I was able to catch up with RS favorite Nikki Haley today and ask her a few questions about the state of the Governor’s race in South Carolina:
The GOP gubernatorial primary on June 8th is more or less expected at this point to go to a runoff for later that month, and the winner of that primary will be heavily favored to win the election. So check her site out.

America's conservatives need her to be that Governor
E Pluribus Unum (Diary) Friday, April 30th at 10:10PM EDT (link)I just remember how she operated on her principles as a State Representative. The whole establishment GOP went against her, and she still did what was right, even though they stripped her of position and support.
We need a whole lot more of that, all over America.

Great candidate!
Adjoran (Diary) Saturday, May 1st at 4:46AM EDT (link)McMaster and Bauer will be vying for the establishment support, with Barrett – an excellent congressman who lacks executive experience, though – peeling off some of that and competing with Haley for the conservative vote.
Sanford spent years warning the legislature and local governments not to budget all the revenue that came in during good times, but to be frugal and responsible. No one listened; the legislature repeatedly overrode his vetoes. Haley was one of the few, even among Republicans, who sought to follow common sense.
Now the chickens have come home to roost in SC with a vengeance, dumping massive quantities of manure into the works. The next Governor’s challenge will be to clean up the mess.

It won’t be easy. She’s going to need a lot of help.
