  • Ender

This is so important. Who knows what is going on in the cities – those turnout numbers are ridiculous.

  • Ender

    wow horrible

  • commonsenseobserver

Let’s hope Wisconsin does not choose to go backwards with Barrett and Barack.

  • commonsenseobserver

    Pray and believe.

  • APA Guy

In fact, they are saying that Walker’s exit polling has him up by 10 pts with Catholics, up from a 2 pt margin before…and that turnout is HUGE in GOP-favored areas.

  • Ender

right at the top of the hour.

  • Lisa Bullock-Hock

I saw on twitter where it was reported that a woman had a Ohio driver’s license, but a WI electric bill and was allowed to vote. I think they will keep counting until the Democrats win, like they did when Al Frankin won in Minnesota. Some ballots will be in the trunk of someone’s care or something and just turn up all voting democrat. I think this is going to be a fight. We’ll see.

  • APA Guy

That doesn’t meet my definition of “horrible”.

  • http://groups.yahoo.com/group/republican587/ Elizabeth Christian

    http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/06/05/report-voter-turnout-119-percent-in-madison

I agree with the person who posted under comments on this site first – “even the dead got to vote twice”! Debbie Wasserman Schultz was right when she said it was a test run for the fall – when you can’t win – resurrect the dead and allow them to vote multiple times until the Democrats win.

Still holding out hope that the voter fraud was not widespread enough to defeat Walker – only time will tell.

  • Christine

Perhaps that is where the strange number comes from.

  • kpom

Daniel Bice of J-S said the final exit polls were 50/50. This is going to be a squeaker. I’m worried that the GOP got complacent.

  • Ender

of urban win for Barrett was 2 to 1. That’s why it will be as close as it is. I am just hoping we can pull this out. The electorate is heavy Dem leaning it looks like. Exit poll showed Obama 54 to Romney 42.

  • hones

in other news, Steve Rothman in NJ-9 is getting crushed early.

  • kpom

Could we have a split result?

  • Kyle-MI

At least this fall WI should have voter ID activated.

  • califgal

polls closed at 8, others at 9–Drudge says “9″–obviously wrong.

The notion that we don’t have photo voter ID’s in every state sickens me.

Would like to hear Rove about now as he’s as knowledgeable as anyone on precincts.

  • APA Guy

Don’t go all Debbie Downer on us…sheesh…the results aren’t even in yet.

  • kpom

The party turnout was 35/32/33 Dem/GOP/Ind. That doesn’t bode well for Walker, since Barrett was pulling even with Independents this time around.

  • acat

    That’s gotta be on Barrett’s to-kill list …

    Mew

  • Kyle-MI

The base number is voters registered before election. That is how they get above 100%.

By the way, the 119% number is an estimate from a county official before the voting began. It is not the final number, yet.

  • Ender

I was hoping it would be a better exit poll based on the polling prior to election and earlier Drudge “numbers”. Hopefully our turnout can overcome.

  • APA Guy

…and he won Catholic voters by a much larger margin.

It will come down to GOTV, as it always does. Our enthusiasm was right there, so I’m a little more optimistic than you are.

  • buddha1556

How does a first rate nation allow for such third rate election integrity? How is registering at the polls even allowed? A 50/50 exit poll smells awfully fishy. I’m trying to stay positive, but I think we’re getting bent over here.

  • aesthete

There’s a very, very good chance that Walker wins: he has an energized base and the people agree with him. Every race in Wisconsin in the interim has confirmed this sentiment, and college kids don’t vote. It’ll be public unions against everyone else…. and even with their trickery, I don’t think that’s going to be enough.

Even if Walker loses, he accomplished much and I expect that we will see some real reform in less leftist states.

  • commonsenseobserver

Amend the Voting Rights Act to mandate voter identification, at least for federal elections.

  • Kyle-MI

It is 8pm local (central) time and 9pm eastern time, so it depends on where you (the reader) are.

  • APA Guy

…and they all have the same Eeyore mentality.

Suspicious, I am, of your motives…

  • APA Guy

…posting comments to discourage us as though we have lost. We were loaded for bear with this fight, and we’re taking it home tonight…bank on it.

  • commonsenseobserver

Let’s hope the exit polls are wrong. The figure to watch is whether Walker stays above 52%.

