Mr. Ed’s Musings
"Straight from the Horse's Mouth"
Random thoughts from an often warped mind….
Just once, I’d like to hear a political pundit finish this overused phrase as follows: “You know, at the end of the day…..I go to sleep.”
Just once, I’d like to see a political pundit who uses the phrase: “I was struck by….” actually get struck by some object.
I’m forming the NANL, the National Association of Non-Lobbyists, to better represent all of us who don’t lobby legislators and think special interests are corrupting our political system. Care to join?
Born in the U.S.S.A…The Frog is Done Boiled. Who are we kidding when we say we live in a capitalistic representative democracy? Is there any aspect of our lives the federal government doesn’t either control or substantially influece? Let’s face it folks, we now live in a Socialist country.
Why don’t the rich pay higher prices for consumer goods? After all, they can afford it. I say those earning over $250,000 a year should pay up to 38% more for bread, cars, rent, etc. If this is a good philosophy for the IRS, why not make it applicable for all purchases, too?
I’ve been told the top five percent of wage earners in the U.S. contribute 50% of the country’s federal tax revenues. Will a liberal please tell me what percentage of federal tax revenues the “rich” should be paying? And why should the bottom five percent of wage earners not pay any taxes? Is this fair? Don’t they also benefit from federal programs, perhaps even more so, than the top wage earners? Why can’t everyone just pay the same amount? Or at least pay the same percentage of their earnings as everyone else?
