FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

SWAT Troops against an Army of Grandmas.

And what fine, Republican music they were singing, too.

I am given to understand that the video below was the result of local police in Illinois being overruled by the Feds. Whether true or not, this is still so pathetic that it just makes me kind of sad:

You know, I remember a day when we had a President who wasn’t fundamentally afraid of the American people, and so do you.

Picture of vicious counter-revolutionary agents requiring a full riot gear-equipped police presence after the fold.

Grow either up, or a spine, Mr. President.  Just do either one quickly; the rest of the world is taking notes.

If GWB had done this the MSM would be screeching like a couple of cats stuck in a clothes drier.

  • http://www.redstate.com/tnjim TNJim

Where were the cops dressed in riot gear putting down real violence by leftists? Admittedly, they may have been there, but I just haven’t seen any pictures. videos, or read any MSM reports of that. It’s really a shame when riot police are called in over folks singing pariotic songs but bottle throwers protesting a “misguided” bill are passed over.

Again, I may have missed the reports on cops putting down said violence, but even if I have, it really is a shame riot cops are called in in advance to quell “possible violence” at a presidential appearance. Then again, Granny can get awfully agitated when the grandkids’ future is put at risk by nearly every single piece of legislation this President is pushing. So agitated she may start belting out a few choruses of “God Bless America”!

    Horrors!

    …as a related video:

    Quite a contrast, isn’t it?

  • fotophun

    This is so pathetic…
    can’t call a terrorist a terrorist
but oh no Granny is quite a threat…

Maybe he cannot quite wait for Obummer care and is going to allow Granny to be killed another way, and leave his hands clean

This man loves chaos, turning American against American

gee what is going to happen when the REAL enemy of this country is at our doorstep, for all we know he is already here.
I know where one lives, in the White House

  • fotophun

notice how the media is there
and they were not allowed at the Gay protest at the White House

  • thomasgipper

Perhaps the life-experiences of the President and his appointees tell them that when jack-booted riot cops confront protesters (in their experience, liberal eco-nuts, anarchists, weather underground and black-panther types), there is always anger, confrontation, bottle throwing, burning cars and violence. What a shock it must be for him, the czars, the ivy-league book-intellectuals to have ordinary middle-class moms & dads from flyover country peacfully walking, waiving their flags, and singing songs by Julia Ward Howe (the Madonna of her time), from the civil war era. Good thing those cops had their batons and Sig Sauers ready to pump granny in case she got worked into a tizzy…. Or perhaps they were hoping an Alyskyite would start an incident, which they could blame on those vicious teabaggers. Doesn’t matter. 6 months left democrats!

Mine eyes have seen the glory of coming of the Lord.
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored.
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword.
    His truth is marching on!

    Glory, Glory Hallelujah!
    Glory Glory Hallelujah!
    Glory Glory Hallelujah!
    His truth is marching on!
    ….
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
    As he died to make men holy, let us live to make men free;
    While God is marching on!

    Glory, Glory Hallelujah!
    Glory Glory Hallelujah!
    Glory Glory Hallelujah!
    His truth is marching on!

Then there is something seriously wrong with the reader.

I cannot express how concerned I am over this. How easy would it be for whom ever gave the order to deploy the SWAT team to next arrest the protesters – and for what?

Where the protesters acting unlawfully, or were they just a sore sight and something the type of window dressing the President and his advisors wanted?

In any case, this example should be a red flag about where our nation is going and what is happening under its current leadership.

November cant come fast enough (provided those in Congress dont cave and pass bills which would replace mad as hell voters with new ones via Puerto Rico and or illegal immigration).

  • Adjoran

If I were as weak and spineless as Obama, I’d be scared of Grandmas, mean little kids who can be so cruel, reporters, and Pomeranians, too.

  • cookcountyconservative

brought to Illinois. I mean the outfits are snazzy, but they really need to work on the goose-step.

  • henryrearden

Isn’t this just like Jimmy Carter having a panic attack when he said he was threatened . . . by a rabbit?

