Al Franken bravely goes after GOP *staffers*…

So much for 'Minnesota Nice.'

…apparently, the negative fallout from going after actual Republican Senators was a bit much for the man, and of course he can’t just act like a mature federal legislator. Al Franken, remember?

Anyway, via Drudge here’s the latest loss-of-control:

Franken invited [Sen. bob] Corker to his office to discuss an op-ed that Corker penned in a Tennessee newspaper opposing an amendment Franken offered to a defense bill. The measure gave the employees of defense contractors who suffer rape or sexual assault at the workplace the right to sue in court.

The meeting quickly deteriorated when Franken began berating one of Corker’s aides, according to GOP aides familiar with the incident. Franken’s sally was so harsh that Corker told Franken to lay off his aide and direct the comments at him instead.

Franken’s tough approach came as a surprise because Corker scheduled the meeting to mend fences after Franken confronted him about the op-ed during an angry exchange on the Senate floor.

Franken also went out after another GOP staffer – female, of course – for the supposed crimes of Republican Senators. You almost have to feel bad for the decidedly junior Senator from Minnesota: after all, it’s been an entire year since the election, and he’s still just Al Franken. And he’s starting to subconsciously grasp that putting the title ‘Senator’ in front of his name won’t change that.

PS: In the unlikely chance that he ever reads this: make me respect you, Senator Smalley.

It’s just a matter of time before that angry, bitter POS hits somebody.

of his home State should dump his ass by whatever means needed.

I’d suggest inditing him for election fraud, arresting and trying him. No bail until all appeals are completed. Special act of the legislature to replace him in the office pending outcome of the trial/appeals etc.

I doubt it will happen though and won’t be surprised to see him as the Senator for life from “his state”…

in other countries like this one you can bet Franken will be at the center of it, having thrown the first punch, no doubt.

all the good cheer. Maybe a glass of wine or two.

God Bless You, Jim. Merry Christmas!

    Brave Sir Franken, indeed.

Remember Cynthia McKinney (sorry)… she never really suffered for her hitting a Security Guard after she forgot to display her ID…

Mercifully it did help expose her brand of crazy and she was unselected and unelected…

I imagine there’s at least one Republican Senator that would take the opportunity to beat the living crap out of him.

Maybe we should buy canes for all the Republican Senators to use on Franken just in case he does throw a punch someday.

  • Vladimir

There was a (2004 Kerry?)campaign video taken at a rally at Carleton College where Franken showed his stripes. One of the 5 conservative students had the audacity to ask a difficult question + Franken uncorked on him.

Taking after senate staffers is taking on bigger prey.

  • qsclues

I’d like to clarify that we didn’t actually vote Acting Senator Al Fraudken into the Senate. Yes, it is our fault that the vote was close, but be sure to blame ACORN and a few other weasels for the fact that he is currently our (acting) Senator. (I will consider him an actual Senator once he wins an election.)

… when he and Davis ‘hosted’ a pay-per-view Grateful Dead New Years concert. Listening to his inane babbling just about ruined the experience.

than he was as Stuart Smalley. When Al was on SNL it had pretty much Jumped The Shark by then.

If only he was playing with Monopoly Money instead of real money like it was Monopoly Money.

I’ve always assumed that Stuart Smalley was a fictional character. But maybe Franken really was abused and became an estranged boy. Instead of morphing into a self-help hero, her morphed into an a**hole.

what a low-class piece of crap. Anybody who takes cheap shots at people under him, people unable to fight back on equal terms is a coward, a bullie, and a punk. In better days, when the Senate consisted largely of honorable men, he would have been expelled from the Senate.

The whole state of Minnesota should be embarrasssed by this idiot.

  • aelie

That sums up my point. Minnesotans should understand that Franken is the face of their state to the nation right now. Pressure him to turn down his outrageous acts before he does more damage to your state.

  • suej

    Clown

He should have just pissed on Franken’s leg and been done with it.

As a former Minnesotan and a current Tennessean I wish that Corker had popped the POS. Franken is just a time bomb waiting to explode. I’m actually surprised it’s taken this long. I may not agree with Bob Corker all the time, but Bob Corker is thoughtful, laid back and a southern gentleman. He picks his battles but isn’t the passive aggressive bully like Franken and so many on the left side of the aisle. Like Jesse Ventura, Franken has a thin skin, thick skull with not much matter between the bones. Both of these people are the worst of Minnesota and how they keep electing scum like this is beyond my comprehension.

Frankin is making our campaign commercails for us…

  • Alone_in_the_Dotte

… on Earth would Corker want to “mend fences” with Franken? More of the same “my-honorable-friend-from-across-the-aisle” nonsense.

  • ericstenner

All of his actions scream of a very small man with a chip on his shoulder. He cannot debate on ideas (really goes without saying – he is a liberal) so he just yells louder to distract from the fact that he is a vacuous joke of a Senator.

One of my wishes for the new year is that Al Franken gets punched in the face on the Senate floor.

  • izoneguy

    He just wants his residuals….

This 6 year stint should end his entertainment career….

Look at how Arnuld has turned out. (Not like he needs the money)
Maybe he can lend Kalifornia a few billion?

  • RBMN

…wisdom Al Franken ever showed was to realize immediately that the way you win a state-wide recount in Minnesota is not with ballot counters, but with sharp lawyers, and lots of ‘em.