  • APA Guy

…and a 57-43 edge among married voters is very telling since they are the most reliable voters save the elderly.

  • Ender

as more #s come in. So hopefully that 50/50 will change in our favor soon.

  • APA Guy

It will be close, but I’ll be shocked if Walker doesn’t pull this out.

  • kpom

I’m just worried. This is probably the most important election, and 2nd most important event this year (next to the SCOTUS ruling).

  • http://impudent.edublogs.org/ kyle8

The dems always have a way of “finding” enough votes. That is how Toad Frankin won.

  • APA Guy

Dems act as though heavy turnout automatically favors them. We know this is a bellwether indicator for the presidential election, and our turnout is reflecting that.

Have confidence…we’ll be the ones standing after the 12th round.

  • commonsenseobserver

The Democrats have an inbuilt advantage.

  • APA Guy

Have courage…in any prize fight, it’s the fighter left standing who is the champion. I’ll put my money on Scott Walker any day.

  • kpom

94% of Republicans votes for Walker; 92% of Democrats voted for Barrett; Walker took won Indies 50%-49% in exits. #wirecall

  • mikeymike143

    57% to 42% walker, with 5% reported

  • commonsenseobserver

    Have fun while that lasts…

  • Ender

The NY Times Polls just tweeted:

Fyi, Absentee votes to be counted now; may be at least 10%; not reflected in exit surveys.

  • Ender

    as well… :)

  • gekster

I think the close #s were to suck people in to watch.

  • califgal

IN the state in which the election is held. Thus, all reports should have said 8pm Central time. Those in Eastern Time Zone (the damn media) and those in my zone (West) could figure it out for ourselves.

  • APA Guy

Pad that lead for when the urban areas roll in…not looking bad at all thus far.

  • mikeymike143

it looks like the people of wisconsin doing the right thing at the ballot box

  • commonsenseobserver

Just curious. Walker won it, but Prosser lost it.

  • Ender

    http://elections.nytimes.com/2012/primaries/results/live/wisconsin-recall?hp

vs daily kos benchmarks for counties from last time and what Barrett needs to win:

    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/06/05/1097576/-Wisconsin-recall-benchmarks-and-predictions-thread

For numbers junkies that is good. A few random counties percentages show Walker doing same as in 2010 or slightly better. I will keep watching. That’s good so far.

  • forsythc

Walker running 3% ahead of 2010 in Fond du Lac (44% in), 8% ahead in Door County (43% in), even with 2010 in Dodge County (66% in), even with 2010 in Jefferson (35% in), 8% ahead in Green Lake (72% in), 4% ahead in Sauk County (33% in).

  • tnfriendofcoal101368

That might actually play out, PPP had Walker up three and considering their normal methodology the poll was probably taken in Milwaukee.

  • APA Guy

Will be closer, but not feeling a razor-thin result.

  • Kyle-MI

The GOP always seems to come out of the gate fast and then slow up as we get close to the finish line.

The Dems always seem to hold back some of their strongholds until the final numbers. Although Ace of Spades is reporting 17% from Dane county (where Madison is located).

  • APA Guy

Tune it in to Fox and CNN. CNN, for all they do wrong, is very good at analyzing county demographics and the numbers game. The kos kids and NYT project based on what they WISH would happen and will drive you bonkers.

  • Ender

but that is very encouraging so far.

  • Ender

to get my blood pressure up. But CNN has no county by county stuff going on for some reason. You can’t spin raw numbers :)

Over / under on turnout in Madison:
    Vegas has it at 123%

  • commonsenseobserver

    Walker by more than 45%!

    NYTimes.

  • kpom

Trivedi seems to be drawing more from Barrett. With 15% in, Walker’s margin is 1% higher than Kleefisch’s. Hopefully Walker is building a big enough lead in the rural and WOW counties to offset Dane, Milwaukee, Eau Claire, etc.

  • Repair_Man_Jack

updated Exit polls on CNN Walker 52-48!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • kpom

Not good. I worry about all the “new registrations.”

  • kpom

It still says 50-50 on the website.

  • http://travismonitor.blogspot.com Freedoms Truth

    … traditional ballot-stuffing SOP.

They’ll see if they can scrape the votes they need … or if its hopeless. 119% of Milwaukee voted …. hmmmmm.

