Reid’s Nevadan stalking horse up on criminal charges.

Oops.

And so (I suspect) ends the sad, vaguely sordid, and rather bizarre tale of Scott Ashjian. You should have vetted your spoiler candidate better, Harry:

A Nevada asphalt contractor who faces a legal challenge to his Tea Party of Nevada candidacy for U.S. Senate was hit Friday with felony theft and bad check charges in Las Vegas that allege he bounced a $5,000 business check last year.

Scott Ashjian is one of a record 22 candidates, including 12 Republicans, running for the seat held by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who is seeking a fifth term.

Bernie Zadrowski, head of the Clark County district attorney’s office bad check unit, said he would seek an arrest warrant Monday in Las Vegas Justice Court. Ashjian could face up to 14 years in state prison if convicted.

Via Hot Air Headlines. The actual Tea Party folks have already been pretty adamant about pointing out that they don’t know this guy, but there’s nothing like a bad-check felony arrest to torpedo an election bid.  Which means that the major Republican candidates can get back to the happy task of determining who is the most conservative of all (and thus worthy of the honor of beating Harry Reid like a drum), and that Harry Reid can get back to creating the tradition that Democratic Senate Majority Leaders always end their terms by losing a re-election bid…

PS: Of course, there’s always the possibility that the Ashjian thing was really a convoluted cry for help on Reid’s part.  You know, a subconscious wish to fail or something like that.  It’d explain the lack of vetting, at least.

This says he even lost his asphalt contractor license this week. He faces other liens, fines, and lawsuits.

Is it past the deadline for someone else to legally get on the ballot under the “Tea party” banner?

are just what people like Mr. Reid hope for in splitting the vote of the right. Hello???????? Remember Ross Perot??????? Let’s legally get behind the one opponent of Mr. Reid who emerges through the primary process. By the way, I believe Republicans are ready to welcome those with a very conservative view.

…just like the guy that’s helping him. We should have known that only a leftist would use this as a way to keep Dingy Harry in Office for another Term. Let’s get the conviction over with quickly so we can get back to kicking Reid’s butt in the election.

The only hope Dems have is to divide the anti-Dems with phony candidates and phony issues .I am very leary of those I do not know much about without hearing from them myself. A lot of the county got fooled by Obama–remember your $2500 health care discount or no one taxed under $250,000. They certainly will lie, obfuscate and whatever else to keep their hands around our throats. Primaries are good competition when respectful but in the end , you need one candidate to dethrone the Dem. A vote for Speaker Pelosi or Leader Reid is a vote for national suicide. A divided opposition is the same thing.

I am just wondering if we are past that point yet, because if it is not too late, Reid will get someone (probably George Soros) to bankroll an effort to get another candidate to run under the Tea Party banner.

Really, a significant pull by a third party candidate is about the only way I see Harry Reid getting re-elected. I don’t really see any way he gets more than 50%.