  • redtillimdead

Quite a few clowns to flush out the senate in 2014.
    Top of my list-
    Al Franken
    Mary Ladnrieu

  • RedBeard

…the guy across the aisle is little more than a fecal microbe.

  • RedBeard

Well, slightly less than half, since Franken won by fraud.

But still, the fact that so many in Minnesota saw fit to elect a man less qualified than a braying jackass is quite troubling.

  • red_refugee

Even after Stuart’s extra votes magically appeared in the “recounts” he had less than 42%. What MN needs is runoff elections.

  • http://www.hakubi.us/ Neil Stevens

Runoff elections disrupt the ecology of multiple parties.

If you want to vote third party, vote third party. Don’t expect to get to come back and vote D or R later.

Is there a anti-Al Franken website like this one Ben Nelson has enamored?

Considering Al’s gutter talk style, perhaps such a Retire Al Franken site could be aptly named www.givealthefinger.com (heh)

are also stupid enough to vote for Senator Smalley. In Minnesota, we obviously have a majority who simply aren’t fit to live with citizenship rights in a republican democracy. Unfortunately, we are approaching a National majority that simply don’t have the knowledge and habits of mind to function as a free citizen in a republican democracy.

I don’t have an answer that doesn’t offend our sense of entitlement to universal suffrage and equal exercise of civil rights but if we don’t find that solution, rule by a degenerate mob is inevitable.

  • vondutch

at least in the last generation or so. Liberal farmers appear to be an oxymoron, but it is sadly true. Same for Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and Michigan. These states are dominated by farm subsidies and unions. Throw in spartan cold, and you get Al Franken, Barak Obama, Kwame Kilpatrick and Tom Harkin.

  • penguin2

who initially was allowed to vote. Of course, I am glad for womens’ sufferage, but when the voting public votes out of ignorance vs knowledge and awareness, it is tough to swallow.

BTW Art, did not get to wish you a Merry Christmas yesterday, but hope you had a relaxing day (though that can be an oxymoron, when talking about Christmas), but God’s Blessings to you and yours and I will remember your son in my prayer intentions.

  • Achance

and I hope you and yours had an enjoyable Christmas.

We had a peaceful day; always a question when the boys are together. The only one who had a bad Christmas was the older boy’s dog who managed to run afoul of all three cats at the same time. I don’t know exactly what he did but by the time I got to it, there was a furball of three cats and one screaming dog at the door to the garage. I suspect the dog made some error in butt-sniffing etiquette with one of the cats and then the other two piled on. He’s a bit the worse for wear but has no lasting damage. He is however giving the cats a very wide berth.

And thank you for the prayers for our son.

Jesse ‘the body” Ventura, and Gov. Terminator; What would John Adams think?

When the movie Predator was released back inthe’80s it would have been absurd to think that there were two future governors on the screen. But these days absurdity knows no bounds in politics, so we get Stuart. Who’s next?

  • Common_Cents

I don’t know what’s in the water here but something just isn’t right in the land of 10,000 lakes and two crap senators.

“Frank”ly at least we know he is an obvious POS. Franken will show us what is really wrong w/ the left. He can’t help himself. The good thing about Al Franken is he can’t help himself from being a jerk in public so at least we’ll know that he is all things horrible. Franken will be a dispensible short term attack dog to be sacrificed. He’ll do little damage in his term but will actually be the real face of what the LEFT embodies and thinks to themselves and in their closed door groups.

The even bigger problem is the left wingers who appear to be moderates that blend in with everyone, doing their bidding silently behind closed doors. Those are much bigger problems.

Nobody ever mentions Amy Kloubachar. Admittedly I do not know her voting record but I imagine she is a milk toast nice lady who follows DEM orders to the T. She’ll probably stay in the senate as long as she wants while rubber stamping every left wing agenda, never taking any principled stand(if anyone on the left has principles).

  • johnt

Anything to change the subject for a political faction increasingly losing it’s mind. In any case nothing serious to the left, Franken may even be the future.
Physical assault next, with Al a real possibility. I do hope Minnesota is proud.

  • lukematthews

I concur. The vote was skillfully and fraudulently manipulated by our Secretary of Fraud, Mark Ritchie. Franken was not elected, however, he did garner a large enough percentage initially to tip the election into the province of Ritchie’s fraud machine. He is an embarrassment to the state but certainly not any worse than many of the other useful idiots present in the Senate. Franken’s just louder and more obnoxious in his presentation of stupidity.

  • lukematthews

Empty- headed Minnesotans blithely watch as nice, little Amy does a number on our nation. Angry Al just plays follow the leader to whatever she tells him. Actually, she is the good little foot soldier of the far left. She’s practically Rachel Maddow’s BFF. She was also part of the manager’s amendment to the atrocity they call the Senate healthcare bill. She’s running around bragging about helping craft a liberty-stealing boondoggle that taxes everyone, covers very few people, and increases the costs of healthcare dramatically. We are going to make sure and preserve her braggadocio and feed her those words in three years.

  • chbroussard

You get what you vote for. If enough of the people in Minnesota would have voted against this idiot, it wouldn’t have been so easy for him to win through fraud. If voters don’t take the time to research who they’re voting for, then you deserve what you get (just like BHO). Sad thing about that is that those of us that didn’t vote for these clowns end up having to pay the price too.
