Somebody tattled on the Democratic whine party!

Possibly the most important bit in this article (via Hot Air) is the bit I put in bold:

President Barack Obama’s Washington-bashing could boomerang on his party in Congress if he’s not careful, House Democratic leaders have warned White House senior adviser David Axelrod.

The fear — raised by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, campaign chief Chris Van Hollen and Majority Whip Jim Clyburn in a closed-door meeting Thursday — is that Democrats have more to lose if anti-Washington sentiment is not directed at one party or the other.

“If the president is going to go out and talk about how Washington’s broken, he’s got to include a strong contrast with congressional Republicans, or else we’re going to get blamed for it,” one meeting participant said later.

I note this because I’m pretty sure that the President had an expectation that the meeting was going to be free of leaks – and not only was it leaked, it was leaked by somebody who spent that meeting yelling at David Axelrod. Which is how that meeting probably went in the first place. Here is the great truth of what was once lauded as the Great Democratic Re-Alignment: the legislative branch of it hates the executive branch, and the executive branch of it sneers at the legislative. From Congress’ point of view the President is the guy who has done none of the work and taken all of the (marginal) credit on ‘stimulus,’ cap-and-trade, and health care rationing legislation; he’s also the guy that blatantly threatened them into taking all the heat that resulted when Obamacare sank like a lead balloon in the polls. Which is why they’re leaking now, because (as Ed also noted a couple of months ago), they’ve finally realized that it’s entirely possible that the President would be happy to run against a Republican Congress in 2012. And, interestingly enough, that would also explain why the President is waving off immigration reform. After all, what’s it to him whether Harry Reid and Michael Bennett get re-elected?

Possibly – possibly! – it’s nothing to him at all…

PS: Recommendations? Popcorn. This is internal Democratic party business, and I have no intention of letting any of them off of the hook.

And I’d be happy to share. ITM, I’m sharing the new N word, November, with everyone I know. And telling them I learned it here!

is getting really crowded. I have to admit that it always struck me as being really strange that one human being would even remotely consider putting their confidence in another human being who makes it pretty plain that they won’t hesitate to throw people to curb the minute their usefulness is deemed as being over.

The very fact someone voted for soetoro would be fairly definitive evidence of an inability to reason, if not a seriously deficient cognitive function.

You mention running against a Republican Congress for MAObama is preferable to having control.

    So…BIG BRObama is hoping that

    A. Conservatives clean up his leftist mess, (except for Hell-th Care being rolled back (he will veto that)), and by allowing that he will show how “bipartisan” he is and how he “has listened to the voters,” so that he can take credit for any economic recovery, and thereby receive a 2nd term

    B. Republicans choke – again – and go all moron and squishy over him, allowing him to patronize and demonize them for 2 years, while they fear charges of racism and forsake basic Conservatism in an effort to be “bipartisan,” for which efforts he will call them “do-nothings.”

    C. He can play every racism, class-warfare, “heartless conservatives only care about millionaires” and “people are not illegal” card in the deck, while vetoing any effort to roll back Hell-th Care or taxes or help private businesses employ or cut the size of government.

    D. Dem operatives can produce enough voter fraud and hysteria about a Fascist police state (“Show me your papers, Arizona”) being planned by Conservatives, and that he can use his rock-star nice-guy sympathies to retain enough 85 I.Q. voters for a narrow win.

    Or… ?

    “Democratic”?

Now, I am one of your biggest fans so please don’t take offense. But why has everyone in the world started using that term instead of “Democrat”? When did this happen? Everywhere, I see it.

Being democratic has nothing to do with being a Democrat in the literal sense, IMHO, so it drives me crazy when I read it and hear it used constantly. Kind of like bad grammar but worse. It’s elevating them to a completely honorable place, which they do not ever, ever deserve.

Sorry. I just can’t help it. Forgive me. Blame my parents. They sent me to parochial school.

    Great post, tho.