Obama ought to thank God in his prayers tonight that there was no mishap or accidental shooting of someone’s grandma.

Shouldn’t Homeland Security be protecting Americans from this unstable paranoid president?

  • henryrearden

and ya gotta watch out for those Pugs too!

Heh – my grandmother had a wiener dog that truly was a vicious animal!

  • bk

rather than making up lies about peaceful protesters such as these?

My how times have changed since the 60s, eh?

  • http://www.suvstrategery.blogspot.com SoFiMil

It may be. Still, I can’t imagine the SWAT being that dense to not cancel a scheduled training because of the appearance it may give.

  • shaitra

to see this and other things our current president is doing.

  • marshmom

He’s trying his best to push the tea party over the edge to do something, ANYTHING, violent so he can have the authority to shut us down and the media will have their “proof”.
After all, his buddies like Bill Ayers would’ve been throwing bombs and cackling like a demon.
He doesn’t understand us and people truly do fear what they don’t know.
Good try, Obama, but you and your elitist friends have no idea what you’re up against and we’re smart enough to know that violence is not the answer.

  • Charles Cianfrocca

…photograph every one of their faces? For the record, I mean?

Sure, I understand they were just following orders. But at some point, all our lives may depend on people like the police NOT following orders to, say, gun us all down in the street. Who thinks there won’t eventually be a regime ordered massacre, just for disciplinary reasons?

The police should be reminded that “I was just following orders” didn’t work in Europe 60 years ago, and it won’t work again. The citizens will eventually win against the regime, and there will be justice. The police, like everyone, will have to be on one side or the other, and be held accountable for their choices. Better they know sooner rather than later.

  • blooch

which he put on when he threw away Sgt. Ryan David Jopek’s bracelet, and it told him what to do.

And no, GB doesn’t stand for “George Bush”. It stands for “Gordon Brown”.

Well, there’s at least one Britisher Obama respects.

  • wilfranc

For all the talk of being smart on this and that, doesn’t the job really come down to how you use your smarts to make judgements?

This has to be an example of Obama’s ability to make judgements.

He may be smart, but a poor judge of reality.

  • txgho1911

Maybe it would have been better if the swat team showed up in marked T-shirts and hauling the riot gear in the big duffel bag that have for that purpose.
They could have participated in a positive manner rather than feeding the Troll King.

  • Achance

so the leadership cohort of the law enforcement agency will be just as corrupt as he and his are. I’ll guarantee you that the officers would give the order to fire on grandma. The question is whether the men will follow that order and I suspect they would at first. If it became some sort of general disorder, the men would start thinking about it and some might leave their jobs or refuse to follow orders, but it would take awhile. The calculus on the Left would be that killing a few grannies would keep everybody else off the street. They’re one-trick ponies and they remember the chilling effect that Kent State had on the Left and would presume that a few bodies would dissuade Tea Partiers and similar protesters against the regime. They’re probably right that lots of people would decide that it isn’t worth it to get shot for carrying signs and singing songs, but some of those people might decide that it is time to take more direct action.

The problem on the Right then becomes showing mass support for those who engage in direct action against the regime. Comrade Obama will follow the WJC playbook and try to isolate and marginalize them so that the mass will consider it a good thing when one of his Stelnikov’s kills them. The best thing is to make sure that nobody on the Right rises to the provocation so that if some wannabe Strelnikov opens fire on a peaceful assembly it is clearly murder and the outrage has to be massive. If anyone on the Right or who can be characterized as being from the Right engages in any form of violence, Comrade Obama’s regime will declare war on them and do it with a lot of public support.

  • Tbone

one of the granny would ask Obama to fetch some coffee.

  • Raven

He’d just watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail when that rabbit charged.

  • Raven

They’ll get what they want. But then it’ll be suddenly more than they can handle. They have no idea how terrible the giant they are poking can be. They never learned those parts of history.

  • rick554

At the end of the video, there DOES seem to be a radical granny in the middle of the street. But I guess in Barack’s superior judgement, even 70 yearold vets and little old ladies COULD be a threat.
Actually , I feel bad for the cops. They must have felt like chumps. So 3 Cheers to the police, they deserve better.

