FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

The CNN estimate of the Searchlight Rally.

(H/T: Instapundit) Guess how many people CNN reported showed up here:

Go on, guess.

Nope. Lower than that.

Nope. Lower than that.

Nope. Still lower.  No, really.

Give up?

Hundreds of people, at least dozens of people – we haven’t gotten a count of how many people turned out there…

Video confirmation at link.

Well, now we know why CNN gave Erick a job: they clearly need at least one person in the lineup who can do math.

Technically, 10,000 does constitute “hundreds of people, at least dozens of people” if you multiply it enough.
So maybe we should say that “hundreds of people, at least dozens of people” voted for Barack Obama.

  • EagleWatcher

They can ignore us, but we will not go away.

  • bobojake

There would be more media then people there and they would count them twice or three times all obama ZOMBIES..

  • oblio

to apply to the April 15 crowd in DC ?

  • saltlick

God forbid this country ever sees armed strife among its citizens again, but I’m convinced that if it does happen the dishonesty of the mainstream media will be to blame, more than any other factor.

People resort to violence when they feel the system is rigged against them. The MSM is playing with fire.

  • loupgarou1317

does this seem like what happened right before Regan was elected? All we need is a CONSERVATIVE to step up and the circle will be complete……..

  • johnt

They do know that they will be caught on this, and do it anyway.
Didn’t this used to be called “throwing red meat to the faithful”?
I guaranty you there are liberals[?] who will look at photos like the one posted here and still go with the CNN report. Guaranteed.

A security firm who states from 9,000 to 30,000 and their own that declares that the 10,000 person goal was met or exceeded.

  • teresakoch

That’s just fine with me – so much the better if the opposition believes that we are small in number. The election results in November will tell the real story. If they are “surprised” after that, well too bad…..

Is this really a picture of you?

It’s amazing how much one can learn about someone through the internet. Make sure you invite me to the next Tri-Planar Conference on the Purity Crusade!

  • eastbaylarry

will probably assume the other thousands in the crowd were Reid supporters. After all, if CNN tells them the TEA Party only counted as ‘dozens’ the visible count MUST be their ‘good guys’, right?

  • mbecker908

    35 people there.

  • retiretherinos

The corrupt state-media will aways try to undercount us or deny our existence, There looks like 10,000 + in Searchlight. CNN is actually more pathetic their audience is full of real racists. Did you see the twitter comments on the Rick’s List. Politico had it up. There were atleast 4 truly anti-semitic tweets from CNN’s viewers. Christiane Amanpour sounds like anti-american foreign agent. I would expect nothing less from a network where Erick is the only conservative commentator.

  • The_Rebel

of the Instapundit link really sums up what the MSM fails to understand:

“The electoral tsunami coming in November 2010 will make 1994 look like a ripple in a quiet pond.”

    CNN= Can’t Negotiate Numbers

  • http://www.redstate.com/tnjim TNJim

Thousands of dozens looks like to me from those aerials.

  • renny

The Dutch said the tea parties et. al had 1.2 million 9/12. The US MSM said a few thousand.

But they can’t stop the votes coming in Sept. WE have to stop *immigration reform” so they don’t get another 30,000,000 voters to go along with the fraud in Nov.

Find black cons. for the polling sites in N. Phila. where the neo-Panthers (whatever) threatened voters with clubs.

    Not just talk. ACTION.

  • mschmitt

Budget cutbacks have just forced them to adopt a “Daily Show” blue-screen format for their reporting segments… She obviously just got confused about which monitor to look at and started counting the in-studio audience by mistake.

  • Neil1030

They continue to insist with a straight face that they are impartial?? Ha ha.

. . .between the mainstream media and the Democratic Party. Both seek the same goals, and are beholden to the same people.

We have every reason to remain indignant, disgusted, embarrassed and angry about this fact, but no room anymore whatsoever to feign surprise.

  • wolfster38

They don’t care about numbers. Just look at their ratings!

Honesty would give them better numbers!

  • peg_c

to both true numbers and the true nature of this movement.

As for CNN, they don’t deserve any viewers who are sentient beings. Which allows lefties to watch.

  • rbdwiggins

The Redstate Community has the potential to nearly double CNN’s rating numbers at specific points in time…

That, plus, the Left clearly knows they’re on the short-end of a widening credibility gap and plans to paint Erick in the worst possible light

    “Keep your enemies closer.”

–you?re toast after betting the house on Obama

What?s is amazing is the thought that you won?t get caught lying? those days are over, the New Media?s resurgent Right will be sticking the knife in your heart now? and twisting

    Adios, scum

  • E Pluribus Unum

(h/t Mike Becker), noted here by eyewitnesses.

There were an estimated 35 people along the route throwing eggs at the tour buses headed for the Palin gathering.

THAT might have been construed as “hundreds, maybe dozens”.

  • azaeroprof

..and crowd photo the AP had on the story Drudge links to was obviously taken after the event was over and about 2/3 of the people had already made their way out.

I was there. I went up the adjacent hillside to get a better view of the crowd. I’ve had a few math classes in my day (though Differential Equations doesn’t do much good for crowd estimation :) ). The 9000 number is way low, but I would say the 30,000 number is way high. I tried to do a scientific estimate and came up with between 15,000-20,000.

And guess what, I know this will shock the mainstream media. There was……….no………violence. None at all. I was kinda afraid that Palin riling up 20,000 conservatives in the desert would bring an attack from the Obama brownshirts. But I guess they were all up in Michigan trying to create Obama’s Waco ;) .

  • animatorgirl

to the question “Why do they continue to lie so blatantly?” is very simple: they have realized that there is no one to contradict them and hold them accountable. If 90% of the media is liberal, then all they have to do is accuse anyone who points out their falsehoods of being liars, and they’ve immediately created a narrative in which they don’t have to justify their statements, because they have plenty of backup and they trust that most consumers of news don’t check anyway.

I’m pretty sure the only place I’ve seen CNN playing is at the airport, and it’s Atlanta, so they have to play CNN like they have to sell Coke.

I’m sort of shocked, though. It took me years to learn how to spot the subtle bias in reporting, but now it’s not even subtle – anyone with even a hint of intellectual honesty can see it clear as day.

    The CBO?

    Enron Accountants?

My dad attended this (lucky bugger lives in Henderson, NV.)

Also, according to Dad, the most telling part of the entire event was the arrival. 99% of everyone who attended had driven for more than 60 miles, most parked a mile or more away and walked in. Says dad, how many liberals would do the same, just to stand in the desert and listen to a speech? – There was not a single 5 star hotel in sight and absolutely no valet service.

    I wish I could have gone…..
