Pre-Exisiting Condition Insurance Plan Is Going Broke
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | May 3rd at 12:56 PM |
Well, half the country saw this coming. A cornerstone initiative within our new trillion dollar new health care entitlement program, which doesn’t address rising costs, is going broke. Yet, another example of Obama’s failed domestic agenda. We have another example of how liberalism fails – and another example why government should do things piecemeal. According to the Associated Press today: State officials say thousands of people with medical | Read More »
The Sordid History of Ed Markey
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | May 1st at 10:52 AM |
Democratic Congressman Ed Markey won his party’s primary to fill John Kerry’s vacant seat, but there’s a few things you should know about him. First, he ran for congress in 1976 on a platform against the court-ordered busing of Boston’s schools. At the time, the public schools in Boston were ordered to desegregate, and white and black students were forcibly bused to each others districts – which | Read More »
So, When Will The ABC, NBC, and CBS Report on Obamacare?
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | April 22nd at 06:22 PM |
As the Big Three –NBC, ABC, and CBS – continue to engage in, to borrow a George Will term, journalistic malpractice over Obamacare’s adverse effects on the economy, they probably missed the development concerning some Democrats, who’ve started to chip away at portions of the bill. Some labor unions are calling for full repeal, and Democratic senators are trying to excise the medical devices tax | Read More »
Do Democrats Think They’re Immune for Obamacare’s Fallout in 2014?
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | April 5th at 02:03 PM |
Matt Canter, the Deputy Executive Director for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, is fired up about Obamacare, and how it might be innocuous to Senate Democrats in 2014. Yet, could this be a sign of the hubris that sunk Republicans in 2006, 2008, 2012? After all, prior to the 2006 slaughter, the GOP was ahead of Democrats concerning targeting voters and digital strategy. Remember Voter | Read More »

Bostic Hopes For A ‘Ted Cruz’ Moment Against Sanford
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | March 22nd at 09:20 AM |
In the the race to fill the vacant seat left by former Congressman – now Senator – Tim Scott (R- South Carolina), we have disgraced former Gov. Mark Sanford (R-South Carolina) and Curtis Bostic. Sanford failed to received 50% of the vote, which means there’s going to be a runoff election on April 2. Robert Behre of the Post and Courier wrote yesterday that: Bostic said Sanford stole tax money, | Read More »
Fear Thy Primary
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | December 4th at 03:37 PM |
Sen. Saxby Chambliss has decided to part company with Grover Norquist. In doing so, he invited a primary challenge. Reps. Paul Broun, Tom Price, and former secretary of state Karen Handel all have been maneuvering to oust Chambliss in 2014. Joshua Miller at CQ Roll Call reported on November 19 that conservatives just aren’t happy with Chambliss, with some, like Debbie Dooley, national coordinator of Tea | Read More »
The Day After…
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | November 8th at 02:31 AM |
Well, we lost. Mitt Romney didn’t win comfortably. BUT, Republicans maintained control of the House of Representatives. In one of the most ignominious highlights of the night, the GOP lost two senate seats – increasing the Democratic majority by two. The current makeup is 55 Democrats to 45 Republicans. In a milestone for the ladies, 20% of the U.S. Senate will be represented by women. | Read More »

My Prediction: Romney Wins Comfortably
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | November 6th at 03:23 AM |
The day has arrived. In about twenty-four hours, the stains of Barack Obama will be wiped clean and honor and dignity will be restored to The White House under Governor Mitt Romney. It hasn’t been an easy road. Conservatives waged a brutal primary battle that left us with a scarred nominee – Romney – coming out of the gate to take on President Obama in | Read More »

Slate Writer: White Guys Voting for Romney ‘In Defiance of Normal Americans’
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | November 5th at 05:01 AM |
Remember when liberals scoffed at the fact that Romney could win more than 60% of the white vote? Not only has Romney successfully tackled that hurdle, and liberals are apparently mad about it. Tom Scocca of Slate Magazine wrote on November 2 about the “tribal appeal” that Mitt Romney has with whites and why “white people think” he’ll be a better president. I’ll give | Read More »
No, Conservatives Don’t ‘Hate’ Stephanie Cutter
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | October 26th at 03:05 PM |
Here we go again. Those mean conservatives ganging up of a poor, helpless liberal from the Obama campaign, which happens to be the president’s deputy campaign manager. We don’t “hate” Stephanie Cutter, which Amanda Marcotte suggested in her October 23 post on Slate’s feminist “Double X” blog. Ok, let me walk that back – most conservatives don’t “hate” Stephanie Cutter. You’ll always find those hyper-partisans, on either | Read More »
