Bob Beckel: Changing Demographics Will Overwhelm Republicans on Election Day

More blacks, youth, hispanics; fewer old Republicans according to Mondale's architect

Bob Beckel argues that demographics favor Obama. He reels off statistics about how many more blacks, young people 18-34, and hispanics there are in key swing states, compared to the Bush margin of victory in 2004. Then he (like Matt Damon) recalls actuarial tables to show that older white Republicans are dying off. His argument is that enough of these groups will vote (and all for Obama, apparently?!)to put states like Virginia, Ohio, Colorado and others in Obama’s column on Nov. 4. Beckel is a cynical apostle of the politics of division along race, gender, age, and ethnic lines.

However, Beckel forgets that all those demographic groups are now 4 and 8 years older than in 2000 and 2004. And we know that as people age they tend to become more invested in society, more conservative, and more likely to vote Republican. In addition, the aging baby boomers are the largest cohort in the polupation, and are voting more Republican as they age. Their parents are living longer too, and also more prone to vote Republican.

Further, despite all the hype about the youth vote for Obama, it has been demonstrated in election after election that those under 35 just do not vote in anywhere the percentage numbers that older voters do. I recall in 1972, when the media was certain that the masses of excited young people would turn out and elect McGovern. Let’s see, I think that election was 61-39%! We hear this every election, and despite all the efforts of rap artists, movie stars, and MTV’s “Rock the Vote for Democrats“, young people don’t turn out, not for Gore, not for Kerry. They have, shall we say, other priorities.

Palin’s Clear and Unambiguous Language and World View Refreshing

Focus on Term 'Bush Doctrine' Betrays Gibson's Ignorance

A term like the “Bush Doctrine” will only achieve some sort of lasting meaning with the passage of time. Currently, the term is NOT in the popular lexicon. Ask your friends and coworkers or the clerk at WalMart. Knowledge of the term, “Bush Doctrine”, contrary to pundits and so-called journalists, is not a prerequisite to understanding US foreign policy. In fact, harping on this term shows the ignorance of those like Gibson. Sarah Palin spoke clearly of her vision of the US role in the world and the criteria for US action. Contrary to Gibson and the other media and leftist political elites, most Americans find it refreshing to hear a leader speak in plain, clear, unambiguous language. This is a great part of the appeal of Sarah Palin. I would trust her in charge more than all the Charlie Gibsons or State Dept. PhDs. I eagerly look forward to John McCain and Sarah Palin returning our government to popular control.

Pontius Pilate Was a Governor

the Dems are much better when they act like the athiest Marxist secular humanists that they really are

According to TN Rep. (D) Steve Cohen, Sarah Palin is like Pontius Pilate, who gave the sentence of death to Jesus, the “community organizer”.

It is really interesting to watch the Democrats get so mixed up trying to appeal to “religious conservatives” and “evangelicals”. Apparently their polling and focus groups from 2000 and 2004 indicated the Dems are weak with people of faith. So they have made a concerted effort to inject scripture references and Biblical analogies into their rhetoric (and quite clumsily so).

Trouble is, Democrats as the ‘party of faith’ is an idea that just does not work. It is inauthentic, and quite obviously contrived. Nancy Pelosi is not at all convincing when she talks about her ‘faith in Jesus’ and quotes scripture in one breath, then refers to Obama as ‘the messiah’ and talks about the vital importance of aborting babies up to and including during birth in the next. Howard Dean is equally unbelievable when he talks about ‘his friendship with Jesus’ and quotes scripture (out of context of course, as if he ever understood the context) to support Democrat poliices. Really, the Dems are much better when they shed their costumes and act like the athiest Marxist secular humanists that they really are. At least then they were real.

Now the Daily Kos and leading Dems have taken up the cause of ‘Jesus as community organizer’. This of course is easily shown to be hogwash. But Rep. Cohen has taken the Obama/DNC congressional campaign to a heretofore unthinkable new low by apparently asserting that Sarah Palin is like those who killed Jesus. What are they thinking?