  • johnt

Pain free rioting for some, armed, helmeted police for others, and civil liberties leftists loving it. Obama, speeding up the pace to the Fascist state that liberals were so worried about up to 2009

I do hope we can look forward to elections, or is that asking too much?

  • snowshooze

Excellent, wonderful and a perfect example!
Add another success to the perfect score for the Tea Party!
And there is egg all over Obama’s face again!
Great show, great show…I can’t tell you how pleased I am.
    Sincerely,
    Mark

Who thinks there won?t eventually be a regime ordered massacre, just for disciplinary reasons?

I don’t believe it. I think it is crazy. In fact, I think this entire comment is deranged.

  • Charles Cianfrocca

If what you’re saying is that you don’t think it can happen HERE, …well, we’ll see, I suppose. But sending riot police to bother little old ladies doesn’t seem like a promising ante.

is your comment is not helpful on a whole lot of levels.

Things have happened here. The Pullman Strikes, Ludlow Massacre, Blair Mountain, Kent State, Jackson State, and some would add Waco and Ruby Ridge. Anytime you have a political entity with police power abuses can happen. But this administration isn’t going to shoot people down in the streets for no other reason than they couldn’t arrive at a decision to do so.

  • itrytobenice

Walked over there, visited with a few of them and got my pic taken with them.

Yeah, they are inappropriately ordered to a place they didn’t need to be, but they are our men in uniform and have sworn to give their lives for me and my family.

I thank them and take my picture with them where ever and when ever I can.

“this administration isn?t going to shoot people down in the streets for no other reason than they couldn?t arrive at a decision to do so.”

There’s a division by zero in there somewhere, I think, but regardless of that, I guess you just have a lot more confidence in Zero’s basic decency than I do. For my money, anyone who would send heavily armed and armored goons to intimidate blue-haired grandmothers is not someone I would put a lot past.

The road is already littered with the figurative bodies of people who thought PBO would stop before he got to them.

Your mileage may vary, of course. Carry on.

  • streiff

    1. I didn’t evince confidence in the administration’s decency, only in their incompetence.

    2. This was an overreaction by some functionary. It happens. There were no arrests and no shootings.

  • itrytobenice

This makes me think of something Barney Fife used to say…

Nip it in the bud. You’ve got to nip. it. in. the. bud.

So that’s probably why they were there; can’t let the grannies go crazy and start passing out sugar and salt laced cookies and stuff. Dangerous road to travel there.

  • Charles Cianfrocca

    1) that level of foolishness, with heavily armed goons, is a hell of an accident waiting to happen, and

    2) They were old ladies. Add you need to add to the mix is one slightly smart-mouthed young person (not many of THOSE around…), et voil? – blood in the streets.

I don’t think it wiill take as much as you apparently do.

  • snowshooze

Invite them to join the Tea Party, have a hot dog and a soda..maybe throw a Frisbee.
Applaud them and thank them for their service…lol

  • The_Gadfly

I was still a kid in school back then and the local morning DJs had no end of fun with the rabbit incident. I actually managed to record their skit on cassette tape at the time and can still hear it in my head.

“Next up, a new tune by Jimmy Carter and The Capital Hill Gang…”

    [white rap style, sans swearing]

“Hip, hop, hip, hop. The ferocious rabbit goes hippity-hop, and I am sittin in an open boat, in danger for my life ’till the rifle goes pop…”

“So far you’ve heard my voice, but I’ve brought a friend along, next on the mike is Richard Nixon,…”

If only it were as easy to laugh about the current WH occupant.

  • http://pocketchangeproductions.net/ anotherindyfilmguy

Mockable as it is, this incident says two things about the left:

They are deathly afraid that any sort of protest could lead to violence against them (a sort of projection on their enemies of their own intent) or that protesters against them should be intimidated.

The other is that they are either utterly incompetent or have evil intentions down the road. It doesn’t matter which it is, either is bad enough to warrant removing them from power.

    Ok, that’s three things…
