MO Secretary of State Robin Carnahan (D) cuts and runs.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | September 30th at 05:30 PM |
It’s official: the last remaining ostensibly politically viable member of the once-powerful Carnahan dynasty has decided to not seek a third term. I say ‘ostensibly’ because it was actually unclear that Robin Carnahan was ever going to recover from her humiliating shellacking at the hands of Roy Blunt in last year’s MO-SEN race (13 points is pretty bad). And I say ‘last remaining’ because her | Read More »
Missouri redistricting hurts Russ Carnahan.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | March 30th at 10:31 PM |
The below is being floated as a potential redistricting map for Missouri: I’ll summarize the changes as follows: Missouri loses a district, thanks to the 2010 Census. On the Republican side, Vicki Hartzler is liking this map least: she had some R areas taken away from her and given to Emanuel Cleaver, and has been given some D areas from Luetkemeyer. On the other hand, | Read More »
Connecting the dots on the Missouri wind farm payoff.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | October 7th at 08:00 PM |
The video is largely self-explanatory, but here is the time-line, with links. Tom Carnahan owns a company called Wind Capital Group, which (unsurprisingly) produces wind energy. Wind power is a type of alternate energy beloved of environmental fundamentalists except when it’s in sight of private Nantucket compounds, or controlled by Native Americans. Although this might change, as the motivating/indulging force in each case died last | Read More »
Robin Carnahan campaign apologizes for attack.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | August 10th at 03:00 PM |
It seems that one of their campaign’s guys (Kansas City Councilman Bill Skaggs) got a little grabby and profane with a Republican video tracker. By that I mean that Skaggs apparently laid hands on the video tracker, threatened him, swore at him (not bleeped out on the video below, so keep that in mind), and called him ‘boy’*. Funny how these people hate being on | Read More »
BAM! POW! BLUNT! MO-SEN!
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | May 17th at 10:20 AM |
Sorry, just getting into the spirit of things: Personally, I would have said that the Adam West Batman was far too cool and sophisticated to be associated with Robin Carnahan; she’s much more identifiable with the infamous Batman & Robin version. Still, doing it this way let us watch men in suits fight with farm implements, so I supposed that it’s for the best. Moe | Read More »
Ah, Robin Carnahan? Nothing ever goes away.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | May 3rd at 03:59 PM |
(All links via 24thState, which is pretty much your go-to site for Missouri politics these days.) On the Internet, that is. So, when the Blunt campaign (accurately) notes that you were ““a banking executive” in Washington at the government’s Export-Import Bank,” and you argue instead that your “position in the 1990s was assistant to the chairman” – thus suggesting that you were in fact not | Read More »
Dorwin Award*: Robin Carnahan.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | November 11th at 03:04 PM |
Watch with some amusement as Missouri Secretary of State (and Senate hopeful) Robin Carnahan (D) refuses to answer two simple questions: Does she support the House’s health care rationing bill? and What is her opinion on the Stupak amendment? (See also: The Conservatives.com) While Carnahan’s response to the first question might be at least considered a standard attempt at mealy-mouthing, and thus not overly outrageous; | Read More »
Robin Carnahan’s (D, MO-SEN Cand) Bad Day (As in, possible ethics violations).
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | October 15th at 11:30 PM |
The fact that Roy Blunt had raised 200K more than Robin Carnahan in the Senate race was already known – but 24thstate is now reporting that Ed Martin has also raised 40K more than Russ Carnahan for the MO-03 race. Which is interesting, as Martin only declared around the end of July. Guess when they say “Show-Me” in Missouri, they mean it. But that’s not | Read More »
Quick looks at 2010: AR-01, MO-SEN, & NM-02.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | October 13th at 09:30 PM |
Some points of interest, for various campaigns: AR-01: Rick Crawford – who is running against Marion Berry, AKA The Guy Who Can’t Remember That He’s Not Supposed to Be Taken Farm Subsidies – has a revamped website. It’s a definite improvement over the old version, and should allow for more and better networking. AR-01 is a R+8 district, and long overdue for a Congressman not | Read More »
