They really do believe the ends justify the means. Because, in their minds, no objective truth exists, they can do whatever they want, including lying, cheating, and stealing, because they can rationalize their lying, cheating and stealing as really being something else.

And that’s why they are dangerous when they wield the levers of political power.

I once had a young Jewish Harvard Law School grad, and Clinton campaign volunteer, explain to matter-of-factly how Hitler really wasn’t guilty of any crimes against humanity with respect to the Final Solution because everything he did was “legal.” Post-modernists do not believe in the “silly” notion that we are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights. This same silly fellow later admitted to me that he had never read the Declaration of Independence from start to finish. I was not surprised. He was very intelligent, but had not an ounce of common sense.

Want to have fun with a post-modernist? Start a political discussion. Use facts and logic to support your position (they won’t). Steer the conversation to objective truth, good versus bad, evil versus good, “A is A.” The post-modernist will have none of it and will explain that truth really does not exist because there is no objective truth. Let them give you the full dissertation that we can’t really know anything because their is no “black and white” objective truth, that there are already shades of grey, etc. Then tell that if they really believe that, how can they be certain that their argument is correct, as there is no objective proof of anything. Then, as their face turns to the ?deer in headlights? look as they realize just how stupid they sound, end the discussion by explaining that it?s therefore pointless to argue with them, because they?ve just proven they believe there?s no such thing as truth and, therefore, everything they believe is just opinion, and anything that comes out of their mouth is just their opinion which they?ve admitted they can?t prove since no objective proof exists.

You also may get this, which I got from the youngster once: We really can’t prove, even, that we exist.

I begged to differ, I told him. I told him I could prove he existed. And I could also prove he didn’t really have any certainty about his nonsensical belief.

I told him to go up to the roof of the nine-story building we worked in and jump off to the sidewalk. I asked him to go right by window. Then I’d come down and he could explain to me again why I was wrong and he was right.

As Reagan used to say, “The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant, but that they know so much that isn’t so.”
