thought would be the surprise. If we win, I am happy for the people of Massachusetts, to finally break free from Decades of Democrat cronyism and control.

Scott Brown, the dark horse, stirring the people of a state and a nation.

  • mbecker908

Back in October TheBoyPresident™ showed up in Boston for a fund raiser. Not only did he not fill the hall, CodePinkos, etal were picketing him.

They couldn’t get a lousy 3,000 people to show up for TBP on what is a nice day in January in Boston. Where was SEIU? Oh yeah, probably at Scott Brown’s rally.

I just watched Coakley and Obama speak at a sitting room only rally in Boston. Fox news.
She gives new meaning to to the phrase “Stump speech”. She is as dumb as a stump and Obama not much better. What does he have against folks that drive a pickup?

  • proudgop

Multiple advisers to President Obama “have privately told party officials that they believe” Martha Coakley (D) is going to lose Tuesday’s special election to fill the Massachusetts U.S. Senate seat, several sources told CNN.

“The sources added that the advisers are still hopeful that Obama’s visit to Massachusetts on Sunday — coupled with a late push by Democratic activists — could help Coakley pull out a narrow victory in an increasingly tight race against Scott Brown (R). However, the presidential advisers have grown increasingly pessimistic in the last three days about Coakley’s chances after a series of missteps by the candidate, sources said.”

Also Charlie Cook just moved race to lean Brown

The Cook Political Report continues to see the Massachusetts U.S. Senate race “as very much of a Toss Up,” with Scott Brown (R) holding onto a very narrow, single-digit lead over Martha Coakley (D).

“Given the vagaries of voter turnout, particularly in lower participation level special elections, this race could still go either way, but we put a finger on the scale for Brown. Last minute Democratic attacks on Brown have driven his negatives up some and slightly diminished the incredible intensity of support that Brown enjoyed, but it looks more likely than not to hold.”

Go Brown! As someone born in New England and spent 4 years in Mass I never in my wildest dream thought a Republican could be elected to federal office. This is so inspiring!

  • swami7774

Don’t mistake cheers for votes. Many a candidate has said he feels “a groundswell” during a campaign’s final days, only to come up short.
This is not about who draws more people to a rally. It’s about turnout.
It’s also about election day shenanigans, which is why I hope Brown is properly lawyered up.
Pretty sad we have to think that way, isn’t it?

  • louisiana

Wish I could have understood what the heckler(s) were saying. O tried to hide it, but he was some kind of pissed. Lord, I do hope Brown wins on Tues. & wins by enough votes to void any votes they get by cheating.

  • Dan Downey

Merriman River Group released the results of a poll today at 2:30 … Brown up 50.8 to 41.2%. 6.2% unsure and 1.8% for Kennedy. 565 registered voters, +- 4.1%. Taken 4-8:45 PM on Jan 15.

  • malbis

that jumped out at me while listening.

First, “anybody” can not buy a truck in Obama and the Democrats America. With unemployment so high and the economy still bad, car and truck sales are way, way down. That was a Marie Antoinette-like mistake on his part. It would be nice if somebody in the media picked up on that, but that would be even more of a miracle than Scott Brown winning. *gr*

Second, the “I was going to wear my White Sox jacket” line Obama used just calls attention to Coakley’s Curt Schiling and Fenway Park gaffes. I can’t imagine why his speechwriters would have done that unless they really do want Brown to win so they can spend the rest of 2010 blaming obstructionist Republicans in the Senate for all of the problems in America.

again, Cautious Optimism and continued push, Push, PUSH, to ensure all on our side DO NOT let any external force sway the FACT that they need to be out Voting for Brown on Tuesday — no vote for Brown can be taken for granted whether one believes he is way ahead or way behind!!!!! Sure we agree on that, but thanks for the info as I had been monitoring CNN and MSNBC and hadn’t seen/heard too much, but rest assured they will do all they can to provide MSM bias to lay the groundwork to shape, rather than just report, the Election in this last remaining hours.

Today’s rally was incredible. The building shook – and I never got in. The best part – the thousands outside breaking into God Bless America. FOrget about Massachusetts being a blue state, today it is red, white and blue – rapidly turning Brown.

Just 48 more hours of hard work and we will deliver for you. Get on brownforussenate.com and make some calls. I’m hearing people say how impressed they are by calls coming from out of state. Well, when Carl Cameron says there were only about 2500 in the Hall, we can’t believe him, ’cause he’s a wingnut with Faux News. No, you need to go over to a real news source, like the Boston Globe, which is reporting that attendance for Obama’s rally was not 2500 but … 1500. http://www.boston.com/news/local/breaking_news/2010/01/a_long_line_wai.html

According to Northeastern University’s Athletic Department, capacity at the Cabot Center is 2500, so that would make it about 60% full. The Center is named for Godfrey Lowell Cabot, The Cabot Company, founded by Mr. Cabot, wasn’t exactly green – It made carbon black, or soot, for coloring tires and such. A relative of Henry Cabot Lodge, Godfrey Cabot was, of course, a Republican.

  • mbecker908

Dems outnumber Reps in MA probably 5 to 1. If they can get the previously “not-likely-voters” out they’ll likely break to Coakley.

OTOH, it’s gonna be sleet and snow on Tuesday.

