FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

NEXT.

Also: [ahem] "See, I told you so."

This message goes out to every vulnerable Democratic Congressman representing a Republican or even centrist district – and after tonight, who among you is not vulnerable? It is a simple message: we can do this the easy way, or we can do it the hard way. The easy way is, you suddenly decide that you have a burning desire to spend more time with your families. So you don’t run for re-election, you walk off stage technically undefeated, and you go join a lobbying firm. The hard way is, you do run for re-election, and we pry you out of your seats.

We want to do this the hard way. We will enjoy doing it.

That’s your only warning. And remember: nobody is going to be able to save you. If the President, the DSCC, the DCCC, the DNC, the SEIU, ACORN, and the netroots couldn’t manage a win in Massachusetts… what do you think that they can do for you?

Moe Lane

PS: To our readers… Go have a drink. Go have a few. Celebrate. Tomorrow, we talk about how we’re going to take FL-19 and HI-01 away from the Democratic party.

PPS: More than a few people wanted me to mock specific members of the netroots in this post – but when I’m on my way to the main hall to deliver a message I see no reason why I should stop at the kennels along the way.

Crossposted to Moe Lane.

I already said I wasn’t a big drinker, but was going to hit the Seagram’s– only to discover it was actually Crown Royal. I think it’s been in the cabinet awhile. Can whiskey go bad?

we’re in this mess because in 2008 voters threw out a bunch of good Senators to elect insanse liberal democrats (Al Franken comes into mind). If we could revote those elections a bunch of them wouldn’t have been elected.

So while we wait for 2014 which is election three of the clean up we have to do lets start by making the senate close to 50-50 and control of the house back. At least Obama won’t be able to run away and destroy the country.

Look forward to HA 01 and Florida 19.

The Tree of Liberty has just begun to be refreshed (NJ, VA, MA).

If Democrats wish to see it fully refreshed by the full force of the American People, try and pull a nuclear option. I DARE YOU!

He has claimed that his role was a one year position and that he wished to return to Chicago to run for the Senate.

We’re all a little giddy here. I recognize it.

Once again I’d like to point out that I’ve always preferred DOOM II to regular DOOM. DOOM II had a double barreled shotgun… And that’s what we’re going to work for from now until November: giving it to ‘em with both barrels.

From FL 19 and HI – 01to AR, NV, PA, DE, MT, CA, IN, NY, IL, WA… and the whole House in Nov… none are safe… DOOM II!!!

  • chbroussard

I’m with you. I’d rather do it the hard way. It’s a lot more fun and has a much bigger impact. A simple “I choose not to run for reelction” is not good enough for what these Dems deserve. They need to be humiliated in a landslide defeat.

  • mootzu

I would recommend if I could. I just left it with reading it outloud to my husband and cackling loudly.

and ran them in districts that we should OWN. Every one of those frauds should have their career indicator light flashing violently right now.

  • longwalker

to celebrate Scott Brown’s win. I suppose that a number of Democrats in Congress will be working on their resumes. Either that or start paying attention to their constituents. I think that Scott Brown will find that, upon reflection, a number of Democratic Senators will be willing to be the 41st vote as well.

  • piratecoastbucs

What better way to celebrate the Chosen One’s inauguration tomorrow!

  • renny

Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., might run against Rangel–he took out Jr.’s dad (who could only appear in Harlem on Sunday’s because he was under a bench warrant in the 60s)–and altho’ I don’t know that Powell Jr. is a paragon of virtue, he would have no rank and no committee chairmanship in the House–and at least in Harlem, Rangel couldn’t play the race card.

Reid is in statistical danger now. Boxer’s numbers are in the 40s. Pelosi in SanFran is prob. in for life, but MA might toss Fwankie if they can find a Brown to run in the 4th district.

Cheers, Redstate. And congrats to all.

Old whiskey is just fine as long as it stays corked. But leave it open for a long time and little-by little it loses its punch, until, in the end, it’s nothing but a nasty drink with no real kick. It still smells like whiskey. It still looks like whiskey. But it’s just a deception.

Too many in America were sold a bottle of old booze. They put stale big-government juice into a new paper bag, and called it new booze. America was drunk with anticipation, without taking a sip.

Even Europe got in on the game. They quickly awarded the Drunkard Peace Prize. They can be forgiven, however. The entire world was pretending to be drunk. Why shouldn’t they award even unproven booze such a prize when mere anticipation caused nations to stagger?

We have, however, now tasted what the Liberals are peddling. It still tastes disgusting. And luckily, very few are now pretending to be drunk. Massachusetts sees it plainly. And Obama’s slick talk is increasingly ineffective at convincing people that they are, in reality, drunk.

The sloppy booze may have been new back in the era of the New Deal. But the era is gone. Regardless of the bag it’s in, it’s still the same old stuff. It’s stale now, though its drunkards have spoiled America.

I think I’ll just stay sober. I see more clearly, speak more effectively, and find it easier to fight when I can see where my fists are landing.

Remember left-wing ABC anchorman Peter Jennings calling the 1994 election a “temper tantrum” because Dems were thrown out?

We are on the way to an even bigger temper tantrum, especially if Nancy Pe-loser does indeed push Hell-th Care through in the next week.

    Re who’s next:

Please add FL-02 to your list. Democrat Allen Boyd is a leading Blue Dog in what the Cook Political Report just called an R+6 district. He is against abortion, except when he votes in Congress. He has positive ratings from the pro-abortion groups. While he claims to be a fiscal conservative, adding to Democrat numbers simply enables the Dems to wreak their havoc.

    Onward and upward!

Massachusetts has a Republican senator! No Democrat is safe in any state up now and I do wonder how many will retire starting tomorrow?