Drudge says Walker exit polls have Walker up 5.

With 15% in, strong Walker lead of 70,000. hehe.

  • swami7774

“…from all indications, from what we’re hearing, Scott Walker pulls this out.” said it at 9:48.

  • Repair_Man_Jack

18 % in. Ceteris Paribus Walker loses this one by 20K. But, that’s a 60K improvement from how badly he lost in 2010.

  • APA Guy

…and not for your guy, either :)

  • commonsenseobserver

We’ll have to hope that Walker’s margins are enough.

  • Rusty_S

Hannity claims Fox is about to make a call.

  • forsythc

Walker 4% ahead of 2010 in Brown County (GREEN BAY, 53% in), 9% ahead of 2010 in Crawford County (41% in), 9% ahead of 2010 in TREMPEALEAU County, 6% behind 2010 in Bayfield (very Democratic North) (54% in), even in Sawyer County (48% in), even in Iron County (37% in), 2% ahead in Vilas (47% in), 9% ahead in Forest County (35% in),

Even with urban areas coming in, 22-point deficit is impossible to overcome.

  • Dave_A

I’m predicting a minimum 4-point spread, one way or the other…

This is simply too polarizing of an election to make it a nail-biter: It’s an exhibition game for November….

  • Ender

    it’s over.

  • forsythc

Compared with 75% in 2010. Key suburban Milwaukee County. 42% in.

  • tnfriendofcoal101368

for Walker, Big Eddie is near in tears. I have popcorn.

  • Ender

lol hahahahahahahahahahahhaahah. The good guys win.

  • Dave_A

So yes, they do hold back – helps stuff the ballot boxes…

One of the greatest things LOST since Florida in 2000, was the Diebold electronic voting system. You can’t ‘stuff’ an encrypted computer database, like you can a box of anonymous scantron sheets..

The next thing we NEED to do after Voter-ID is bring back paperless electronic voting.

That said, WI uses scantron, so there will be no ‘hanging chads’….

  • commonsenseobserver

    :)

  • APA Guy

    LOVING this :)

  • Dave_A

Although they’re normally left of CNN, they endorsed Walker this time…

Mainly because the paper, while liberal, gives a rat’s about the state & city budget….

  • Ender

scared me. Sorry about that, I was freaking out.

  • westcoastpatriette

    Amen, amen

  • kpom

    YES!

  • APA Guy

    A GREAT biggie.

  • Repair_Man_Jack

Barrett has to win the other 4 Quintiles by at least 4%. Assumming turnout is constant % in every precinct. Barrett has to run the table from here on out or he is probably toast.

  • Jack_Savage

“Unions are all powerful, GOP shouldn’t bother coming out”.

    What a joke CNN is.

  • Kyle-MI

Walker lost it by 81k in 2010 but Prosser lost only by 30k. Whereas in Dane county Walker lost by 81k and Prosser lost by 85k.

  • Dave_A

A dead man could run on the GOP ticket and win there…

    Expected.

    GOOD, but expected…

  • septembergurl

on the right dissolve in pools of sweat and urine as the MSM come out with their fraudulent exit poll numbers. Walker has 60, Barrett 40, oh my god we are doomed etc.

Wake the hell up you losers!

A big victory for us, a defeat for them. The exit polls are crap. Stop believing the MSM!

Wonderful night for Scott Walker and his supporters.

Phew … I was worried and fretting about this race, watching the exit polls and early vote total, and then I saw you had this in the original.

“Spoiler alert: Scott Walker will win.”

Jeez, I should read more carefully.

  • Ender

    can’t stop smiling :)

  • Jack_Savage

now a loser in Wisconsin repping the loser network of the alternative prom, MSNBC.

  • RealQuiet

I’m so happy right now :) How in the world is the media going to spin this?? Romney has a great shot at taking out Obama there in November

  • Repair_Man_Jack

    Barrett is done.

And if we can get these same voters to show up in November, Obama will get sent packing…

Exit polls were 52-48, but the lead is huge now. I could see parts of Madison doing a King County “let’s wait and see how many votes we need” fiasco.

  • APA Guy

    Heh…heh heh

  • Jack_Savage

Hopefully Chicago machine politics, American Communists and organized crime will soon follow.

  • commonsenseobserver

They’re proceeding a bit too slowly.

