President to embrace fiscal sanity Real Soon Now.

Not Right Now: Real Soon Now (via AoSHQ).  Apparently the plan is to wait until after the current wave of spending, then convince the Democratic party to stop spending taxpayer money that does not, in point of fact, quite exist.  Except for funding a new jobs bill, which somehow isn’t expected to ‘count.’

But can he do it, after… oh, let Bryon York get this one:

I asked whether Obama, after presiding over the stimulus, the bailouts, the big Democratic budget, the House cap-and-trade vote, health care reform, and finally, a tripling of the already-high federal deficit, could plausibly position himself as a spending hawk. “Their principle failure is that they have allowed themselves to be defined as government interventioners and huge spenders,” the strategist told me. “If he becomes the great expander of government and the great increaser of spending, he’s going to get destroyed in 2012.”

Actually, the principal failure is that they are government interventionists and huge spenders - and have revealed this blatantly enough that independent voters have noticed. In other words, it’s not ‘If he becomes;’ it’s ‘he has become.’  That’s the primary reason why his economic marks are so poor Right Now - and why waiting for Real Soon Now is contraindicated.

Contraindicated.

It's very clear that "If he's talking, he's lying,"

Flagstaff Friday, November 13th at 4:53PM EST (link)

except on those occasions when he’s admitting that his policies will cause heating and electric costs to ’skyrocket.’

President Obama has a new lie for us daily. Day-before-yesterday’s was that the stimulus package has created or ’saved’ a million or so jobs. Yesterday’s truth was that the numbers relied upon by the spokesmen were from books that were more than slightly singed. Jobs were mis-defined, mis-counted, multiplied by ten, then doubled. ‘Five’ became ‘one hundred.’ Everyone but the administration admits it, but because the Obama insists upon standing behind his numbers the lamestream press acts as if there is some question about what is true.

It’s up to us to keep pressure on about every lie the President tells. We can’t leave it as simple error, or a different way of looking at things. Candidate and President Obama has been straight with us about almost nothing except his intention to pander to the radical left.

This administration is an unmitigated disaster for the United States, on every front. And this time there doesn’t seem to be a Ronald Reagan sitting in the wings to save us.

probably means just about the time he’s ready to campaign for ‘12 and then he’ll pull a Clinton and rob some entitlement program and replace the money with worthless vouchers.

If the Republicans get in power the spending will continue to increase just as quickly as under Obama.

Hmmmmm, i was struck by that line in David Brooks column the other day, whatever one thinks of brooks he’s not a dumb guy. While driving from Greensboro to Charlotte NC yesterday i was listening to NPR radio ” all things considered” where all the panelist were peddling this same line that Byron York referred to in the above post ” that after O gets his health care bill passed he will turn his attention to the economy & jobs”. My question is, will it be that easy, even if all this recent propaganda is true?

OK, back to Brooks line about Obama, is he correct and why did he write that. After all, didnt Obama vanquish the clintonistas and win the nomination to run and then go on to trounce Mc Cain? Yeah, i know, even the dems were tired of the clinton family drama and MAC ran a horrible campaign but still, theres no denying O got the job done and won.

Brooks may very well be on to something here, that despite all the stumbles & bungling of the Obama admin, it’s not going to be so easy to beat these guys.

There's a possible BIG twist here that will make Al Gore's head explode

Earlier I entered a diary based on the Politico article referenced by AoSHQ. It says that Obama may be willing to toss cap and trade under the bus next year as part of the new “I have to be a deficit hawk since its an election year” version of Obama. Of course cap and trade is probably a dead duck anyway in 2010 because it won’t pass the Senate, but he might as well try to take advantage of that.

Glad the bowing Pres wants to get at that deficit since he already spent our credit limit. I understand why Joe Wilson had to just scream ” you lie!” He’s counting on our wonderful public education system to make sure enough stooges still think he is a nice , honest guy.