Should Andrew S., Matt D., Keith O., Chris M., Don & Carol Fowler be Committed?

PDS is sweeping the media and the demelites - is there a vaccine?

The recently diagnosed Palin Derangement Syndrome is reaching the peak of the epidemic. So many in the media and the democrat elites are falling victim that soon all those susceptible will succumb. The only treatment for PDS is the truth, which so far seems to be winning out, despite the near monopoly of the MSM. Being immune to PDS, it is quite a delight to see Charlie Gibson, Joy Behar, Larry King, Wolf Blitzer, Campbell Brown and so many, many others self-destruct. (take note that the Clintons seem to have developed an immunity to PDS).

Obama Ad Mocks McCains War Injuries!

Hard to believe it possible, but Dems sink to new low, spurred on by Jimmy Carter!

The new Obama ad mocking John McCain for not using the computer
is a disgusting attack on McCain’s war injuries, which prevent him from typing on a keyboardaccording to the Boston Globe.

Jimmy Carter opened the door by whining that McCain was ‘bleeding his POW experience for all it was worth’.

The Obama campain should take this ad down now, and apologize to John McCain.

Charlie Gibson Got The Bush Doctrine Wrong! Major MSM Gaffe!

Turns out Sarah Palin knew what she was talking about, Charlie!

We need to hold Gibson and ABC to account for this, and get the word our before the MSM spreads more lies!

According to Wikipedia, Charles Krauthammer was the first to use the term, The Bush Doctrine, in 2001. He explains in the Washington Post today
that there are four successive meanings to the term, Bush Doctrine. Thus it was quite appropriate for Sarah Palin to respond by asking “in what respect, Charlie?” Charlie then, looking over his professiorial glasses, proceeded to lecture and explain what he thought the term meant.

However, as Krauthammer explains,

when the Iraq war was looming, Bush offered his major justification by enunciating a doctrine of preemptive war. This is the one Charlie Gibson thinks is the Bush doctrine. It’s not. It’s the third in a series and was superseded by the fourth and current definition of the Bush doctrine, the most sweeping formulation of the Bush approach to foreign policy and the one that most clearly and distinctively defines the Bush years: the idea that the fundamental mission of American foreign policy is to spread democracy throughout the world. It was most dramatically enunciated in Bush’s second inaugural address: “The survival of liberty in our land increasingly depends on the success of liberty in other lands. The best hope for peace in our world is the expansion of freedom in all the world.”

This declaration of a sweeping, universal American freedom agenda was consciously meant to echo John Kennedy’s pledge in his inaugural address that the United States “shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.” It draws also from the Truman doctrine of March 1947 and from Wilson’s 14 points.

If I were in any public foreign policy debate today, and my adversary were to raise the Bush doctrine, both I and the audience would assume — unless my interlocutor annotated the reference otherwise — that he was speaking about the grandly proclaimed (and widely attacked) freedom agenda of the Bush administration.
Not the Gibson doctrine of preemption.

Campbell Brown: CNNs Rachel Maddow with a Pretty Face

Campbell Brown just finished another edition of CNN’s new “No Bias, No Bull” campaign ’08 reportage. The first half she spent reviewing every historical incident where the term “lipstick on a pig” was used, arguing that Barack Obama is being persecuted by the Mccain campaign.

The second half she turned to her “reporter on the ground” in Anchorage, who gushed a whole pile of bias and bull trying to prove that Sarah Palin is the earmark queen of the past two centuries at least.

Campbell Brown is rapidly becoming the queen of the hit piece for CNN – at least she is more watchable than Rachel Maddow at MSNBC – Maddow is positively dark and dreadful. Who did they fire to find a slot for Maddow?

And the DNC Presents: The Carol and Don Fowler Show

"You're not a real woman until you've had an abortion" - How many have you had, Carol?