Walker wins and Big Labor loses! Thank God!

Good job Wisconsin, you all did the right thing. Your state will be better and more prosperous for your courage to stand up to the union thugs.

    Good link.

But Walkers outperformed all the GOP counties, and the GOP turnout was beyond amazing. I can see it being 7-10 point win.

    Even with the fraud-machine on a red-bull & meth-induced overdrive… They won’t be able to cover the gap….

  • gekster

And in Wisconsin of all places.

  • APA Guy

Dance the happy dance…the time for hand-wringing is over.

  • tnfriendofcoal101368

    A big win…

  • Jack_Savage

Think about it. They hate fat, rich jerks who do nothing but badger them to pay union dues then line their pockets or give the money to Obama, people who don’t pull their own weight, people who make crappy decisions then want others to bail them out, and unions standing up only for the do-nothings among them.

In other words, it turns out they are just like us.

  • mikeymike143

    cant stop the tea party

  • septembergurl

Scott Walker the first governor in US history to defeat a recall!

Also state Senators facing recalls win as well.

I’d like to see some investigation of the fraudulent exit polling which had a 50-50 result, obviously fabricated.

  • Repair_Man_Jack

    -NT

  • Jack_Savage

    I think they said “NOT”.

  • commonsenseobserver

    Barrett is winning Milwaukee.

Anyone knows why Walker lost 10% in Sheboygan?

  • westcoastpatriette

They should have to pay the people back for putting them through this.

  • commonsenseobserver

    But still twilight in America.

  • APA Guy

    Blue-collar support?

We got it…and we’ll get it again in November because those same workers understand what Dems are doing to the country they love.

  • tngal

When “Walker” and “unexpected” and “leading” are mentioned in the same sentence by a talking head on either tv, radio or web.

    Drink. Anything at hand.

Because they didn’t see it coming – (how could they miss it) and we deserve it!

Make it a double if Obama, obamacare, Romney, dog, or (?) is also mentioned in same sentence.

  • commonsenseobserver

    The shy conservative factor..

It’s like a repeat of the 1992 UK General Election.

  • Repair_Man_Jack

Barrett 10K votes behind 2010′s margin of victory.

  • Jack_Savage

Blue collar voters are solid Americans, who likely served in the military or had family members who did, work their butts off, play by the rules and expect others to do the same. They know Obama is pissing away their children’s inheritance.

    Our kind of people.

  • APA Guy

Note: My wife is laughing so hard at the irony of these election results apropos my profession that she is literally rolling on the ground :)

  • http://travismonitor.blogspot.com Freedoms Truth

    Liberty wins.

    Special interest rent-seeking tax-moochers lose.

    Nice day.

  • exrayman4000

A win is a win I know. I was just wondering 2 things. First how much of the pro Walker vote was simply people expressing fatigue at all the recent recalls. Second can the GOP maintain this level of voter excitement into the November elections?

  • Jack_Savage

What a brave man you are to inhabit such a world, BTW. You’re like the little green plant in Disney’s “WALL-E” movie, a teeny sprig of hope on a planet turned into a dumpster.

Good guys 1, leftist union scum 0.

Let’s all drink a toast to sanity in Wisconsin.

  • Dave_A

This was a broader strategic ‘win’ for our side…

We made them waste their cash & energy on taking the WI governorship….

And they’ve only got 4 months until they have to defend WI’s EVs in the Presidential…

Gonna be hard to scrounge up more union cash that fast – especially with folks bailing out of the public-unions, due to Walker’s reforms….

  • gekster

Even though it is an enviromental movie, I still loved it.

    God has answered my prayers,

  • Jack_Savage

Seems like some people are getting tired of their Capitol trashed, Democrats running out of the state like wet rats, and getting pushed around and told what to do.

Congratulations, and many thanks to the voters of Wisconsin.

I can’t wait to hear all the excuses from campus liberals as to why Scott Walker whooped Barrett. I’m already hearing wails of torment in my inbox about “fraud”. Didn’t I see something similar on a newspaper cover in Citizen Kane? :)

  • mikeymike143

and here is why i say that.

you know how wisconsin has been flooded with tea party activists from all over the country the past few months to help walker. we have also been helping the wisconsin tea party groups grow in leaps in bounds and share all our knowledge with them. trust me, we went out there to help walker, but also to set the table for an obama defeat. we believe wisconsin is a toss up.

