We also don’t reward children who don’t turn in their homework with the opportunity to waste the time of those in class who do. Barrack Obama has been promising a plan to get the economy going for 3 years, but never turned in his homework. He’s done the same for most everything else.

When he has been allowed to address the class he either:
a) Promises to hand in his homework and never does
b) Promises to deliver homework that will fulfill his assignment, then hands in something that doesn’t fulfill any of the requirements [Budget & TARP]
c) Or promises to do his homework and then hands in someone else’s homework claiming it is his [Obamacare].

Not only are these the games of a child, but I might add a very badly behaving child.

requires a vote on a joint resolution to pass the Senate and House. To grant Obama his wish, Boehner would have to 1) call back Congress earlier on Wednesday for the vote and, 2) get enough Republicans in the House to not vote against the resolution as payback for Obama’s jerking them around just to score political points. That the White House requested that time is evidence that they are either both petty and stupid enough to think that Republicans will reward their petty insults, or mind-bogglingly incompetant in the most basic of governmental scheduling procedures. My money is on both.

depends I guess on whether Obama would rather watch football or if Michelle has something to do that requires his attention.

It would be impossible for the Rs to complain enough about Obama’s trampling over the legislative branch.

I think the key is for all of us including the Republicans to address whether some of these regulations and laws really fall under the scope of the power of the federal government. Not make it personal to Obama. There is enough to criticize there. I don’t want these powers that Obama has used to be available to a President Cuomo, Romney, Perry, Rubio, Pelosi . . .

if there is a President Pelosi, I am outta here! I”ll have to learn German or something.

I was unaware of Boehner’s letter, and the logistical reasons for doing the speech on another night. So does that mean that his speech will be moved?

I guess he doesn’t feel the need to coordinate with the House, or Congress at all, after all, he has consistently made them more and more insignificant, and unfortunately the R’s have not made a big deal of it. His Czars, regulators, and EO’s are his means of ruling over his kingdom.

gives Captain Zero the ability to convene one or both houses of Congress on “extraordinary Occasions” and to provide information on the State of the Union; he already blew the latter appearance. Boehner could respecfully refuse by stating that prolific golfing excursions and and numerous vacations embarked upon since the Summer of Recovery hardly support the rationale used to define the former.

Of course that would require spine and commitment. Boehner and the RINOs will fold like cheap suits.

logistical reasons why it is not a good night to have the speech. I realize the President would rather be watching football on the following night, and YES if they had to, the Republicans could take extra-ordinariy measures to comply with Barry’s request, but it is not justified for a fair-minded person.

R debate aside, why couldn’t he coordinate with the House before announcing this date?

please have his speech the next night. I doubt he will change the plans, as this is an obvious campaign move on Obama’s part. It’s a look at me, look at me tantrum.

I can’t believe that I just heard VA Atty. Gen. on local radio suggesting that the candidates defer to the president, and cancel the debate until another night. He said that would show respect for the office. My head is still spinning from that.

That Obummer’s own campaign, and the MSM knows that Obummer is in deep, deep trouble to pull a petty, impetuous stunt like this.
I agree that Boehner should not let this happen, but I don’t think he has the stones’ to say No. I hope I am wrong.

The Speaker?s response should be simple: a counter-proposal that invites Obama to address the entire Congress during the day, in either public or private, one day next week.

He should not let Obama have a national platform from which to lecture.

It’s called the State of the Union. He blew it. He knows it. He doesn’t get a second bite at this apple. Boehner should tell him to give the speech whenever he wants to, and from the Oval Office or any other venue he chooses besides the Congress of the United States.

If Boehner provides Obama with a vehicle for a campaign event and another lecture to Republicans about partisanship, he’s the blithering idiot and ought to be replaced immediately by the Republican caucus.

Question: If he is this worried about the GOP debates this far out, what will he do to distract the country from the remaining debates? And, pray-tell, how will he actually debate the GOP nominee?
I have been thinking about what Rush (and others) have been contending that Obummer will use a contrived “national emergency” to cancel elections in a vain attempt to maintain power. I thought that was “Tin-Foil Cap Thinking.” Now I am not so sure. The man is vapor-ware; he was a walking, talking empty suit. He has nothing to fall back on.

At first I thought no, as we know Obama will be using their commentary on his speech to go out and tell anyone who will listen how none of the GOP candidates will even give his policies a chance, but I decided bring it ! It is time for the country to say yes to Obama’s continuing transformation or any 1 of the candidates which would be a 180 and best time to do it is when its fresh in their minds.

Then I thought no, as the debate could turn into a rehash on the speech and not ideas; but don’t you think NBC is going to do that anyways; even days later ?

I am quite sure Newt and Santorum have the stones to tell anyone watching that Obama gave the same speech last year and it did nothing.
