jail, can they?

    Come on, Nancy. Bring handcuffs!

The poor are taken care of by the middle class who are forced to pay for something they don’t want.

think of themselves, it’s only God’s opinion and His judgment that matters. And He always sees to it that everyone’s account is paid in full.

That’s just the way He rolls, you know.

  • ldg3

As a caller asked Rush today,if she believes people who don`t pay for their own healthcare insurance are deadbeats who need to be forced to” pony up”, why aren`t people who are on the public`s dime, as far as socialist programs are concerned, deadbeats who need to be forced to pony up by getting off our dime? Would resolve the entire issue, wouldn`t it? So much for leftist logic.

  • gekster

will they be thrown in jail if they don’t “buy” healthcare.
    Worth pondering.

  • crosley

when the Democrats try and use conservative rhetoric to sell their liberal policies.

Pelosi is acting like this is”tough love” for making people take responsibility for paying for their health care costs and not being freeloaders.

If the Democrats really want to instill individual responsibility for Americans to take care of their own health care, how about NOT legislating socialized medicine?

because ILLEGALS are really “NOT” here….the Democrats are truly the stupidest people alive!

  • gekster

can’t jail future democrat voters, now can we.

  • JadedByPolitics

passes I say let us ALL drop our insurance and protest! I don’t believe they can put 50M+ Americans in jail and I suspect those are numbers WE can get….civil disobedience indeed!

  • merryj1

This nonsense about “xx,000 people die every year because they have no health care” (ie., insurance) drives me nuts!

But about the illegals using emergency hospital services and not paying: I’d opt for billing sanctuary cities and 401c (non-profits) activist organizations that enable and encourage illegals to come here. Let them put their own resources on the line to pay for their “compassion.” (Of course, that just might get some of those sanctuary city political leaders voted out of office, but that’s just a fringe benefit).

  • merryj1

For Pelosi et al to use the term “unAmerican” about anyone while pushing a bill that forces citizens to purchase anything is … well, it’s unAmerican! As far as Pelosi and her karma is concerned, I quite honestly would rather have to pay John Gotti’s karmic debt than Nancy Pelosi’s.

But having or not having health insurance does not necessarily mean one “can’t afford” it — many people, and I’m one of them, consider it primarily a parasitic business; prudence suggests carrying some sort of catastrophic coverage, but honestly, anyone who regularly spends as much on actual medical care as it costs for insurance, is really way too sick to hold down a job.

Most people, especially young people, would be better off putting the premium amount in a savings account, and going self-pay for their medical care; but that’s really none of the government’s business.

An intelligent liberal would reply that this bill does no such thing. With all the “myth debunking” they have sought to do the past several months, I’m surprised no one addressed that one. But I guess then they would have to acknowledge that Obama lied and income taxes would go up for the uninsured. You get put in jail for not paying taxes, not for not having insurance.

Then again, none of them have read the bill, so it would be no surprise to discover that they weren’t aware.

It was suggested to me to read a book on Mao’s Cultural Revolution centered around the 1966-1976 period. As I read it, I am horrified to see the similarities between our nation and the condition that China found itself in during this time. Not so much the actual situation (we aren’t coming out of a famine generated by the government…yet) but the attitude of the leaders of the government towards the people and their ideas of how to “re-invent” the way the people saw their country.

One similarity was Mao’s desire to re-educate the populace so they would regain their faith in the collective. It was called Socialist Education Movement (SEM). When it was explained in the book, I went “Uh, I think I’ve seen this before.” We are witnessing the same effort (done a little differently of course) in our public educational system. “mmmm mmmm Obama.”

    Spooky.

Sen. Akaka also says that the $750 penalty you will pay to the IRS when you don’t get health care insurance is not a penalty. Sounds like Obama when he was on ABC saying that the mandatory tax is not a tax. Unfortunitley the Government is not able to redefine words so lets call a spade a spade its a penalty Sen. Akaka and it is a tax Obama. The Sen. Akaka from Hawaii represents how out of touch these betrayers of freedom are they do not represent the people of America. Check out the video
