FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

Please upgrade Phil “I read the bill 3X” Hare’s (D, IL-17) status, Mr. Cook.

Because after this performance surely ‘Safe Democrat‘ is too generous. Phil Hare did everything wrong:

…from claiming that he didn’t worry about the Constitution, then proving it by mixing it up with the Declaration of Independence; to bragging that he read the bill three times, after falsely claiming that said bill protected uninsured children; to running away at the end, only to have to sit there embarrassingly because he had to make a left-hand turn out of the parking lot. Really: that last bit was what did it for me. Democrats tend to be much better at the panicked fleeing of inconvenient questions.

[UPDATE] In my haste to get this up I omitted mentioning Hare’s opponent: Bobby Schilling.

And this is exactly why Suzanne Kosmas FL-24 will NEVER have a real meeting with constituents about Obamacare.

Can we just skip summer and get right to November?

  • treeofliberty

I can’t believe doofuses and mental midgets like this are elected to represent the American people in Congress and swear to uphold the Constitution.

How a clown like this can get a majority of US voters in a district to vote to represent them I’ll never understand

… should move here to California. He would have a job for life.

  • nilram

    1. I’d bet that a large number of his constituents are just as ignorant of the constitution as he is or more so.

    2. Gerrymandering.

And it is embarassing and quite sad.

Gotta love the Illinois machine, Huh?

If he is going to make noise.

But your comment about the Illinois machine obviously still stands.

he meant that he read the title of the bill 3 times. This is a stark reminder of the arrogance, condescension and the feigned concern that is so prevalent on the left.

My favorite quote from this…..”I’m the dreamer”

  • proudgop

Well someone should ask Hare what about all the jobs that will be lost in his district because of this bill? Caterpillar is in his district and yet he cares more about the ones who aren’t insured then he does the one who will now have to be stuck paying their bills

I was brought up in a family that taught me to HONOR the Constitution of the United States and I can recall my Father telling me to always uphold it. I can still hear and see him telling me to protect the 1st and 2nd amendments and to know that it all was to protect the Citizens.
Today we have it being trampled and there are many of us who are NOT going to allow that to happen!
It was designed to protect us from what we are experiencing in this great country of the U.S.A. right now!!
Did this man take an oath on the United States Constitution when he was sworn in? Certainly should have been! Is Impeachment in order? Certainly a Traitor to the U.S.A!!! This Mr. Schilling is mentioned. I see him at www.bobby2010.com Looks like he is doing a good job out there and we need to see he is supported with some chunks of change!!!!

  • ilgop24

CAT is in it a little bit but more in the 18th. John Deere’s HQ’s are in Moline.

Regarding the constituents being as ignorant of the constitution as he is: Many in home town USA carry the Constitution with us. A number there today had them with them.
People who are really awake today, study and know ‘probably more’ than those in DC do!
This man said he read the bill 3 times!!! Ask him how long it took him? A while? How many hours or more likely DAYS to read the monstrosity. Yet there were times he did not ‘know’ something or other when questioned about was in the bill!
Pitiful NON-Representation does not care what his constituents think. Pours out the same ‘sob stories’ for months and doesn’t’ think it will hurt when doctors leave the profession. Ask that in some southern states that I know OB-GYN left the profession and travel great distance to get to a OB-GYN with a pregnancy. This man and many others in DC be gone! Stay awake folks and remember all this. Don’t be short minded as the news would like you to think we will be! We Will NOT forget come November!

This moron managed to make the dem who thinks Guam will capsize if 8000 US soldiers are stationed there look good. These are the elites who think they know what’s best for us?

This congressman should be ashamed of himself. He doesn’t even understand the constitution, let alone read the bill three times???

I’m helping out his opponent, Bobby Schilling, http://www.bobby2010.com.

  • teac

He also says: I am a Catholic and I am Pro Choice!!!!
What about all those babies lives that he supports being taken!
Life from the featus to the elderly!!!!
Double talk – Power Talk is all this bill was about!!!

  • Adjoran

The latest poll showed only 35% of his voting constituents believe he “deserves reelection.”

If Hare is what is considered “safe,” November 2nd is going to be a very long night for the Democrats.

