FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

Jennifer Granholm’s slack-jawed economic advice.

Apparently, it’s all about planned economies: former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm is for ‘em.

“We operate as though we are not in a global economy,” says Granholm. “In theory, free markets and laissez faire make perfect sense, but in practice, our competitors are eating us for lunch.”

(pause)

Remember, this was supposed to be one of the Democrats’ smart ones. One of the people that was supposed to make you wistful that we only let native-born citizens be President (Granholm was born in Canada). Kind of alarming that she’s now talking about how free market capitalism just isn’t practical? – Because unless Jennifer Granholm had a stroke recently or something, this is probably not a new opinion for her. Which means that she probably had that opinion while she was running the state of Michigan. Which explains the current state of Michigan rather handily, really.

Now, I could rebut this in two ways. First off, I could subject all of you to three paragraphs’ worth of generally tedious discussion about how: we don’t actually have as free a market system as we should; we have a less free market system as we had several years ago, thanks to the current insane clown posse of technocratic theoreticians running the country; that it’s not surprising that if we’re deliberately using a leftist (read: inferior) economic model, it then turns out that the countries with more experience in such things are doing relatively better; and that Jennifer Granholm should thank God for term limits, because even if she had been eligible to run in 2010 her own party would have broken her kneecaps to keep her out of the race. Or, I could show you this graph* showing the unemployment rate during ex-Gov. Granholm’s tenure:

…which pretty much makes my point for me. Well, that and the fact that Detroit is seriously contemplating going back to farming as an alternative revenue generator.

Farming.

PS: Granholm ended her Salon interview by rubbing her hands at the thought of a Perry candidacy, by the way: “…Perry is just so far out of the mainstream in terms of Michigan and the industrial Midwest. I don’t see how that works.” No kidding. Hey, real quick, Jenny: what’s the difference between Michigan and Texas?

Texas still has a functional industrial base…

had to put up with *JENNY GEE* {and Dan: The Man! Mulhern,Advisor-in-Chief/Hubby), for 8 years. This flaccid excuse for a Governor was no more than a semi-comatose tool of Labor and Progressivism. Her record of accomplishment is non-existent, as is noted in Michiganians calling her tenure “The Lost Decade”
Recently Jenny has released a book,”co-written” by her husband, as he was and is an integral part of the problem that WAS our Lost Years. Reviews were placed in the Free Press/Detroit News Joint Sunday Editions. A liberal team of married employees (one on each paper,Dickerson/Berman) did this deed and “Syncophants” just about covers it.
Look for this tome’ under un-level refrigerators, washers & dryers near you, shortly. This is the only balance this book can achieve. Look for it in The Humor Section of a bookseller, near you.

P S: About a month ago, an Det.News story ran detailing urban farming attempts in Detroit, which has vast swaths of vacant land available. A gent named Hantz has been espousing this for some time. One interviewee commented:{Paraphrasing}” We are all done Chopping Cotton, no one will do the work.” No one there now, perhaps.Wait awhile.

I’ve lived through three bad governors. Milliken the RINO, Blanchard the taxman, and Granholm. Snyder the nominal republican at best is on his way of being the 4th bad one.

Granholm is however the Matt Millen of Govenors. It does not get worse. Millen was 31-97 as President of the Detroit Lions and turned the once proud franchise into a joke with no winning seasons. Granholm’s eight year recession turned her governorship into a joke.

Granholm discussing economics is like Matt Millen analyzing NFL drafts.

    Granbi…holm as Millen.
    You look good.
    Everyone likes you.
You just don’t know what you’re doing.

As far as Snyder, ya have to give him more than 9 months.
I’ll wait till next summer to get some things done first.

Best part of a nightmare is when you wake up, and its over. But the damage she brought will take decades to repair, and it seems our nightmare will never end. Want to see just what liberal government brings you? Just look at Michigan, and especially Detroit, our once proud state where manufacturing was the envy of the entire world. We are truely the “welfare state”, and the parasites are currently stripping everything of value, from the vacant shells of wonderful city homes, to the tools of education from the very schools in the city that could educate and build a future. The theives are everywhere, everything is being torn apart, and no one cares. The last mayor was the biggest theif of all. Jail is too good for him, we owe him so much.
