FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

Scott Brown (R, MA-SEN candidate) moneybomb today.

The Scott Brown campaign is aiming for $500K: they’ve gotten $488,724.25 $493,754.84 $499,219 (stop that!) as of 3:56 PM EST.  No cavalry’s coming for this one, folks: we’re it.

…OK, they blew through over ten grand raised to hit over $500K in the five minutes that it took me to port this over from my personal site.  So let’s just say that they’re aiming for $750K, all right?

Moe Lane

PS: It means enough that I put some cash up myself; the amount won’t take food off of my kids’ plates, but it’s important that I contribute something.

I’m not sure that’s what the Brown campaign had in mind today…

    :-)

  • ilgop24

keep tweeting facebooking and emailing, it’s great to see this response. Hope that a large portion of it is coming from Massachusetts

  • AnnaD

at 4:20 PM. That $750K is lookin’ better all the time.

  • kmacwayne

Encouraging to see folks coming together and proving with our wallets that we’ve had enough! Every dollar puts us that much closer to stopping the mayhem the 111th congress and this administration is creating. Slow them down, make them think, make them hear us!

  • RedBeard

    Amen to that.

Give what you can, folks, the more the better, but don’t be embarrassed to give a small amount if that’s all you can do. Every dollar is important.

    You should get a commission.

We’ve been covering the moneybomb all day and making predictions at http://mittromneycentral.com/2010/01/11/its-moneybomb-day-for-scott-brown/

I’m very glad to see Race42012 and Red State devote a front page post to this. Scott Brown’s facebook account just made it’s first reminding to it’s supporters a little over and hour ago. Now that the moneybomb is getting more coverage, who knows how much Scott Brown could raise today!

  • 77redcounties

but if this pulls off I will smile for a week. Dems, will they say Bush caused it or global warming, perhaps even CO2?

  • http://ruminationsaspirations.blogspot.com jonbingham

    618K and counting!

  • Stan(ley) Pruss

I’ll bet Scott Brown’s money bomb is lots of small donors. Where does Coakley get her money? See her fundraiser at

would actually prefer that they secede.

I don’t think they normally endorse Republicans

  • scarlos

I only wish I wasn’t so darn broke so i could contribute more.

  • Swamp_Yankee

It the Boston “Glob” that is the NYT’s soul sister.

Brown also got the third largest paper the Worcester Telegram, a NYT rag.

  • Mayhem

I’ve been reading that they are clocking in at about 50k per hour. With 7 hours to go (5 pm EST) and a total of 625k raised so far, that would put them pretty darned close to 1 million raised.

  • mbecker908

the NYT’s little whore in residence. They own it.

  • Swamp_Yankee

But they were actually just as liberal if not more liberal before the NYT bought it. The NYT actually fought the Glob unions.

They’ve been in the tank ever since they destroyed Ed King.

  • JadedByPolitics

    ….

  • mbecker908

the Glob was just about a “newsworthy” as the Berkeley college newspaper.

  • swami7774

….the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune, whose endorsements lean right.

Scott is meeting with the the Cape Cod Times tomorrow. It’s fairly consistently left, but could surprise this year.

  • Fallon

I haven’t received email confirmation of my donation, yet, which makes me believe they are still raking it in fast and furiously. How fun.

    .

  • http://www.neoavatara.com/blog neoavatara

In this economic environment, and in a special election, to get this type of reaction from the base is quite impressive. I have donated, and if you believe in the cause and are able to, you should too.

  • discerningconservative

It wasn’t much, but I sent what I could afford. I also called some family members and asked them to send what they could. I’ll call some of my friends this evening and encourage them to donate as well.

  • http://www.mysimplehomegarden.com tbaleno

I wonder if they will raise the bar again. I would like to see how close to 1 million he could get.

  • joayn

    And it’s still EARLY!!!!

  • http://www.mysimplehomegarden.com tbaleno

I think this is going to be the real goal. Not sure if he will get this one. But I’m excited to see. I’m so tempted to donate again.

  • billyd

    He’s debating Coakley.

On a personal note, i just made my first ever donation to a political campaign. $50 to Scott Brown. I’m completely broke, but i can drink water for the next month rather a gatorade or a soda to make that money up.