Jim Clyburn (the answer to the riddle: how can you be a Whip without being as smart as one?) holds SC-6, a district which isn’t so curvy, but follows I-95 from Dillon, near the NC border, over 170 miles south to Georgia, and is at several points less than a mile wide. It was drawn to include 65% black residents, ensuring a “minority seat” in the delegation forever.

  • Adjoran

Perhaps he means “Catholic” by birth, not practice.

In the same fashion he considers himself an “American,” for instance.

Hare represents the majority of Dems in Congress. They don’t believe the Constitution is valid even though they swore to uphold it. He and they are also clueless about what is in it.

And now they manufactured an illegally passed bill with illegal mandates in it they and are immediately beginning Stalinist “witch-hunt trials” against anyone who questions the BLATENT illegality of.

Similarly Hare decides to re-invent the rules of Catholicism. He is evidently a Pro-Abortion professed Catholic who says he is Catholic but just doesn’t follow the Catholic doctrine. HE evidently has his own definition of Catholicism too.

The arrogance and ignorance of Hare is a full representation of the Dem (Socialist) Party. Both he and they are a disgrace to this country and a disgrace to humanity.

  • loganyung

    Guys,

I agree with all the points that you are making, but I don’t think that the approach is very helpful. To the general population, a sob story always beats an argument on the Constitution. And, though the representative is probably lying, even I bristled at watching that part of the video.

You should take the advice that Mr. Limbaugh gave on his radio show about 6 months ago. Limbaugh recommended that the best argument against these liberal/fascist policies is to illustrate how cruel they are. With this in mind, I think that something along the lines of the following questions would have been more compelling and revealing:

Don’t you see how cruel this bill is to the vast majority of US citizens?

What do you say to the retail worker’s family when he or she gets laid off because this bill makes it too costly for the employer to retain employees?

What do you say to the healthy new grad, who was planning to buy a low cost catastrophic policy, and now has to pay 10 times that amount for no good reason? What do you say to them now that they can’t save to buy a house?

What do you say for the infertile couple who now has to pay for a policy with abortion and maternity coverage? Isn’t that a cruel reminder for them on every paycheck?

What do you say to the people of a state that goes bankrupt because of the unfunded Medicaid mandates in this bill?

This plan is very much like the systems in Canada and England. Are you comfortable that now potentially hundreds of millions of people world-wide will die in the future, because the level of medical innovation from the US will decline to that which you see in Canada and England (i.e. non existent)?

What do you say to the people who will be standing in the back of the rationing line, waiting for a knee replacement?

How do you explain this bill to the thousands of workers at insurance companies who will be laid off now that you have removed the ability for their companies to be in business?

What do you say to the workers in the US as this bill accelerates the movement of jobs overseas?

Why does it make you so comfortable to expand the dependent class in the US?

Agree at any level that this might be a better approach?

  • Bill S

…but, a sound bite like that is gold. People don’t know what’s *IN* the Constitution, but they DO realize that it is the basis for law in the USA, and when they hear a Congressman say “I don’t care about the law”, well, that’s a big f****** deal.

  • RedBeard

    and emotion ahead of reason.

Note how he tossed in the obligatory sob story as a substitute for the law of the land, and how he tried deflecting factual criticism and questions with unsubstantiated campaign-style rhetoric about how he just wants to help people.

This ignorant slob is deciding MY fate? I feel ill. Well, under Obamacare, this dope can decide how best to cure my illness, the one that he created. Ain’t it great? And it’s all FREE!

“I don’t care about the Constitution” should be removed from that office the moment the words leave his mouth. He took an oath to defend and protect that document, an oath he is now rescinding. Traitor

Minority-Majority districts, while a terrible idea that only serves to further exacerbate racial divides in this country, are unfortunately mandated by law, and in each of the below cases, there’s really no other way to draw a 2nd Black-majority district in NC or a Hispanic-Majority district in IL (though the 4th’s shape has more to do with the neighboring Black-majority 7th district than the demographics of central Chicago)

IL-17 has no such constraints. It is a district drawn out of Republican-leaning Southern Illinois for no purpose other than to ensure a Democrat represents it