Ever mindful of the fame her husband Don (former DNC Chair) received when he declared that Gustav interrupting the Republican convention meant that “God is on our – Democrats – side” (we now know the ending on that story), and being a totally liberated woman equally as sleazy, skanky, and vile as Don, South Carolina Democrat Party chairperson Carol Fowler was front and center today with the Obama talking point du jour: Sarah Palin’s only qualification for Veep is that she has not had an abortion.

Brilliant! Carol, you really nailed it this time. White working class women will flock to Obama for sure now. I mean, everyone knows that having an abortion is a rite of passage, the more the merrier, Carol says. Why, next Obama will even propose to pay for them, and to start preparing young women for their first abortion experience during their kindergarten sex ed class (Obama’s single legislative accomplishment).

South Carolina must be proud to have two such outstanding and well-respected Democrats!

Obama Unhinged and Unmasked

Axelrod and the media are losing it too

Barack Hussein Obama has lost it. The past few days he is clearly off-balance, he misspeaks, he hems and haws and hesitates (much more than usual), he is getting more outrageous and extreme. Axelrod is not smiling. He looks strained and angry. Biden the pompous windbag is angry. They are all ranting and raving. The DNC and Obama have resorted to sending 30 lawyers and investigators to Alaska to try to dig up any dirt they can find – and make it up if they can’t find any – on Sarah Palin. CNN has sent an army of reporters as well, trying to find anything or anyone who will say that Sarah Palin did this or that, and twisting and splicing what they say anyway. They are sinking fast, and they know it, but they can’t stop.
The media is unhinged too. Just watch them. Look at poor Jeffrey Toobin, or that sadest of sad sacks, Paul Begala – they may have to be taken off the set in strait jackets. They can’t help repeating all the lies they read on the Daily Kos and DNC talking points. They don’t even attempt to check these things out. Then watch them squirm when they are caught lying again and again.
The left just can’t believe that they are losing. This was supposed to be handed to them. They have already annointed Barack as President for life. Then they could finally take control, reinstate the Fairness Doctrine and shut down the “right wing gun and God nuts” once for all. But now all they can do is spew forth ever more vile rumor, innuendo, slander, filth and lies. Obama, Axelrod, MSNBC, CNN and the NYT just can’t help themselves. But they have shown their true selves, they are now laid bare for everyone to see their raw hypocrisy.
Bring it on!

Campbell Brown: CNN Equal Opportunity Smearer-in-chief

All bias and bull

Noone can say that CNN’s new effort to be the ‘fair and balanced’ news source of record isn’t succeeding. Campbell Brown just spent the first half of her show ‘exposing’ all the lobbyists surrounding John McCain (in order to ‘prove’ that Obama’s claim was in fact correct. (She calls this segment “No Bias, No Bull”, after CNN’s new slogan). While she could have spent the second thirty minutes on McCain, instead, to be fair, she turned to her reporter on the ground in Wasilla, who was trying her best to portray Sarah Palin’s religious views as bizarre, strange, and extreme. This left Campbell aghast, and very concerned that “faith might play a role in shaping her world view and in her life”. Campbell promised to follow this compelling story closely, and I’m fairly certain that she will.

Goodbye, Keith. Goodbye Chris. We’ll Miss You (Not!)

MSNBC Gives the Pink Slip to Olbermann and Matthews

I awoke this morning to wonderful news. Not only are McCain-Palin up by 10 points, but MSNBC has put the axe to Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann. They are ‘perceived to be too biassed’, according to MSNBC President Phil Griffin.

Of course, these two crazy lefties are being replaced by – you guessed it! two other crazy lefties, David Gregory and Rachel Maddow. But still it feels good to bid Olbermann and Matthews goodbye. Gregory and Maddow will fare even worse in the ratings. But take heart, if you miss them, I’m sure they will end up on Democracy Now!

WalMart and Us (magazine): A Call to Action!

