So, that ‘Crash the Tea Party’ thing was a bust.

Charlie don't march*.

Told ya so. Michelle Malkin has some photos of the fizzle, which should have been obvious to anybody who has been paying attention to the way that the luster of the Left’s vaunted ‘activism’ completely dims when compared to an actual populist movement**. How bad was this fizzle, in fact?

This bad:

Brooks Alexander, a 23-year-old Olney, Md., hotel worker and Obama supporter who wore an Obama t-shirt to the evening rally, said infiltrators were being disrespectful.

“They’re doing a disservice not only to themselves, but to the people who are here trying to express their views,” said Alexander, who is African American and said he traveled to the rally to verify for himself liberal accounts blasting the tea party as racist.

“All my friends told me I was crazy to come down here in an Obama shirt,” he said. “Obviously I have political disagreements [with the tea party], but I cannot lie. I cannot say that people have been anything but nice to me. They have been shaking my hand. One guy told me I had a lot of [guts] for coming down here. I will definitely walk away from this with a new understanding of the tea party.”

You see, it’s not that the Politico found somebody who could relate a nice anecdote about the Tea Parties. I’m sure that there were Obama supporters in the crowd who were treated nicely; and that there were Obama supporters who were treated rudely, and even some who were treated rudely unfairly. You can always find somebody who can give you the anecdote that you need. What’s interesting is that the Politico felt the need for an anecdote that was complimentary to the Tea Parties.

I think the Tea Party people that outed the infiltrators were very shrewed in how they handled it. I congratulate them in their adult demeanor. Makes us all proud.

behavior doesn’t play so well, anymore.

  • zollistar

…and we had a few crashers, but not many and none had really offensive signs. If so, we were prepared to handle them by surrounding them with counter-signs that made it clear that they were not with us.

The crashers got bored and left on the early side.

Final point: The gathering was civil in every respect and an unmistakable mix of people, blue collar to professional.

I was interviewed. The key thing that I told the man was that every American faces a choice: Expanding personal freedom and liberty OR expanding government. If you have one, you can’t have the other.

    I’ve made my choice.

    What about you?

Poor, dumb, innocent and honest Brooks, if only he had told a series of vicious, slanderous lies, like our professional media does every day without a hint of conscience.
And what happened to the clown Levin who, forgive the expression, was the brains behind the planned disruptions? The fool who tipped the universe off about what he intended, wonder what other brainstorms he has.

This fiasco is on a par with the ” mammoth” Coffee party rally that was going to rock Washington and set the crazed Tea Partiers back on their heels. How many, six people showed up in a restaurant?

The media tramps must be soiling their panties.

  • tdpwells

and the guy in the pic wasn’t the only infiltrator present. There was a small group up near the speaker’s platform that got rowdy a few times. Great crowd, though, but I’m pretty sure Sean Hannity and crew down in Cinci stole some of our numbers, haha. I know of a few people just in my circle that opted to go down there instead of staying local for our party.

…sort of like how AQ would send a bunch of people onto a plane then act foolish just to see how the people, crew etc. reacted. Look for Scene II coming soon, early summer.

    a NY Times poll………LMAO

  • disintelligentsia

As I noted in my diary, Jason Levin, the guy who made the crashtheteaparty.org site has been put on administrative leave by the school district he works for and the state licensing board is investigating whether he is fit to teach.

See more at my diary – http://www.redstate.com/disintelligentsia/2010/04/16/founder-of-crashtheteapartyorg-on-administrative-leave-and-under-investigation/

It seems his stunt blew up pretty spectacularly in his face.

When someone acts foolish on a plane and forces others to respond, then they turn around and sue or apply political pressure when it is found they are not really a threat.

The TEA party infiltrators have now been proven to be infiltrators. They were found out by being blatantly disgraceful. They were doing things that no one approved of. They generated no sympathy.

How will they take advantage of this for Scene II?

    and post!

The clueless guy is shouting “Patriots Pay Taxes!” and trying to argue that tax rates are “unsustainably low” right now.

If patriots pay taxes, does that mean that nearly half the folks in this country, who don’t owe/pay a cent in taxes, are unpatriotic?

…a test run is a test run. Our side handled it correctly. They’ll have to up the ante. This we already know. Just watch for it.

…time will tell. But since his union will be standing up for him, i doubt much will come from the licensing board investigation, esp in NJ. Like everyone else, he was just testing the waters, and no, he was not action alone. It all had a grand purpose.

    That’s how they do it.

  • shadowtax

I am concerned about this MSM meme which focuses on Tea Party spelling and grammar. I’ve seen some pictures in NY Daily News and on some seattle blog. This could be a more subtle form of infiltration…

    Here are a few

My local Boston sports radio morning show sent its Obama-supporting, liberal producer to the Palin Tea Party event.

He came back saying pretty much the same this as this kid from Maryland.

  • cabanon

but obviously some amount are going to be real. I’m a horrible speller but if you’re going to take the time to make a sign a quick spelling check shouldn’t be too hard. I think you are right though that the meme is sticking the only thing to do is before a protest, do a spell check.

  • Michelle

Joe Biden also said that paying our taxes is patriotic so I think there is definitely a point to be made that the 47% who do not pay could possibly be unpatriotic.

The guy in the AFP ad is great – taxes are at their lowest ever?! Unsustainably low? What?! Gave me a great laugh, then I stopped when I realized he was serious.

  • shadowtax

I am concerned that this meme could be pushed along by low-key infiltrators. It is easy for fellow tea partiers to spot the guy with the racist sign and isolate him. It is impossible to police spelling without insulting a lot of people. If the infiltrators get in the picture, the MSM will spread them around uncritically.

I thought some of those looked photoshopped too.

  • shadowtax
  • Kyle-MI

If the infiltrators are smart, next time they will be more subtle. Of course if they are too subtle the media will miss it. Either way, we should know and be prepared. I think it was a very good test run for our side, too.

  • renny

the neato union signs SEIU, ACORN, and ilk “demonstrate” with. It’s more cute than deprecating.

And as far as misusage and spelling: The Benihana in my mall claims an “exotic experience everyday” while a Texaco advises “unleded” gas and TNT CONSTANTLY advertises “more movie. less commercials” and I scream at the announcer: “FEWER COMMERCIALS, YOU IDIOT!”

Since my spell check just tried to change ?less commercials? to ?fewer commercials,? you can know that TNT doesn?t even use its computer options to proof and edit. And TNT is a major cable station.

…What they are probing for is a slip-up. An event, the nastier the better. And they are not past creating their own if all else fails.

    Take notes.

This is not what we want to have happen – but it is precisely what the Left wants to have happen.

A Tea Party dissolving into a riot. A Tea Party that ends with a murder.

    Stay frosty, people. (grin)
