DNC Platform Position in SUPPORT of Gay-Marriage an Outrage

Ignore the rest of this dross. The Management.

Mitt Romney today declared that the DNC platform position supporting marriage between like-gendered people is an outrage.  “There really is no place for this in America,” Romney declared through his campaign.  “America was founded as a Christian Nation and the Democratic position on this is an outrageous affront to the Christian religion and all Americans of faith.”

Oh, wait – he didn’t say that?  Here’s what he said: “                        ”

Nothing!!! Absolutely NOTHING!!!

This is only the beginning people.  I’ve said it here before and I say it again: The instant the nomination is actually his, we will see Willard accomplish a light-speed shift to the middle on EVERYTHING!!

Patriotic Republicans, there is still time.  We need to dump this tax-evading, job-exporting, silver-spoon sucking desecration into the dust-bin of history before the American people do.

Ron Paul, Rick Santorum, Newt Ginrich, Rick Perry, Sarah, give me anyone else other than Romney.

I only want what everyone of you readers want, and that is to see a true CONSERVATIVE in the White House next year.

Romney is a disgrace.

that Romney ought to shout it from the rooftops that the Dems. platform supports gay marriage. Of course, that is, unless they percieve that they are better off NOT calling people’s attention to it. That they say nothing indicates that they feel that opposition to gay-marriage is a losing proposition – which it isn’t.

But it does say a lot about their thinking – and hence my prediction that they will shift his position once he is the nominee.

Romney is nothing more than a collection of talking points that they think will will the election. He stands for nothing, he has no conviction, he blows in the wind like a speck of dust, ready and willing to go whatever direction the winds of political expediency take him. And he is about to be our nominee? How can it have come to this?

We may be taking a chance with Romney, but we know beyond a doubt what four more years of Obama will bring. No questions about that.

Dems are digging themselves into a hole trying generate a narrative of what a good thing it is for them to incorporate support for the LGBT and same sex marriage into their platform. In spite of the fact that 32 states have rejected it.

For right now, the three biggest issues voters are concerned about are jobs, corruption in government, and the deficit. Let Romney stay on track with those.

We the people have plenty loud enough voices to make our beliefs and convictions on traditional marriage heard. We don’t have to depend on Romney to do this for us.

how much effort does it take to simply say what I said above? It doesn’t detract from the other things – it adds. The narrative is: “I’m Conservative, Obama and the Democrats aren’t” Or at least it needs to be. The silence indicates to me that they are trying to construct a different narrative that will be rolled out after the convention. That narrative will be: Other Republicans may be extreme conservatives, but Mitt Romney isn’t. He’s a reasonable, compasionate person who happens to be rich and who happens to be slightly to the right of center.

That is not a narrative that we can tolerate. Hear me now and believe me later – the lack of ANYTHING on this is a tell that they are about to shift him to the left. They are convinced that true conservative principles cannot win -and that is where they are wrong.

Do you have anything in how Romney has approached the issue of traditional marriage to indicate that he sees it as being a fringe issue? Anything at all? Everything I’ve seen posted from him on this issue indicates that his support of traditional marriage is solid and that he isn’t likely to change his position.

I may have more than my share of questions about how he’ll approach things economically, although I have to admit that I’ve been pleasantly surprised at his attempts to present the facts supporting free-market capitalism endeavors, and through it, supporting freedom and liberty for the American people.

But to make an assumption that just because he isn’t repeating himself constantly about where he stands on this issue automatically means that he is going to shift to the left on the issue later on or that he doesn’t believe conservative principles can win…I don’t see that at all.

          • lineholder

That is great! It could go a long way to minimizing the narrative that the left is trying generate about Romney’s attitude towards women being “scary” or “frightening”.

People who work in the private sector, regardless of the position, status, race, age, gender, or anything else, have specific things that they share. It’s a common bond…an understanding of what it really takes to succeed.

Unleash that, along with all the creativity, ingenuity, and initiative that flows behind it, and that is best chance of turning things around economically.

Thanks, management, for choosing that particular video.

Back in May, their building was used as a site for Gov. McDonnell’s address on the successes of small businesses, just before Obama came here. I wish they were a little closer so we could look at using them, but in VA Beach, we’re a little far.

Of course, the Obama folks pointed out that Ball is a Small Women & Minority Owned Business and thus gets preference in state purchasing supply contract selection. And, they took tax credits under the Virginia Enterprise Grant programs for the capital spending on their building, and for increasing hiring. And, ball is a Women’s Business Enterprise National Council certified business, giving them preference in federal government purchasing supply contracts.

But this is what Gov. Romney said as well, government working hand-in-hand to support businesses to help business succeed, not government welfare programs succeed.

You haven’t supplied a shred of evidence to support the assertion in your first sentence, and your third sentence, which is also arguing from silence. The rest of this is just extrapolation without foundation. Your diary is even more ungrounded.

Right now the job is to defeat Obama – four more years of an Obama executive imperium may kill the patient.

I suspect if you continue – you’ll have a mod tell you that more forcibly than I just did. Mitt Romney is the Republican nominee, the question of whether he deserves our vote passed when he won the Primary.

      it was totally predictable

How does one post a video? If you don’t mind to please tell me. Of course when relevant….Thanks!

Romney’s our man. Like it or not.

Besides, I’m not sure that Romney has to say anything more at this point. He’s already made it plain that he supports traditional marriage. Let him stay focused on the things we can do to turn this economy around. He shouldn’t have to respond to every single comment the Dems make.

On another point, this proclamation of support isn’t going to be as helpful to the Dems as they think it will be. I live in NC, and I can’t wait until they bring this to my state at the convention.

Between the support of the black community in NC for traditional marriage and the fact that a large number of the members of the black community really resent the fact that the LGBT groups are trying to co-opt the civil rights movement…this could very well be enough to fast brew some steaming hot black TEA and send NC to Romney’s column.

…it became immediately obvious that your banning was a foregone conclusion after Romney won the nomination.

of same sex marriage is actually a two-fer strategy.
    1) It panders to a minority group for votes (a democrat party mainstay).
    2) It furthers the erosion of Christian moral values that our country was founded upon. Killing the moral fabric of the country is a marxist requirement found in every democratic party politicians playbook.
