Kentucky Progress: Did the Left Put A “Hit” On Senator McConnell
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | April 11th at 07:43 PM |
We know now that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s recent campaign strategy meeting regarding Ashley Judd was recorded by Progress Kentucky, who admitted to making the tape, and that it was done outside in an adjacent hallway. David Corn, who broke the story, has no comment. Local Kentucky Democrat, Jacob Conway, said he outed the group to “protect the Democratic Party.” Regardless, it still doesn’t negate the fact this recording was | Read More »
Do Democrats Think They’re Immune for Obamacare’s Fallout in 2014?
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | April 5th at 02:03 PM |
Matt Canter, the Deputy Executive Director for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, is fired up about Obamacare, and how it might be innocuous to Senate Democrats in 2014. Yet, could this be a sign of the hubris that sunk Republicans in 2006, 2008, 2012? After all, prior to the 2006 slaughter, the GOP was ahead of Democrats concerning targeting voters and digital strategy. Remember Voter | Read More »

Finally! Radical Caitlin Halligan Withdraws Nomination To D.C. Court Of Appeals
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | March 23rd at 01:17 PM |
Well, it took three years, but Caitlin Halligan will not be a sitting on the D.C. Court of Appeals. She’s known for her progressive political views and judicial activism, which were so far outside the mainstream that other courts rejected her legal arguments. Ed Whelan at the National Review has documented her radical judicial philosophy. In 2004, Halligan signed a report issued by the Association of | Read More »
Sen. Feinstein’s Assault Weapons Ban Amendment is DOA
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | March 19th at 05:29 PM |
Well, any conservative could have seen this coming, despite the incessant rambling of anti-gun zealots calling for a ban on so-called assault weapons. The first ban had a de minimis effect on lowering violent crime, and Democrats paid a heavy political price during the ’94 midterms for it. Now, the Washington Post’s Ed O’Keefe reports today that this anti-gun provision is dead on arrival. Furthermore, it’s not included in the | Read More »
CPAC: Folks, Mitt Romney Lost
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | March 15th at 03:01 PM |
Mitt Romney addressed CPAC this afternoon, and I did support his candidacy. After all, he was the only person in our miserable 2012 crop of candidates that had the best chance of winning. However, his communications team was mostly on defense, his high-tech GOTV ORCA program crashed rendering 30,000 volunteers helpless on Election Day, and his candidacy prohibited conservatives from talking about health care. Sen. Graham Backs Radical Obama Judicial Appointment
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | March 4th at 06:14 PM |
Caitlin Halligan, general counsel for Manhattan’s district attorney’s office, was nominated in 2010 to fill a vacancy on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, and has been re-nominated four times since then. A cloture vote to move forward with her nomination failed 54-45 in 2011. The presidential judicial appointments – by custom – should be taken under consideration by the Senate, but not this one. For | Read More »
Ana Marie Cox Thinks Breitbart and His ‘Minions’ Are Bad Bad People
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | February 28th at 01:35 PM |
Ana Marie Cox of the Guardian isn’t on our team. That’s fine. However, to label us the “jackass” wing of journalism only demonstrates the left’s inability to hold their own side accountable. She seems to feel that all of the criticism she outlines in her piece about conservative media are absent on the left. This Friday will mark the one year anniversary of Andrew Breitbart’s passing, and it seems | Read More »
Evisceration Memo Prompts Republicans To Demand Investigation Of Blueprint NC
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | February 26th at 01:16 PM |
Yesterday, North Carolina Republicans called for an investigation of the progressive 501 (c) (3) group Blueprint NC, whichdrafted a memo calling for the evisceration of the party’s leadership. It was leaked to the press last Thursday, and Blueprint has since disavowed the memo. They’ve also claimed to be a “nonpartisan” group, but their list of partners – and Blueprint’s origins – are very much grounded in the left-wing of American politics. Mark Binker | Read More »
Blueprint NC Disavows Memo Calling For The Evisceration of State Republicans
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | February 25th at 03:56 AM |
Last Thursday, a memo from Blueprint NC was leaked to the press, which stated they intended to ‘eviscerate, mitigate, litigate, cogitate, and agitate’ the North Carolina Republican leadership. Blueprint is an ACORN-afiliated group, and its list of partners represents the core of the American far left. Since their dirty little secret was revealed, the organization has disavowed the memo. Mark Binker of WRAL.com wrote yesterday that: “The email from | Read More »
Gov. Baby-Killer?
By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | February 22nd at 05:57 PM |
Over the weekend, Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-New York) announced that he plans to relax his state’s abortion law, and allow women to obtain late-term abortions if their health is at stake. It provides more latitude against the current statute, which says the only legal justification for a late-term abortion – as defined by the Supreme Court – is when the pregnancy threatens the mother’s health. Not surprisingly, pro-life | Read More »
