By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | February 26th at 01:16 PM |
Yesterday, North Carolina Republicans called for an investigation of the progressive 501 (c) (3) group Blueprint NC, whichdrafted a memo calling for the evisceration of the party’s leadership. It was leaked to the press last Thursday, and Blueprint has since disavowed the memo. They’ve also claimed to be a “nonpartisan” group, but their list of partners – and Blueprint’s origins – are very much grounded in the left-wing of American politics. Mark Binker | Read More »

Last Thursday, a memo from Blueprint NC was leaked to the press, which stated they intended to ‘eviscerate, mitigate, litigate, cogitate, and agitate’ the North Carolina Republican leadership. Blueprint is an ACORN-afiliated group, and its list of partners represents the core of the American far left. Since their dirty little secret was revealed, the organization has disavowed the memo. Mark Binker of WRAL.com wrote yesterday that: “The email from | Read More »

By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | February 13th at 12:03 AM |
It’s another tragic story of a young woman’s life being lost to a botched abortion. In this case, it was twenty-nine year oldJennifer Morbelli, who was a patient of Dr. Leroy Carhart. Carhart performed a third trimester abortion on Ms. Morbelli, which resulted in massive internal bleeding in her abdominal cavity. She died last Friday. This isn’t the first time a patient of Dr. Carhart has | Read More »
Harry Reid and The Crumbling Democratic Caucus
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | February 3rd at 01:38 PM |
Iowa is about to have an open Senate seat for the first time in twenty-nine years. Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA) decided to bolt from the U.S. Senate, as did Jay Rockefeller (D-WV). However, why are safe Democrats retiring from the U.S. Senate? Rockefeller and Harkin, for example, could’ve been there for life. Is it because Sen. Harry Reid is making things so miserable that stalwarts | Read More »
ATF’s Epic Fail In Milwaukee
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | January 31st at 12:14 PM |
As Harry Reid bolts from Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s renewed push to ban so-called assault weapons, other senators, including Pat Leahy and Al Franken, may politick their way into killing the bill in committee. As Ed Morrissey of Hot Air posted yesterday, No one thought Reid would be excited to support a new assault-weapons ban. He didn’t support the last one, and he’s been non-committal over the last several | Read More »

With the “Gang of Eight” announcing their immigration reform package yesterday, I’m sure many American found the deal sensible, rational, and fair. It’s a bipartisan deal, which pleases the independent segments of the electorate, and has Sen. Marco Rubio endorsing it wholeheartedly. Immigration keeps the United States economically vibrant, unlike Europe, which has become older, grayer, and more Islamized. We should welcome immigrants, but not | Read More »

As Bridget Johnson tattled this morning, polls show support for women in combat. There has been a lot of discussion regarding Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta lifting the ban on women in combat positions. As Fox News posted on January 24: The change would open hundreds of thousands of front-line positions and potentially elite commando jobs to women. Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey both | Read More »
Obama: Yeah, I Go Shooting ‘All The Time’
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | January 28th at 10:47 AM |
According to Joel B. Pollak, the president goes shooting ‘all the time.’ In an interview with Franklin Foer and Chris Hughes for The New Republic, President Obama said it was a way to “bridge the gap” between the urban vs. rural dichotomy in the gun control debate, which has only been accentuated with NYC’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s anti-gun push in the aftermath of the Newtown tragedy. | Read More »
Roe at 40: A Discussion with Live Action’s Lila Rose
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | January 23rd at 05:06 PM |
On January 22, the United States celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case, which legalized abortion in all fifty states. In doing so, the Court usurped a developing consensus amongst the state legislatures on the issue, and violated the principle of federalism that should guide how we enact policy in this country. Nevertheless, Roe, in estimates from The National Right | Read More »
Stephens: ‘ [Hagel] Confirmation Process Should Be Illuminating’
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | January 10th at 06:05 PM |
Chuck Hagel, former Senator of Nebraska, has been tapped to head the Department of Defense. He’s a Republican, who vociferously criticized the Bush administration during the Iraq War – and equated ‘The Surge’ as the biggest foreign policy blunder since Vietnam. I also think Iraq was more of a distraction, than brilliant strategic thinking – but that’s a different matter. We have a nominee for | Read More »