  • http://conservativemountaineer.blogspot.com/ conservativemountaineer

for a total of $100. Wish I could send more, but there’s also Pat Toomey here in PA, Michael Williams Marco Rubio, and Healy (sp?) in SC.

  • JadedByPolitics

I think Brown can pull this thing out. I will be PRAYING as I haven’t since the week before Christmas that he can and that the fine people of MA will give him two years to prove himself and bring DEBATE back to DC!

  • lorig77

    nt

  • NeoKong

Coakley came across as your typical tax and spend liberal spewing out her empty promises that no one believes. She looked like a scarecrow compared to Scott Brown. He did good. He was well informed.
I gave him some more money too.
The Kennedy guy came across like Rick Moranis from Ghost Busters.

  • Power_Pro

    Okay? I just sent my

    original $25 commitment plus

$17.73 in honor of the first Boston Tea Party

  • swami7774

….because many info-challenged Dems might think he’s the OTHER Joe Kennedy.

  • AnnaD

To all who wrote they gave “a little bit” or “as much” as they could, DO NOT feel bad about giving a little bit of money. Every dollar counts. Even a $5 donation is important because if 1,000 people give $5, well, you can do the math. We in MA are grateful for all your help. It’s time to take back our country.

  • JadedByPolitics

politician which is why he WILL pull votes from her!

  • bestdeception

It ramped up from $830K at 6:30 CST, to $930K now. Hopefully $1 mil should be easy. Gotten a handful of people way down here in the south to help out up there. Anyone signed up to make phone calls or text?

  • http://www.mysimplehomegarden.com tbaleno

Any one able to give it a kick start?

  • Jaimo

$984,000 +, but I think the site crashed.

  • bestdeception

It’s been stuck at $930K down to the penny for the last 20 minutes or so. Now the site is down. I’m assuming he is close to, if not over $1 mil by now, but his site is down.

Now, is his site down thanks to Net Neutrality, or too many donations?? Just a thought.

  • wennejunk

    See Mish’s site: http://globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com/2010/01/massachusetts-miracle-republicans-may.html

    $100 from me

  • Jaimo

They hit ONE MILLION DOLLARS and then the site went down again. Probably from too many people trying to access. It was down a few minutes ago then came back with 993,448 and now ONE MILLION DOLLARS.

    Awesome.

    Every little bit helps.

  • http://conservativemountaineer.blogspot.com/ conservativemountaineer

I’d drive up there from PA to help any way I can. (I have $100.)

My next best effort has to be calling from home (or work, LOL),something I’ve never done before… but I have a few questions for those of you who have/do.. (my 1st experience as a poll-watcher in Nov 2008 in a HEAVILY minority polling place was an a real eye-opener)…

    1. Do you have to call a set number of potential voters?
    2. What if they give you 500 numbers.. 1,000 numbers… and you can’t afford to make 500 or 1,000 calls?
    3. What do you say?

I’d hate to commit to something and then not be able to deliver.

  • http://conservativemountaineer.blogspot.com/ conservativemountaineer

I contributed $100. I have more than $100… at least, until the ex-wife-to-be gets done with me.

  • mbecker908

You call in to a call center number and they actually make the dials for you. You get a script, you talk to the person and when you end the call, you don’t hang up and they connect the next number. It’s like an autodialer.

You can make as many or as few calls as you want at any time between 9am and 9pm in MA.

Click this link and you’ll see a big bar that says “Make Calls From Home”.

  • mbecker908

    send him $100 for her.

  • cableguymn

    I don’t want to ruin it…

    Wow…

He had to know at some point a question like that was going to be asked. That was a good answer to it.

    1.05 million now.

  • swami7774

“Not the Kennedy seat or the Democrat seat, it’s the people’s seat.”
    Perfect. Just perfect.

  • proudmarinemom

The debate tonight may well have changed the History of the United States of America.

Scott Brown is emerging as a strong, intelligent, articulate leader.

if what you mean by “our future leader” is the Presidency or something of that sort. OTOH, if he survives in the Senate, I can see him becoming a ranking member of one of its various committees without incident, and he should make for a good independent voice for the GOP.
