Electoral implications of the Obama Administration’s War on Coal.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | May 22nd at 06:30 PM |
Will this be the 2012 election map? If the Obama administration keeps up their War on Coal (literally: they consider coal more dangerous than terrorism), quite possibly. And it may be at least partially because of coal.
EPA orders NYC around on Yonkers reservoir.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | July 11th at 11:00 AM |
Today in the Wall Street Journal we have a fairly caustic editorial about the EPA and its determination to make the city of New York pay for a 1.6 billion dollar cover for a Yonkers water reservoir, whether NYC wants to or not. Which the city of NYC does not want to do, partially because they don’t have the money, and partially because the specific | Read More »

Thomas Sowell has an article out today about the latest incidence of mission creep from the EPA. To summarize: the EPA has wide discretion when it comes to oil spills. Milk contains oil. Therefore, the EPA has wide discretion over milk spills, too – which includes requiring ‘emergency plans’ and ‘first responders’ and ‘extra storage tanks’ from dairy farmers in order to handle such life- | Read More »
EPA’s Lisa Jackson admits responsibility to Gulf…
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | May 26th at 12:30 PM |
…by belatedly canceling a Democratic fundraising appearance: Environmental Protection Agency administrator Lisa Jackson has canceled her appearance at a Democrat fundraiser hours after Politico published a story detailing that engagement. Jackson was scheduled to appear at a breakfast in Manhattan Thursday to benefit the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. An EPA spokesman noted that the appearance was scheduled before the oil spill occurred.
EPA head to fundraise for DSCC while oil spreads.

Priorities, folks: priorities. Apparently Lisa Jackson figures that if Interior Dept CoS Tom Strickland could go white-water rafting while the oil spread, she can go raise money for the Democrats: As the Obama administration struggles to contain the massive oil spill threatening the Louisiana coast, one of its top environmental officials will be the featured attraction at a fundraiser for Senate Democrats next week in | Read More »

…here is your reward: WASHINGTON – The Environmental Protection Agency has concluded greenhouse gases are endangering people’s health and must be regulated, signaling that the Obama administration is prepared to contain global warming without congressional action if necessary. EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson scheduled a news conference for later Monday to announce the so-called endangerment finding, officials told The Associated Press, speaking privately because the announcement | Read More »
GM’s environmental quid pro quo.

(H/T: Instapundit) I am honestly surprised to find that there are people surprised by this. Among those clamoring for attention and payouts from Motors Liquidation Co., the company that assumed General Motors’ unwanted assets after its Chapter 11 filing, are the environmental and economic redevelopment departments of state governments. According to reports, when GM exited bankruptcy, its polluted factory and land sites were consumed by | Read More »
Is the EPA playing office politics with greenhouse gases?

If you don’t have time to read this letter from Rep. Joe Barton, or watch the video below: …let me summarize:
White House’s ‘Blame Bush’ reflex embarrasses them, EPA.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | May 18th at 10:30 PM |
It goes like this (H/T & links via Ed Driscoll and OpenMarket.org). A memo from the EPA surfaced a while back that mentioned in passing that regulating greenhouse gasses to the extent desired by the most fervent global warming believers might have an adverse effect on the impious, too: In contrast, an endangerment finding under section 202 may not be not the most appropriate approach | Read More »
And to think we almost had this guy in the EPA.

I was going to rip into Rep Steve King (R, IA-05) for tossing out a 9 minute YouTube of RFK Jrs’ testimony where he stated that hog farmers were a greater threat than Osama bin Laden. It’s great that Rep King has a channel, but 9 minutes? Then I watched it. My God. My God. If you ever thought that having this lunatic running the | Read More »

When I read [Thursday] morning that President-elect Obama was contemplating picking Robert Kennedy Jr for EPA head, I was pleased. I was very pleased. After all, it’s so rare that you encounter such a case of sheer political idiocy so soon after an election. I mean, really: Kennedy the eco-freak? Kennedy the Air America guy? Kennedy the 2004-election-was-stolen conspiracy loon (and wouldn’t that have been | Read More »