  • http://www.ssce.net/Web-Articles/Web-articles-indexed-authors.html#authors-l JLenardDetroit

most of that 6% as whiney Democrats that will still probably pull the JackAss lever, if they show up to the Polls (and hopefully will just stay home). It is even amazing that this is a 50/50 potential proposition, since we’re talking MA. However, gotta keep pushing, cuz’ if that does indeed put this at 50/47 it is well within the MOE and certainly within the MOA. Can’t wait to get to Tuesday and get on with the only Poll that matters.

  • redtillimdead

In the more Democratic western MA and Boston, there will be more sleet and snow. Coakley is also from Western MA. In Eastern MA, the more Republican area where Brown is from, it is supposed to be just a little bit of snow and rain. Brown supporters are motivated enough to get out in the snow and rain ( I hope!) but Coakley supporters aren’t

  • http://www.mysimplehomegarden.com tbaleno

The Democrat establisment still don’t believe the polls that most independents are breaking HEAVY for Brown. They also don’t believe that 20% of their OWN party is goijng with Brown.

They are thinking as if the Polls have Brown 5% behind. If he was then a low turn out would favor the group with the most intensity (brown.) Of course, brown is ahead so a heavy turn out probably won’t make a difference. But don’t tell the Dems that.

  • http://www.ssce.net/Web-Articles/Web-articles-indexed-authors.html#authors-l JLenardDetroit

the NY23 loss for this MA-Senate seat ;-) lol….. the Democrats playing the “we haven’t lost a Federal seat yet” BS is helpful in having them over-confident while we push Cautious Optimism and near-wins are NOT disheartening/disappointing – but rather inspiring that we are making a difference and getting closer and closer and well laying the groundwork for ’10 midterm chances to take a few close ones away from the Democrats.

Obama arrived confident as if he was going to have a cakewalk in a grassy meadow but found him self in a New England cow pasture stepping in one. Obama also plagiarized Brown?s statement on this being the people?s seat, very low for a president. Moreover, picking on Brown?s pickup truck was a big No No, he now has everyone with a pickup voting Brown, and most everyone out this way has a pickup truck.

What was the count, almost two thousand for Obama and a thousand or more outside for Brown? Brown had Mechanics Hall packed with over three thousand inside and thousands more outside that shut down streets?

  • efro

First political rally of my life, Good turnout. Tuesday will be the first time my vote will matter with national consequences and I am so excited!! I can’t wait to mark that ballot on Tuesday and submit my vote. I will work to make sure everyone I know will be voting (for Brown that is). My father, who usually votes Democrat, already cast his ballot for Kennedy, the third party, as a protest vote against Coakley. My mother, another automatic Democrat vote (she still thinks the Democrats are the party of JFK), is in Florida and will not be voting. -2 votes for Coakley right there. Maybe that will be the trend. Has anybody accounted for the snowbirds who will not be voting?

  • vamoose

Winning this race sends a clear message not only to the Democrats, but to our side as well. I reread your post, thank you for the link, and a win or close outcome, warns those on our side not to waver. Frankly, I don’t think they will be tempted, they can only be heartened by the events going on in Massachusetts.

  • nolan

    Wow! I love it!
I will, however keep my fingers, toes, eyes and short-hairs crossed until Wed. AM, but, livin’ in MA, I just have a bad felling about the crooked, corrupt state machine. It’s second to none. Chicago could learn a few things from these A/H’s.

    According to the linked article:

“‘Internal polls show Dem interest in the race growing as well,’ Sevugan said in an email to Hotline OnCall. The surveys show a 15-point increase in the number of Dems who say they are likely to turn out and vote on Tuesday.”

I think it’s telling that nothing was said about about an increase in Coakley’s poll numbers. Turnout by Dems may very well increase, with more Reagan Democrats saying, “Enough is enough. What has Obama done for me? I’m voting for Brown.”

My conservative credentials are as solid as anyone on this board. I can’t tell you where my other place of business is, but it is within a prototypical MSM lib newsroom in Boston.
The bias on the inside is worse than you know; Brown (and most other conservatives) are routinely mocked as “lacking depth” by people who couldn’t measure depth with a tape measure. They regularly ignore incidents and stories that make Dems look bad(Coakley’s hourly gaffes barely get reported within Route 128), and live to embellish incidents of similar import on the other side.
Nothing would please me more than a Brown landslide on Tuesday. I simply do not trust the entrenched MA lib structure to run an election that is anywhere close to being honest and open. Hell, these guys changed the rules twice in 4 years on replacing senators!
I’m sorry if my pessimism is too much; being s Sox fan from birth tends to make one reflexively so(despite recent successes). I’ll tone it down.

I sure don’t want it to appear that I am trying to tell someone Highly Enthused to “cool down” or anything… I’m just concerned they (especially our newly awakened folks) may overdose on it and hit a wall and drop-off later. We have a long way to go on past this Special Election (win or lose) to the ’10 mid-terms and then to ensure they understand we cannot let down one bit as we work and build toward 2012! We cannot afford to have anyone not be there later also because they suffered Adrenal fatigue down the road and think they can consider their involvement done. The loud and boisterous stuff may be fun, but it is the slow and tedious work behind the scenes that can make/break us later, we need them to step up (the Committee-persons ;-) Project) and do all those other things, not so fun and shiny, that will keep the GOP on Platform and Conservative where we need to pull it. We need everyone to stay with it and keep us building on momentum.
