Update on the US government’s 2011 attack on Gibson Guitars.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | February 23rd at 08:00 PM |
To refresh your memory: the government decided that the Gibson Guitar company was in violation of Indian law (which, thanks to something called the Lacey Act, meant that they had the right to butt in), so they went and raided Gibson’s factory and confiscated a half-million dollars’ worth of raw materials. Happened back in August 2011, and guess what? The feds still haven’t pressed charges! | Read More »
Reason discusses Reality Non-Unicorn.

Mind you, Matt Welch reveals himself to be a rampaging optimist in his last sentence: In the truer-believing regions of the progressive political world, the broad agenda of carbon price hikes, centralized health care, greater regulation, increased taxes, and government-mandated diversity in boardrooms are not just sound and moral policy. They are inherently popular, if only the usual obstacles to justice and reform can be | Read More »
Although the Nobel thing has pretty much crested by now…

Bush, and for changing American foreign policy by continuing super peaceful Predator drone attacks on the Taliban and pouring more troops into Afghanistan, | Read More »
“The Brown Scare.” Catchy.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | June 12th at 08:00 AM |

When it came to the “Red Scare” (which is what Jesse Walker is referencing in his article at Reason Hit & Run), hysteria aside there actually was an organized Soviet Communist effort to destabilize the West. I know that Jesse knows this, but it needs to be addressed, given that the point of his | Read More »
Take pity on the Tea-Party hating Left?
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | April 30th at 02:02 PM |
(Via Glenn Reynolds) Matt Kibbe at Reason is too full of the milk of human kindness when it comes to the Online Left’s reaction to the Tea Party phenomenon. The remarkable ends to which lefty bloggers, Nobel Laureates, bit-part actresses, and even a senior White House official all went to discredit the massive grassroots revolt perfectly matches Elizabeth Kübler-Ross‘ famous work on how to deal | Read More »
Reason TV: ‘Barack W. Bush.’
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | March 31st at 11:10 PM |
If only. While the foreign affairs part of this video is largely true, I have to disagree with it on two key points: First off, the Obama administration has not “stopped torture.” They’ve started it back up again, only they’re going to be handing the job over to countries, in an essentially deniable fashion. And go read up on counter-terror operations conducted by, say, the | Read More »