I’m writing my Senator tonight and letting them know that I have been following the Brown campaign and that this is what they can expect come November.
This happened because people from all across America gave our time, money and resources to Scott Brown – and I’m looking forward to reaching across State lines come November.
Thank you Eric and Redstate for your help in communicating Senator Browns campaign to the country and for keeping us current on other important races!

“O Fortuna” always send shivers up my spine, particularly when it abruptly reappears at the end of the Carmina Burana, at the climactic moment, at the very moment victory is in one’s grasp – and thrusting in an instant the whole human edifice into the dust.

And a most apt parable of politics and overreach.

In August, I bought an ancient single malt (by far the most expensive bottle of hooch I’ve ever had, and one I could ill afford thanks to bozo), to celebrate the long-overdue death of the Chappaquiddick diver and savored another wee dram last night. A good 75% of the bottle remain and I hope with all my heart I will have justification to finish it for similar reasons before 2011. I imagine there is some limit to my hatred for the left, but I’ve yet to find it.

  • bk

I’ve loved Carmina Burana since seeing it performed a couple years ago at the U of Houston.

There used to be a better version of the first one around, but I can’t find it any more. Kwan did a completely different version a few years later in exhibition.

  • Rod_Patrick

that, in general, American People are really tired of “establishment” candidates and really want REAL HOPE AND REAL CHANGE.

In 2008, they voted for Hope and Change. At that time, Obama represented the idea. After one year, Obama has betrayed those who have believed in his promised change in governance.

To continue this streak of wins (VA, NJ, and now MA), Rs/Cs must cleverly choose candidate that can represent Change and “trust”..

Is the Candidate TRUSTWORTHY OR NOT? DOES HE REPRESENT “CHANGE” AGAINST “ESTABLISHMENT” AND STATUS QUO?

IMHO, these are the questions that all the incumbents and aspiring politicians need to answer.

I’m beginning to believe that “new FACE” will make up for 40% of the success factor. The other 40% is “Anti-Establishment” meme.

The 20% will be X factor – whether the candidate can balance his/her history and viewpoints with the general thoughts and values of the voters. However, FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY (fiscal conservatism to many of us) will always be a necessary ingredient.

  • bigredone

  • cmw

Now this is real change, and it’s a sign of things to come nationwide in 2010. The message to Republicans is clear:

1 – Nominate and support average conservatives for Congress. Don’t put your faith in those coming form the Washington culture, whether that be military culture or government or well-connected donors. Look for average people who understand your district.
2 – Every race is winnable with the right candidate. By following #1 above, every race becomes winnable. Sure, some districts are large majority Democrat districts, and those should not be at the top of the list. But I think there’s at least 45 or 50 House races that are going to be open this time around.
3 – Pay attention to the grassroots, the people “on the ground.” Coakley was aloof and restrained in her dealings with people. She was the person who can’t be bothered to shake hands at the parade (she skipped it or maybe just sat in her convertible and waved). Brown was out there talking to the people, and he connected with them. Make sure our Republican candidates have that personal connection, not a country-club detachment.

And of course, here in Texas 17th, we are ready to go for 2010. Our common-sense conservative Rob Curnock is a small business owner, who has been a volunteer in Republican politics for more than 20 years. He is known in the district and is the definition of personable; he connects with voters and shares our values.

  • alpinejager

he should hear footsteps. we have a great conservative, local businessman & veteran who is running for the seat. Earl Sholley.
    http://sholleyforcongress.us/
I have met him personally, he has been vocally in attendance at the two tea parties we ran last year. please consider a donation etc.- i have watched almost flabbergasted as conservatives across the country from my chat groups have banded together to donate, make phone calls and some even made the trip here from in one case, from Missouri to help out. We have caused a tectonic shift! Lets remember this didn’t happen in a vacuum, and there are MANY that helped. Oh, we need to replicate this phenomenon!

    ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Massachusetts, where it all began, AGAIN!!

  • BeauPeach

The requirements for any candidate should be as Divine as the Intervention that gave us This Establishment when America was Founded. Those MEN were no more intelligent than MEN today, BUT, they DID listen to their Supreme Leader, and true Commander in Chief. We must to remember what qualities to seek in MEN to give us worthy service; quality of character, values, principles, statutes, judgments, precepts, and above all the ability to follow the true Commandments to the letter ‘T’…all of which are in The Constitution. Most specifically, no lying at ALL! All candidates should be highly vetted for their quals and verified prior to acceptance as a candidate, and questioned at length on their knowledge of our greatest document, The Constitution! If they fail any of the above, they DO NOT DESERVE TO BE A CANDIDATE FOR ANY POSITION IN OUR HONORABLE GOVERNMENT, MOST SPECIFICALLY, THE OVAL OFFICE. This past year TO THIS VERY DAY, has been a very rough and unnerving flight on automatic pilot, but we are landing safely now, and soon we will have our NATIONAL RESPECT RESTORED! But FIRST, we MUST finish cleaning HOUSE, and SENATE! That mold in the Oval Office only seats qualified MEN; there is always trouble when there is a misfit, for it is an established MOLD THAT NEVER SEATS THE UNQUALIFIED!!! This past election has not revealed the Truth, which does not allow our government to progress in an honorable and beneficial manner for “We The People”, which subjects US-Americans at risk concerning our National Sovereignty and Security. A word of wisdom to any individual in our government, serving in any capacity, anytime, anywhere…NEVER GO ABROAD AND TRASH OUR NATION WITH CLAIMS OF SPEAKING FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, BECAUSE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES, WHICH HAS JUST BEEN CERTIFIED BY THE STATE OF MASSACHUSETTS. DO NOT INSULT THE AMERICAN WAY…THAT IS CONDUCT WHICH WILL NEVER BE TOLERATED BY LANDLORD!!!
