I don’t think D.C. would like Perry…….the treatment he got from the liberal press indicates how he’d be treated.

Even the libs here in Texas do all they can to run him down, which is what most people outside of Texas listen to…..you know……the MSM repeating what Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio papers try to get out as the “truth” about Perry.

Frankly, I hope he tries again. We need him and desperately. Otherwise people like Dewhurts and libs moving in from other states will have free reign again. I lived through years of liberal actions from Ma Richards, and remember LBJ’s rep as a child. Perry was a breath of fresh air, and Texas has done wonderfully under his watch.

That’s why the libs hate him. He is ruining their story line about how terrible a State will do unless a liberal’s policies are being used.

He said he was disappointed as would be expected, and spent most of the time thanking his family, his supporters, Rick Perry, the state legislators who backed him, etc. “We can stand tall in knowing we never compromised any of our values” despite getting “beat up a little bit” and coming up “a little short”.

He did mention “fighting Barack Obama and his liberal agenda” but his only mention of Cruz was one mangled sentence: “I just got off the phone with Ted Cruz and I offered him my congratulations and his supporters on a hard-fought victory and my support.”

There were a hair under 1.4M votes cast originally and a little over 1.1M yesterday, so there was an almost 80% turnout in the runoff vs the original. And this is from a smaller pool, since the 600K or so people who voted in the original Democratic primary couldn’t cross over and vote for Dewhurst yesterday. Amazing. On the Democratic side, there were fewer than half as many votes yesterday as there were two months ago to pick the guy who’ll lose to Cruz in November.