That’s the thing…a good professor – whether liberal or conservative – will present information objectively…then allow students to make arguments to replace assertions. I had undergrad professors who were outwardly liberal give me 100% grades on term papers when I knew they disagreed with the argument, but felt that I backed up my arguments with FACTS. Others flat-out told me they marked me down because I was “wrong”…no disputing evidence to the contrary, just that I was “wrong”.

    Talk about simpletons…

In my classes, I tell students I could care less about where they personally fall on the ideological spectrum. But they are REQUIRED to write research papers and build arguments, not state opinions. You would be amazed what conservative (AND liberal) college learners are capable of when the shackles are taken off and their learning methods updated accordingly. Some find they weren’t quite so liberal after all :)

… but this was a WIPEOUT.

Margin well above the 2010 vote, so this AFFIRMS the 2010 election. mandate++ and is the green light for every Governor around the nation to curb the monopolistic powers of greedy public sector unions.

Good eye, by the way :)

The MSNBC pundits are trying to sell, “Walker voters in exit polling support Obama theme”…I point out one problem, their exit polling showed a straight up 50/50 dogfight that Walker wins 8-9 i.e. there might be some issues in the exit polling.

  • commonsenseobserver

    Wonder how that’ll turn out…

  • tnfriendofcoal101368

I suspect the exit polling was mainly conducted in Milwaukee, Green Bay and Madison. It was unable to account for the huge Republican ground game.

Don’t think for a minute that Bill’s warning was the end. After your blogging in this thread tonight and cheer-leading for every Dem sliver of silver lining amidst this Walker beat-down, I have you on my radar.

In other words, keep up this insidious trolling and you’ll last about as long here as Barack Obama’s fading re-election chances.

    That’s not a threat…it’s a promise.

  • califgal

and that’ll help get their folks too.

  • checkmate2012

while he’s here in TX. Not holding my breath.

  • bk

The margin has been near 200K for a long time now.

  • commonsenseobserver

Little nuggets as a sign of victory for the Democrats. I was just pointing out how pathetic they are now that even such small wins should provide some consolation to them. Consolation which they do not deserve.

    “It’s going to be Barrett”

This poster just began commenting tonight…and while the issue was still in doubt, was working to depress enthusiasm here. This is a tactic of the left that was tried here during the primaries. Trolls CONFESSED on DK that they did it…even outing themselves at times.

BTW, should you actively cheer for Dem positives and/or GOP demise and/or Eeyore when we need excitement, I will be more than happy to call you a troll. A troll, by definition, exists on blogs to disrupt, depress, and divide.

My words may have seemed harsh to you, but the time for games is over. I will not sit idly by while leftist trolls come here to try to disrupt the timely removal of Barack Hussein Obama and his merry band of America-hating idiots. They have admitted it is their aim. I am simply holding them to account.

  • commonsenseobserver

I don’t even read the stuff, although it seems a bit silly for them to be confessing.

What’s your definition of “activiely cheering”, just so that I can avoid that.

And I suspect my words, or theirs (the trolls’) will be able to change anything about Obama’s record, and of course, that’s what the election will be decided by.

    Chill, dude, believe in America.

  • APA Guy

If you can’t figure it out from there…well, then there really is no hope for you.

  • evilbloggerlady

Sweet Sweet Schadenfreude! Charles Johnson on the Walker recall.

  • PowerToThePeople

What would you do if he did?

Good grief. Stick your nose into a conversation that has nothing to do with you then issue an idle threat. Seems trollish to me. Ooops, I dared!

  • mikeymike143

and i will take him up on his dare too since i think he is a paulbot troll, oops, i dared too. ;)

  • texasref

    Quit picking fights.

  • gekster

I have a vid of you.

    Paulbot flying under the radar.
Homeboy lost, to never be seen again.

  • PowerToThePeople

do you ever stop and read what you write? Or are you one of those people who just trap away incessantly just to hear yourself talk?

You come to a thread that has nothing to do with you, order another member around, then threaten him, and yet you tell that same member not to quit picking fights. Really? I know you are not stupid, so I really have to wonder why you type many of the things you type.

  • gekster

Play conservative while posting as a liberal.
We’ve had his number for sometime..
