PROSECUTORS: Jesse Jackson Jr. knew of Senate seat offer.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | July 8th at 02:43 PM |
Hoo, boy. A supporter of U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. told the Democratic congressman in 2008 that he would raise $1 million in return for then- Gov. Rod Blagojevich naming Jackson to the U.S. Senate, a federal prosecutor said Wednesday. The allegation, made on a busy day at Blagojevich’s federal corruption trial, was the first time authorities publicly suggested Jackson was aware of efforts by | Read More »

By: Moe Lane (Diary) | June 28th at 08:00 AM |
A pleasant beginning to the week, no? First it was President Barack Obama, then White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, now U.S. Senate Candidate Alexi Giannoulias is joining the Rod Blagojevich corruption trial subpoena list. Giannoulias is in the middle of a hard fought campaign against Congressman Mark Kirk for the right to fill the U.S. Senate seat once held by President Obama. So | Read More »
Blagojevich & Obama.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | April 23rd at 06:00 PM |
(Via Instapundit) John Kass has a thoroughly entertaining article up on the way that former Governor Blagojevich is doing his level best to drag President Obama into the equally thoroughly entertaining drama that is former Governor Blagojevich’s corruption trial. To summarize: the government is using Tony Rezko to go after Blagojevich; Blagojevich needs to taint Rezko’s testimony; so Blagojevich wants Obama to testify about Rezko. | Read More »
Ed Case hires a Blago Boy for HI-01 race.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | April 20th at 08:30 AM |
Because surely you don’t think that getting Establishment Democratic support from the mainland comes free, do you? With corruption running rampant through the ranks of the Democrat party in Washington, Hawai’i Democrat candidate Ed Case looked the other way when he hired Washington political consultant Fred Yang of Hart Research to do his polling. Yang has previously worked for disgraced former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich. | Read More »
The NRSC wastes *no* time on properly greeting Giannoulias.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | February 3rd at 12:21 AM |
(H/T: @sorendayton) You know, I noticed during the run-up to the Illinois Senatorial primary that more than one Democratic activist expressed worries about a Giannoulias primary win. And why were they worried? Pretty much because of what you’re about to see. Welcome to Chicago. Moe Lane PS: Mark Kirk for Senate. Crossposted to Moe Lane.

Rod Blagojevich hath a website.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | August 9th at 11:24 PM |
This, I think, deserves Ace of Spade HQ‘s Flaming Skull: Rod Blagojevich, the disgraced and displaced former governor of Illinois, now has a website where he continues his fight for “ordinary people,” the Associated Press reports. He has a website, a… radio talk show (WLS-890 AM, although he’s not on the schedule yet), a book (The Governor*) – and he’s available for public speaking gigs! | Read More »
I cannot *believe* that this is part of Blago’s Revenge.

Burris did in fact make an offer for the Senate seat.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | May 27th at 10:45 AM |
I am perilously close to being gobsmacked by this transcript of the Burris/Blagojevich conversation (via Hot Air). I’m not a lawyer, but it seems to me that there’s enough there to indicate that Roland Burris flat-out lied about not trading favors and money for the Senate seat. I am not, however, so stunned as to be unable to remind people about this, this, this, this, | Read More »

Results for the IL-05 primaries: Pulido, Quigley, some Green.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | March 4th at 09:50 AM |
The general election is in April, but the majority of reporting is assuming that the winner of the Democratic Party is a shoo-in for the general election. So noted. Moving along, on the Republican side anti-illegal immigration activist and Minuteman member Rosanna Pulido has won the nomination. Speaking as a pro-”amnesty” anti-immigration squishy-soft moderate, I sincerely congratulate her on her victory and wholeheartedly endorse her | Read More »
Chicago Tribune futilely calls for Burris’ resignation.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | February 17th at 09:49 PM |
(Via Hot Air Headlines) It’s a lovely thought, but it won’t happen. If either state or Senate Democrats cared enough about the humiliation that they were putting the people of Illinois through with this sorry mess, they would have changed the law to permit a special election in the first place. But that wasn’t important. Keeping the seat in the hands of one political party? | Read More »

For great justice.