Tell WalMart to dump Us magazine for good

The despicable Us magazine cover and grossly inaccurate accompanying story should not go unpunished. The Publisher of Us is, surprise, a big Obama supporter. Last evening at WalMart, I noticed that the racks at all checkouts were still stuffed full of Us, as if, perhaps, few if any had sold. I also took note that some of the stacks of magazines had been turned upside down, or backward. Apparently the folks who shop at WalMart are not as dumb as the Obamaphiles think!

I am writing to WalMart to request that the magazine be discontinued for good, based on the obvious political bias and the slanderous story. For others who wish to write Walmart, here is the link to customer comments:

54 Leftist Smears on Palin and Counting…

A 'must read' blog at the Weekly Standard

The Left and their slavish liberal media disciples continue the onslaught of trash and lies against Sarah Palin, even as the Barack H. Obama campaign clings desperately to plausible deniability for encouraging and in some cases originating the smears.

Blogger Charlie Martin over at the Weekly Standard has compiled the smears so far (up to 54 and counting), accompanied by a ‘must read’ analysis of how the Obama Left is starting the rumors and how they quickly enter the mainstream press. Here’s the link:

Yes, Michael Moore, There is a God in Heaven!

(Psst! Tell Don Fowler whose side God is really on...)

Last week, as it appeared that Hurricane Gustav would strike New Orleans on the opening day of the Republican convention, Democrats salivated, hoping for a repeat of a Katrina-style disaster. Michael Moore called a press conference to announce that Gustav’s timing “proved that there is a God in Heaven”. Former DNC chair Don Fowler declared that the impending disaster showed that “God is on our (Democrat) side”. Not used to praying or calling for prayer, Democrats across the land nevertheless began imploring the Obama faithful to beseech the Almighty (whatever their individual concept of the Divine might be)for great destruction and loss of life so as to entirely derail the Republican convention (remember, to the Democrat Party, the ends justify the means).

But Moore, Fowler, and the rest of the Obama Nation didn’t get their wish. First, the President, FEMA and Chertoff learned the lessons of Katrina well. Then too, the incompetent Democrat governor of Louisiana has been replaced by (the fantastic) Bobby Jindal. He and 4 other Republican governors of Gulf states demonstrated their competence in the face of impending disaster. To the great consternation of the Obama faithful, the response was smooth and orderly.

The ‘New’ CNN: No Bias, No Bull?

Wolf Blitzer and Campbell Brown working OT to discredit network's new slogan

CNN’s recent attempt to reinvent itself as the centrist news source, with “no bias, no bull”, has died an early death. True, CNN has added Bill Bennett to offer the ‘Republican/Conservative’ view (realizing somehow that the ideologically labile David Gergan has zero credibility in that role). But Bennett is usually the lone voice of reason on panels dominated by the likes of Gloria Borger, Wolf Blitzer, and Campbell Brown. True, Bennett is given his 30 seconds every so often. But the truth is quickly drowned out by endless hours of liberal bias and bull.

According to Bennett, CNN made the corporate decision earlier this year to become the “no bias” network. Seeing MSNBC as ‘in the tank’ for Obama, and Fox clearly favoring McCain, CNN decided to pursue higher ratings by attempting to be truly ‘fair and balanced’. CNN made a few half-hearted attempts to be more balanced, including hiring Bennett and introducing the new slogan, “no bias, no bull”.

But last week something went haywire at CNN. The reporters and pundits were unhinged and uncontrollable. In fact, the selection of Sarah Palin apparently sent CNN’s Obamaphilic ‘journalists’ into the abyss of bias and sleaze the likes of which even CNN has never seen before. On Monday, as Gustav was blowing in, CNN kept the breaking news banner, ‘Palin’s 17 y.o. daughter Bristol 5 months pregnant’. Despite pundit after pundit agreeing that Bristol’s pending motherhood should be ‘off-limits’, Wolf Blitzer, Campbell Brown, Gloria Borger, David Gergen and various rotating guests (Democrat party strategists and their ilk) kept the pregnancy ‘scandal’ ball rolling.
