I would like to announce three new political parties!

It’s very exciting to see.  Ladies and gentlemen, I give you:

  1. The I’ll bet I can find 1,000,000 people who think music education is important party;
  2. The Addicted to Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn party;
  3. And the Jeremy Clarkson should be Prime Minister party*.

What?  That’s legitimate… by Newsweek standards, at least.  Sure, they’re Facebook groups, but so is the Coffee Party, frankly – and all three of said groups have memberships between 2x and 3x that of the Coffee Party Facegroup’s of 200K, so if it’s legitimate for the one’s Facebook strength to be taken seriously than I insist that we – and more importantly, Newsweek - do the same for the above movements, too.

Or we could maybe, I don’t know, possibly not pretend that a group’s Facebook strength is necessarily indicative of anything useful? – and I cannot believe that I have to point this out to a print magazine.

PS: Gateway Pundit notes with absolutely no surprise (and none was warranted) that the mutation of this particular movement to a form more pleasing to the Left has already begun.  Takeaway quote?

“I like the civility idea, but I hate the Tea Party people,” said attendee Karen Anderson.

As I noted yesterday, these people don’t really think about stuff.

*OK.  This one I had to join.  Jeremy Clarkson did the Best Car Review You Will Ever, Ever See.  Yes, that one.

And MSM driven

GOPlady Sunday, April 25th at 10:08AM EDT (link)

Funny how over a million people can show up and be peaceful on Sept 12th of last year, get called 30-40 thousand, and ignored, but let some lefty have a facebook page and you have breathless breaking news on CNN and MSNBC. I think their entire audience showed up.

Having the founder of peaceful, open debates get tossed in favor of violence and hate? Priceless.

I am a bit worried

I mean, in what asylum do those Clarkson people reside? He’s more annoying than Simon Cowell.

Standard-bearer for grouchy curmudgeonry since, oh, 1975 or so.

Hey! I joined that group.

The guy [redacted because if you haven't watched it, you should] as part of a car review. That’s worth something.

The mind boggles at the possibilities ;-) (nt)

Clarkson less annoying than?

Brown, Cameron or Clegg… certainly not. He may be blunt, but he is honest about his opinions even when he is wrong.

Those three are no prizes

RedBeard Sunday, April 25th at 11:21AM EDT (link)

Brown hasn’t a clue about real life, Cameron seems determined to torpedo his own political fortunes, and Clegg is ashamed of his own country.

It takes three people in the UK to do all that, while we Yanks are much more efficient, with Barack Obama doing all three things himself.

LOL sad but true analysis, RedBeard.

I'm on board with the first one.

Music education is extremely important, and neglected because too much money for public schools is wasted.

who is making plans now to borrow instruments because his band will be larger than his available inventory next year (not to mention they may not have uniforms)….

I wholeheartedly agree.

The primary process is FLAWED. Two states should not decide our candidate.

threatened music budget cuts? I don’t know of any instance, which suggests to me that it’s an emotional issue which public school administrators use as a cudgel in negotiating with the taxpayers. They’re certainly not going to threaten cuts of “education facilitator” positions and the like that they give to friends and relatives.

We're up against a tough foe, NightTwister.

The recording industry prefers uneducated consumers of their two-chord swill. Fortunately for musically-inclined young people, a basic education in music theory is not required for acceptance into the your local Commercial Music Academy Institute of Technology. All you need is enough cash to fill Bonzo Bonham’s kick drum.

As for political parties I’d join this one here, but it would probaly get her back on TV sooner:

The bus can pick them all up outside the building and drive them there directly. The more violent ones, tie up and put them in a truck.

Yeah, tons of millions of sensible Coffee Party types protesting the threats to trillion dollar deficits from the Right ! What is all this crap about dissent and free speech anyway, does the Right think they live in a free country and are dealing with the sane?
That was a wowser of a Coffee Party Rally in Washington, all five of them.

Personally, I like cats. They’re not high-maintenance. Dogs are fine though, as long as they control themselves.

Will be a Ford Fiesta diesel model.
She will need it to ford the streams to get home to the cabin.

Newsweek?

Adjoran (Diary) Monday, April 26th at 2:18AM EDT (link)

Are they still publishing?

Last I heard, they decided to go for a “low-circulation model” and had lost half their subscribers . . . glad they are still around – who else would hire losers like Meacham and Thomas?
