So. SEIU’s Andy Stern leaving, or pushed out?

I mean, I’d push him out for this:

SEIU has seen its liabilities skyrocket during the past decade. The union’s liabilities totaled $7,625,832 in 2000. By 2009, they had increased almost by a factor of 16, to $120,893,259. Meanwhile, SEIU’s assets barely tripled, growing from $66,632,631 in 2000 to $187,664,763 in 2009. A significant portion of SEIU’s current assets are from IOUs from hard-up locals.

SEIU is $85 million in debt, down from its 2008 high of $102 million, and has been forced to lay off employees. Mr. Stern has led protests against Bank of America, calling for the firing of Chief Executive Ken Lewis. Yet the union owes $80 million to Bank of America and $5 million to Amalgamated Bank, which is owned by the rival union Unite-Here.

Stern’s also presided over the drastic underfunding of SEIU’s pensions, both at the national and local level.  He’s probably not being pushed out, though.  You see, what SEIU was doing during all that time was spend $86 million to support Democrats, particularly the current President (almost $61 million). And yes, it is interesting that if SEIU hadn’t spent that political money then they probably wouldn’t be in debt now. But – just like Patrick Gaspard, Craig Becker, and Anna Burger – that’s not Andy Stern’s problem anymore.  I wonder if he’ll get the same punishment for failure that they did?

To complete his leftist agenda, he’s been donating money to leftist Dems using union dues as if the economy is still steaming along in the bubble.
Kind of like the leftist/statist Dems he supports, he’s overspending and counting on Obama to fill the void with more union jobs.
Union members are just tools for him to use and discard.

SEIU’s membership is getting tired of being herded into busses to start rumbles with Tea Partiers? Or running interference for deadbeats like Martha Coakley and John Corzine, while their own pocketbooks continue to get creamed with no end in sight?

I’d say the SEIU is having aTea Party of its own.

that comes to mind when I hear his name. But this is a family friendly website. So let me simply quote the ending bit:

“Hangin’s too good for him! Burnin’s too good for him! He should be torn into little bitty pieces and buried alive!”

What favor from Obama is worth $86MM? Ambassadorship to Great Britain? Germany? France? Mind you that one country will be miffed if Stern doesn’t come to them. The Special Relationship won’t be ended by a gift of your own speeches, or a bunch of bargain-basement DVDs that are incompatible with any DVD, player in your country but it will break-down because Stern went to Monaco instead of the UK.

Perhaps Stern will own the Lincoln Bedroom with the right to sub-let it out. That would be worth $86MM. I’m sure even Stern could figure out how to make a ton of money renting out the White House. What the USSR couldn’t take by force, Stern will sell to them.

SEIU owes Bank of America $80 million and has been rendered insolvent through irresponsible management? Gee, I wonder what would happen to a corporate business entity if its CEO had been guilty of the same sort of malfeasance? I think that the bank would probably call in the loan and force liquidation. Why doesn’t Bank of America do it? Fear, perhaps? It would appear that Andy Stern’s bribe has bought the union some protection.

As a 20+ years teamster, I’ve seen the tactics and the bolshevik propaganda in an up close, and personal fashion. With the pension fund broke, to where officials old enough to retire, can not because it’s tapped out. The international doling out 10′s of millions of $ a year to candidates, “friendly” to labor. Raising our dues substantially to cover a “strike fund” in which we will never use, because they will not ever call for a strike, using the $ in attack ads against republican candidates. Buying “jimbo” wright’s autobio. with it’s 1 word chapters, in it’s entirety, (1 good thing about that was, it was 1 of the salvos of the repub. revolution that came in ’94, thanks to newt’s exposing it). The list is endless, what the membership has gained from this pilfering is zilch, (80-90% of our dues going to the democrat party). So, in an effort to repay the unions for their unending patronage, give the leadership of these unions, unparalleled access & influence peddling positions in this white house, and a nice, big, taxpayer cash for “clunkers” style buyout. If you don’t think it’s not in the works, read up on how f.d.r. helped out the groups friendly to his adm. during the great depression, and while you’re at it, read up on what he did to unions who went on strike during w.w.2.
