Reminder: the NRA will score Holder contempt vote.

I’m not sure why I missed this at the time – the letter’s dated June 20th – but it’s official: “the NRA will consider this vote in [their] candidate evaluations.” That doesn’t guarantee a contempt charge passing the House, but only because a contempt charge was already guaranteed. For all the loose and charged rhetoric going around, if Speaker Boehner wasn’t going to let Oversight | Read More »

Deja Vu: the NRA and the Democratic crocodiles.

There’s been a bit of reaction (via Instapundit) to the way that both we and National Review reacted to the way that the NRA carved itself an exemption to the DISCLOSE Act.  The argument, as I understand it, is that the NRA is a single-issue advocacy group; and their single-issue is the Second Amendment, not the First.  And because of their single-issue advocacy, they’re not | Read More »

The Obama administration’s mistakes on the assault weapon ban.

Note plural. Mistake #1: picking an Attorney General and administration spokesman who doesn’t even know current firearms law. Eric Holder was on today announcing that the Obama administration was going to bring back the “assault weapons” ban. As Purple Avenger of Ace of Spades notes, this is the same guy who called for making armor piercing bullets (“cop-killers”) illegal…

The new NRA ad: Or, Red Meat is for wimps.

They do “rip it off the darn cow yourself if you’re so hungry.” Looks like the NRA’s endorsement of McCain – which, might I add, is pretty much all due to Sarah Palin – is going to pay some dividends: Let me put it this way: do you know how I’ll replace really egregiously bad attempts at agitprop with various and sundry YouTube videos? Just | Read More »

Mark Warner: Christian Coalition, Right-to-Lifers, NRA, home-schoolers “threatening what it means to be an American.”

It’s still a filthy thing to say. Filthy, partisan, and untrue. That’s all. Just wanted to make sure that nobody reading this who planned to vote for Warner can ever claim that they didn’t know. Moe Lane PS: Jim Gilmore’s donation page.

The video that Barack Obama doesn’t want you to see.

As Glenn notes, it’s not especially vicious. One issue, yes. Unsympathetic, also yes. But this is hardly “Obama drinks baby blood,” or something. So why is Obama sending out the legal dog pack against stations that air it? Choice of words there deliberate, by the way.
